"Blip" in Viral Load
« on: January 26, 2012, 04:02:47 pm »
My viral load has been undetectable for about two years after being diagnosed in Sept 2009 and starting on Atripla.  Had labs this week and CD4 is fine at 334 but viral load was 30....My doctor referred to this as a "blip" and said not to be concerned.....Anyone else have anything similar occur?  I've compliant with meds and so I'm choosing not to worry about this.....

30 is not a blip. The target when on treatment is a viral load less than 50, or perhaps 40 is you are a real nerd. A viral load of 30 means jack shit even if the test can measure <20 at it's lower limit.
