« on: August 21, 2006, 08:50:57 pm »
Did anyone see CBS news tongiht (Monday) about HIV??  I would find the link but I have a 24bd connection from home and my ADD would have me dead before the first page was drawn....

It was about HIV not KILLING CD4's but simply shutting them off..  Now scientiests are thinking about "flipping the switch" back on type thinking..  Whatsup with dat??  Something to discount or something interesting for you super experts... ;)

OK I FOUND THE LINK AND IT WAS CBS NOT ABC......

Thanks Eric...looks interesting. I hope they figure it out, I'm getting a little bit tired of taking pills and giving myself shots every 12 hours. Anyone want to host a party if this "is it"??? I would but my house is kinda small.  ;)

It's things like this that give me more optimism in the current research of HIV.  My husband always said there would be a cure for this one day, just that it wasn't his time for the cure.  While I know and understand this isn't a cure, it's just comforting to know that the medical field is still looking out for our best interests.

I know I will be around for a long time... to torment my daughter!!!  *snicker*

There is an article that may be interest to read.  If they can find a way to do what the article suggests we might be better off in the long run.

Like the article also suggests many of the viruses do not want to actually cause us harm, if we die the virus also ceases to exist.

It really seems like things are changing and moving faster and faster....  Yes I am just getting my feet wet but even more so I think about the Jeff's the Izy's and so so many others that are having this impact them in a much grander scale..  I don't want you to ever loose faith that the next turn, the next corner, is going to reveal something that will take away all of our fears.... Can you imagine if someone where to say "We have figured it out."  Come to your docs office and get the SHOT...   Just imagine and don't discount this hope into nothingness..  Hope is a good instinct to live by...

Meanwhile....  Here we are...  Alive and breathing.. ;)

These are the kind of news that give us all hope. There is no denying that knowledge of how hiv works is growing in leaps and bounds, and the day is approaching when the key discovery for a cure is made. It's coming!
