Welcome to the family Alain. Glad you have joined in.

Sorry about your heating loss. I know it must be difficult. I know someone who lost his hearing as a child as a result of mumps. He is loads of fun, but too many people don't take the time to get to know him.

That won't happen here. I know many of us, including myself, are looking forward to getting to know you better.

So, make yourself comfortable. This is a great place to be.

HUGS,

Mark

Hello Alain,

Welcome to the Forums!   I am also a member of the "Class of '87".    I can't say it was a very good year, but we won't ever forget 1987, will we?

Hugs,

Alan

Hi Cowhand.

Welcome.  I lost the hearing in my left ear.  I complained about it so my Dr sent me an ENT guy (Ear,Nose, & Throat) who looked in and said my inner ear was completely gone.  Apparently a fungus got to it, I think caused by in compromised immune system.  My right ear isn't much better.  On the plus side, my partner was born profoundly deaf so I'm already familiar with deaf culture etc.  And fortunately, Closed Caption is pretty much commonplace now so I have no problem watching TV.  I finally saw Brokeback MOuntain the other said and thank god it was captioned.  Ole Ennis mumbled so much I couldn't understand a word he said.

So like I said, welcome aboard.  Can you come to Montreal next month?  Would love to meet you.

Hey Alain,

I have bad ears but I do hear with hearing aids......nothing to do with HIV but I know a little bit what it is like, just a little bit......

Anyway, we hear you when you write here and I am sure you can listen to us when we have things bothering us, things that make us sad, or really happy.

Welcome!
