I had just posted the two links below as a reply in another thread.  I am creating a separate topic here so that Ford's post is not hijacked with replies to these findings (plus this area of the forums seems more appropriate).

These articles were posted on 25/08/09 at the aidsmap.com website.  The first study may seem to contradict what has been common knowledge about Viread (Tenofovir) thus far.

Risk of kidney problems similar for tenofovir and alternative drugs.

The second article touches on the importance of an undetectable VL when it comes to these vital organs.


Patients taking HIV treatment need to maintain undetectable viral load to protect kidney function
