Mike,

What part of "see your doctor about your symptoms" don't you understand? We are NOT going to tell you anything different.

If I have to, I'll give you a time out until Monday, when you should have your results. Until then, there's nothing more to say.

Don't spend any more time (mis)intrepreting what the clinic means when they say come in to get your test result. They've already told you that's their standard policy.

Stop torturing yourself and go get your result.

Keep us posted.

How accurate would a 7 1/2 week negative( 56 days). Would this be accurate for a healthy person? What are the chances of me testing positive in 5 more weeks?

Mike,

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, but a six week negative must be confirmed at three months.

I do not expect the negative result you got this week to change.

Ok thats good to know. Does it seem the ball is in my court now since its been 2 months? From what i hear it is very uncommon to seroconvert after 6 weeks unless you have an immune system that is very comprimised.

Mike,

We've been telling you all along that it was unlikely you'd end up positive from this one-off incident.

I do not expect your results to change.

I have devolped a red, bumpy rash on my backside(my butt) it isnt itchy but it has several red bumps and they are unusual. I also have upper left rib pain. Are these signs of hiv or seroconversion?

How many times have we told you that symptoms are no indicator of HIV status? You really are pushing your luck here.

If you're worried about a rash on your arse then take your tuches to your doctor.

Why on earth would you think that we could diagnose your butt problems over the internet?

Mike,

You have less than two weeks to go until you can test conclusively for hiv. In the meantime, you'll have to take your physical problems to a doctor as we cannot diagnose you here.

I'm still fully expecting you to receive a conclusive negative result and so should you.

Make sure you always use condoms in future and you won't have to go through all this uncertainty again. Condoms prevent hiv infection. Use them.

yes i understand that. I do have a question, i have been diagnosed with Meniere's disease (its vertigo) can that have affected my negative test result. I also had been taking multivitamin's and other vitamin pills that support immune function. Could that have interfered with my antibody detection? I think i may have got the wrong test result and they tested it wrong at the lab.

Mike,

None of the things you list would have ANY effect on your hiv testing. The test came back negative because you don't have hiv. All you need is the confirmatory three month test, but it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that your conclusive result will be negative.

DOes anyone know what the ususal test that comes out as non-reactive is called? I was tested at a clinic for no charge. Are the clinic tests that are free antibody tests crappy quality? Do you think they are old, unsensitve tests that the clinic i went to usues? I know they had to send my sample to a lab for testing. What test would non-reacitve have been and what gen do you think it was?

Mike,

When you posted the reply I've quoted above, I take it you were posting about your conclusive three month test result. If so, then you are conclusively hiv negative, which is no surprise after your seven and a half week negative result.

You are always going to get colds and flues - it happens to all of us, negative or positive. If you're going to question your hiv negative status every time you get a sniffle, then perhaps it's time you saw a counselor who can show you ways of managing your hiv anxiety. We cannot do that for you here.

Please make sure you read the posting guidelines in the Welcome Thread, particularly the one that reads:

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned.

Condom Holes

Well here it is again. I had vaginal sex, i used one of those trojan enz condoms and i belive to have put it on properly because me and partner  checked it . I am uncircumsized and the condom would bunch up on my penis, but we checked it periodically to see if it broke and it didnt appear broken and i saw no pinholes in it so we continued. I ejaculated in the condom with it inside my partner, and once again it appeared to not be broken. I checked the condom two days after sex for pinholes and there were several in the condom when it was filled up with 8 oz of water!!!! Do you think my condom had pinholes during our sex? and what is my hiv risk from the pinholes? Do you think the pinholes may have leaked during sex?

Mike,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please tell me you're kidding. You dug a two day old, spunk filled condom out of the rubbish (I hope it was in the rubbish, or do you keep them under your pillow for the condom fairy?), filled it with water, then wondered why there were holes in it?

You men who insist on filling used condoms with water are asking to scare yourselves silly. They're not meant to be used in this way and it's no wonder they sometimes come up with holes. Sheesh.

No, there weren't holes in your condom when you were using it for intercourse. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. They're crap as water balloons though.

Uncircumcised men should pull the foreskin back before putting the condom on. It sounds like you've not been doing this. Start.

You didn't have a risk. Read through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them correctly and with confidence.

And stop putting water in the damn things.

Ann

Mike?

You got it out of your yard,  where it had lain for two days,  and you wondered why there were holes in it? Thanks mate, I can die happy because I've heard it all now.

Seriously, latex degrades when left out in the sunshine and weather elements. This is why you need to store your condoms properly. If you'd bothered to read through the condom and lube links in my signature line like I asked you to in my very first post to you (back in July '07), you'd know this stuff.

And in future, dispose of your condoms properly. Don't go throwing them in your yard.  Wow. Talk about a litter bug!
