Didn't think I would live to see this day....
« on: September 23, 2006, 01:55:28 pm »
On Monday, September 25, I turn 40...40...40...

When I was first diagnosed in '93, I really did not think I would live to see 40. I remember thinking that I would not fall in love again, but I did. I remember thinking I would not live to see the year 2000, but I did. And now I am arriving at the 40 year mark. There is a future with hiv. Sometimes it is hard to see, but it is there. I am now looking forward to seeing the 50 year mark!

When I was first diagnosed in '93, I really did not think I would live to see 40.

When I was diagnosed in 1988, I was 28. The doc told me to go home and put my affairs in order because I probably only had six months tops left to live.

Well six months came and went, then 30 and 40 years old came and went. Now I'm 46, and guess what? I'm still here.

This must be that new math thing, which I could never really understand.  :-*
