Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Let me thank you first for a commendable job you are doing.
I went to a massage parlour. All that happened was handjob and Frottage. I had used protection but what I screwed was that I wore two condoms. Secondly I rubbed my genitals all over her body. I am not sexually active and did this for the first time. Past few days I started with lose motions for 1 Day. Fever for 2 days. Cough and cold for 10 days and pain in armpit, groin and neck for 2 days followed by pimples on my body for past a week ( am assuming they are shingles). Li'l weight loss and fatigue.
Doctor I without putting much thought to it kept having unsafe sex with my wife.
Doctor my Q's are
1. What are my odds of being safe
2. Do I need to confirm this with a test
3. If am diagnosed with HIV(only based on this incident), can I continue to live a healthy life and live for good 20 years?

You are worrying unnecessarily.

As long as you consistently use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse you will be well protected as far as HIV is concerned in terms of sexual transmission. None of the other activities you mentioned put you at risk.

However, in the future use only one condom. It's a mistake to use two because they actually can end up damaging each other. Fortunately that didn't happen this time or you would have known it. When a condom fails it is very clear what happened because it ends up looking like a fringed hoop on your penis. So use only one latex condom each time for intercourse.

There is no need for testing. If you are having symptoms that are worrying you that is something to discuss with your doctor. they have nothing to do with HIV.

Can I be rest assured that this incident put me at no risk and can i move on as you said no testing. Am I safe? if you read this was my first risk behavior. Please Andy. Please reply. Awaiting. God bless

If you would just take some deep and slow breaths in and out, put your fears aside for the moment and just re-read what I said to you previously, I very clearly said there was no risk and no need for testing.

You have no cause for concern about HIV over this incident. And just because you may again from time to time have a wondering and scary thought again won't change the facts of the situation. You weren't at risk. Get on with your life.

sorry to have come back again...am in bad shape...am losin weight. have been extremely unwell for over two weeksw now tih recuurent fever, lose motions, night sweats... skin rashes..bad ones... do i need test..very scared and paranoid. i think i am infected...pls help

What part of Andy's replies to you didn't you understand?

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Naman,

If you feel unwell, go see a doctor. Whatever is going on had NOTHING to do with hiv infection. You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection.

You do NOT need to test.

Dear Ann

I have falling sick lately... have clusters of boils coming regularly on my body which leave black scars... am generally looking unwell and losing weight rapidly. however i kept having s*& with my spouse as we were planning for a baby. am worried that i have infected her as well.

please tell me clearly what are the chances of someone getting infected after rubbing genitals ( don't know about fluid exchange)

Please help me so that I can plan a way forward for my life. I am a marginally not to well to do.. if am sure that am safe i can let these worries go away and get my life on track. please help me. I've come after more than a month. need one

Ann has already clearly and unequivocally told you that you were not at risk. Period. You have no cause for concern about HIV.

Stop with all this drama and get on with your life. If you are having physical problems, discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.
