Is that it?

Katie went from the hospital into a nursing home. We spent Thanksgiving and Christmas huddled around a bed. They tried to do physical therapy with her and she went paralyzed from the waist down. That ended that for awhile, until I went in and had a small hissy fit. They are professionals and therapists with degrees and even ignorant me knows that if you don't use it, you will lose it, so they will start therapy again. Katie feels certain that she will progress enough to come home...

Then, the expected 'we will be taking her SSI check' from the nursing home. So, I am paying the rent, the utilities, Katie's bills, and buying all the food. Daniel and I have come to a new relationship.....I promised I would not enter his room and kill him in his sleep.

I have come to hate hoodies. He comes slinking in with it pulled over his head and face. I have come to read him pretty well, and if he slinks a certain way, I know he is hiding something from me.

Just when I thought I was getting a handle on things, I look out the front window and see the Ranger parked at it's normal spot in front, but...it's bumper was to the ground. So, I take out the trash and nonchalantly do a walk around...I am paying the insurance on it, after all, and the right lights are ..gone, and the panel is crumpled. The windshield is cracked from at the bottom all the way across.

I was working myself up to a good tantrum, but it was deflated by pesky images of my past life and several instances of:

1)my brand new shiny red '73 Malibu after I was waving at some friends and side swiped a parked car

2)the '69 Plymouth Station Wagon with the column between the doors crumpled in and the rear window broken out...and it was winter....and my first step father made me drive it that way to teach me a lesson about stopping at stop signs...I froze my ass off, but it did not stop me from partying in New Orleans   ;D

3)the crumpled right rear panel of a '69 cadillac that almost made it to the top of a mix-master in an ice storm on New Years Eve.....but.....came sliding back down...
(it was New Years and a girl one must party on New Years...at the very least. put in an appearance to show that you are still alive

4)flying though the air in a '72 Impala whereupon the suspension was not quite right after the landing...

He swears that he did not have a wreck, so at least there won't be any insurance involved. and no ticket, that he was parked at Walmart......I don't see how that much damage could be done in a parking lot...but...

I tried to take a picture but the $50.00 worth of batteries I bought last month, have disappeared and I don't have any for the camera...

I made a point of calling mom, apologizing for the hell I gave her in my early years....

Hi Ron
I'm trying to think of something smart to say but for the life of me I can't.   I can never top your posts for entertainment value.
Just glad you are ok.
