Broken Sex Drive on PI's

I've been on a combination of Saquinavir, Norvir and Truvada since I was diagnosed 3 years ago. In that time my sex drive got worse and is now gone completely. I've met someone and want to do something about, I talked to my doctor who took me off PI's and now I'm in Etravirine and Truvada. My question to forum is has anyone been in this position before? If so, how long did it take to recover sex drive after swapping treatment like this?

If you are male, you should first make sure that your testosterone levels are normal since low T levels are a common reason for low libido.

Having said that, there have been a few threads here about Atripla making guys horny and causing strong morning wood so maybe you can try Atripla as long as you don't have underlying resistance.

There are a number of studies that implicate PI's in lowered libido, you should be back in the saddle soon.

As Intchingblue mentions you should check your testosterone and your bone density, as PI's and tenofovir can both cause osteopoenia.

good luck.  i've been positive since 86 and strated meds in 87.  diagnosed with KS in 2007 and been doing chemo off and on for the last 2 years.  with the frequent fatigue, my sex drive is almost non existent
