If you're the author of a post/reply there is a "Modify" button on the top right side of your post.  From my own recent experience (ahem...) I know one can completely change a post, including the subject line (but don't tell anyone I told you or I may get in trouble again).

To delete an account one must ask the mods and, unless SMF is different from the program used previously, deleting an account deletes all posts connected with it.  Only one of the mods can give you more information about that.

The mods may ban a member from posting but they never delete an account.

I've seen a post have just an asterisk or a period in it after the poster went back in and took out all the original post. But you have to leave something.

I would suggest that anyone who is thinking they want their account deleted contact the moderators at forums@aidsmeds.com before you take any action. We may be able to help without you taking a drastic step such as what NightmareHall has done.

It's not really fair to everyone else when a person removes the text from all their posts as it can have the effect of making a thread nonsensical. So please, talk to us first, we may be able to help.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
