More aggravation...
« on: August 27, 2008, 07:54:00 pm »
It hasn't been my best week.   We're having new carpet installed at work, so I've been 'displaced'....that, on top of dust and glue and new carpet fumes, was bad enough....but, when you get new CARPET everything else looks shabby (and dirty) so yesterday we got down on our hands and knees, crawled around, and murphy's oil soaped the baseboards.

I was exhausted when I got home, just collapsed in my chair.  My foot went to sleep, and I didn't realize it; hopped up, and twisted my right ankle.  CRACK

Today, I spent 2 and a half hours at the doc-in-a-box clinic (still faster than ER here!) to get an X-RAY to make sure nothing was broken....I'm fine, just hopping around in an ankle brace and taking Naprosyn.

The worst torture of the whole thing was during my 2 hour wait in the waiting room, they had all the TV's tuned to FOX news.  UGH.   By the time I got out of there, I was ready to scream.

Come on, weekend.   >:(

Alan ,

Sorry to hear about the ankle. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Believe me, I know that cracking sound ! Over the past few years, it seems it's my ankles, I have most problems with, and I have to watch my movements.   It seems , your company, should have supplied outside labor, for all this.

And then on top of it having to watch Faux News for two hours !! I would have been rolling around the floor in agony !!

Oh Alan, you poor dear.  I've had my foot fall asleep, but when I stood up, I just fell over.

I agree with Ray, it seems your company would have gotten outside help for all the "cleaning."  Why should you have to do it?

I sure hope you feel better soon.  Hang on dear, weekend is almost here (a 3-day one).

Betty

Alan,

I'm very sorry you had to endure 2 hours of Fox news.  And I hope you ankle gets better soon, too.

Alan  sorry to hear about your ankle. That popping sound is NEVER a good thing to hear. Glad it was not a break. Um for what its worth, take it easy on your tall skinny self! Youneed an infection like I need a hookah.

Alan,
Sorry that you've hurt your ankle. Did you have plans for Labor Day? I hope you have 3 days off to recuperate.

Thanks everybody, I'm doing fine now.   Wearing a 'hard brace' and getting around pretty good.
I should be "back to normal" real soon (but wait a sec, normal for me is what?)  ;)

Yes indeed, the WORST part of the whole ordeal was being subjected to FOX news for 2 hours.   They are absolutely ridiculous.   Laughable, almost.

hugs,

Alan

Hey Alan,

Glad the ankle is doing OK.

I am REALLY sorry about being subjected to Fox news. UGH!

I would have complained and told the receptionist I was going to sue for cruel and unusual punishment!

Feel better soon, hon,

HUGS,

Mark

Hi Alan~

I hope today finds you doing a little better.  Have you ever sprained that ankle before?  Unfortunately, with each sprain, that ankle becomes more susceptible to future sprains, so please be careful.

I ask as well, why DID they have you cleaning at work?  I would keel over from that kind of thing, lol!

Get your rest!  :)

Alan: For the same reason she wore gold at the subdued "We Really Truly Care As Americans About Flood Victims" Day One of the Republican Convention (nice alternative to Jerry's Telethon). Which means, beats me. I also noticed Laura's teeth were kind of yellow. I need to get out more. And DO GET WELL!
