I would hate too see what becomes of my lipids if it comes to this .

A little spam trivia I read on a plane ... Hawaii is the spam capitol of the 50 United States , it seems people there developed quite a taste for spam during the last world war and it continues even today .

God I haven't seen or eaten spam since I was a kid when we had it between two slices of white bread in our lunch boxes for school...and we used to have it fried with beans and mashed pototoes for tea..I don't think I could stomach it again...and not something I would want to feed to my grandkids either.

I still eat Spam, with CHEESE, sandwiches. Katie has to have it fried, which completely changes the taste of it, and she loves mayo while I love mustard. It is high in sodium and Katie's ankles will swell up, but then they came out with low sodium.

I also eat spam from time to time. Reminds me to buy a few cans for part of our hurricane supply stock. I think the stuff lasts forever doesn't it?  ::)

Sweetie, that is called aspic and it is a delicacy. I personally love the gelatin that forms around various meats.  ::)

I know you do too! 8)

OK, now I am hungry for Spam.

I do need to get some on hand, just in case. Winter is just around the corner. you know, and you can only eat so much dried, salted beef when you are snowed in.

Those of us old enough to remember know that the SPAM can used to have the little key stuck to the can and you had to wind it around the can to get to the wonderful morsel of meat inside. The edges were sharp though so you could cut yourself if you were not careful. Today it has a pull top lid and when you shake it from the can you hear a sucking/slurping sound that sounds strangely familiar and you will know what I mean but you need to get a can of your own to be sure.

For those that do not know this, SPAM stands for shoulder pork and ham.  You see way back when there was no machine that could remove the shoulder meat so it was done by hand and combined with ham and called SPAM. It is also very popular in Korea and is given as a gift because it is so prized there.

I have many recipes but my all time favorite is SPAM and gravy on toast points with peas!  ;D  Another is to slice it very thinly fry it until crispy and melt cheese on top and slather the bread in mayonnaise before you eat it.

It is late and I could go on and on but I will refrain until such time as I can give SPAM its due much to the chagrin of many of you to be sure.

I lived in Hawaii as an adult and appreciate SPAM as being popular because there was lack of refrigeration and people grew up with it but...   ;D  Have the best day

There was a list on aol of  things that can be used to tell if we are in a recession.   One of them was :the line at The Cheesecake Factory is short.  We went to that place in Ft Lauderdale....talk about over the top fantasy.  It looked like an Egyptian temple or something.  I dont think Spam was on the menu.

I haven't eaten SPAM since I was a child. Mom used to put it in a meat grinder, the metal crank kind you attached to a table with a vice, and mix it with pickle relish and mayonnaise and serve it on Wonder bread. I do occasionally eat SPAM's equally mysterious cousin, the Vienna sausage.

Ick, I do not like Spam. It reminds of that pork they give you at the food bank.
