And what are you drinking this summer?
« on: August 08, 2010, 04:26:14 pm »
I'm plowing through my bubbly wines, all year round.  But I never had this Italian bubbly before this summer, and it knocks my socks off!

Fararri Perle

Otherwise its the usual - gin tonics, Campari, absinthe, beer.

And:  chinotto soda

Mezcal, Del Maguey, Santo Domingo Albarradas

Domaine La Bouissiere Gigondas

Sazerac (rye whiskey, sugar, bitters, absinthe rinse)

Passion fruit daiquiri

(all followed with 2 lines of coke and then a sedative chaser hours later, while singing Liza's version of "Rent")

Is this Mountain Dew and Iced Coffee together?

I love iced coffee but it pretty unheard of in Switzerland. You have to go into a long explanation and finally you never know what they will bring you.

I generally only drink beer.  Gin and tonic on occasions.  Use to love Vodka martinis (dirty), but rarely drink it anymore.

Staropramen
Asahi
Tiger
Leffe

Generally whatever is the best option on tap.

Yeeeouch!  Do I have a story about passing stones! yikes...but on to better things:

I brew my own beer in small batches (3 gallons or less).  So far this spring/summer I've brewed up a Chocolate Porter, a Doppel Bock and a Wheat beer with crushed corrianer seeds and orange zest.  I'm getting ready to brew an amber with a touch of cranberry.

Yeah, you haven't heard of it yet?  It's all the craze over here right now.  It might be something exclusive to South Florida right now.   Phil was telling me via PM he had a Mountain Iced Coffee the other day from Starbucks.

I'm drinking the same thing this summer as I was last winter; scotch whiskey (Highland Poacher) on ice with water. Yummy. And no hangover. Scrumptious. And cheap too at £2.00 per house double.
