Starting Atripla this friday June 5th 2010
« on: June 02, 2010, 02:11:16 pm »
Im starting Atripla this friday night--rain or shine, sun or snow, earthquake or hurricane im starting.. Any advice? I plan to work out friday frum about 8pm-1030pm...I usually go to bed  somewhere between 12-1am. I hope the tiredness from the gym knock me out so I wont feel any effects. For some reason my mind and head is going into defensive mode--all i am thinkin is what can i do to avoid side effects.
Do i need to brace myself? or just go along and take it easy?

My latest numbers are 262 CD4 and 30,000VL (as of last week) . The CD4 is down from 342 in mid Feb and the Vl is down from 87,000 for the same period.

Gave you some advice in the other thread.

-------------
Don't see how the work out plan helps if its not your usual thing. I'd take it easy.

Also, dont drink TOO much water. TOO much is as bad as too little.

You actually dont have to do anything special
All these new years resolution type declarations means you're putting too much focus on your control of something that is just chemical.

Just start the drugs and see how it goes. Probably pretty well.  The only thing you need to resolve is to be patient, to take them everyday, and to get help if there is a problem to adjust to.

___________

So good luck to you I bet it goes OK!

Any advice?

Do i need to brace myself?

You just need to simmer down and relax and take your pill. I think you'll find that in the end "starting" will be anit-climactic, as it is for the majority of people.

Per my pharamcist: Take it on an empty stomach or at least a while (2hrs?) after ingesting any fats. Fat in your system apparently intensifies how it is metabolized and enhances the effects. When I started in December, I experienced the "dizziness" that every talks about for a couple of days. A lot of people say that they felt drunk, but for me, it was like my equilibrium was "off".  Now, I find I sleep better if I take an OTC sleep aide or melatonin before bed, too.

Good luck with it. It was remarkable for my numbers.

Some people prefer to wait for the weekend in case the drug weirds them out a bit. N'est ce pas?

I knew his reasoning, I also know he has a history of putting it off.  I hope you have the courage to swallow the first set of pills this time.

You are funny... the best time to take your med is night time before you go to sleep.  10:30 pm is the best time.  You take it and go to your bed. Period.  Everything will evaporate in sleeping.  In the morning you completely feel that you are free of anything. You hardly recognize even that your have the f**n virus.  The best of lucks.
