HIV diagnosis - use it anyway you would like, that's a pretty good attitude!
Not sure why "sleeping with other men" is a problem.  You can have a sex life and still take care of yourself!

I love "sleeping with other men." If only I hadn't been such a cum sponge whore I would have never received this "blessing"  ::)

Still, I love life.

Ps./ Yea, teh Bivens is da man.  I propose a monument.

If your diagnosis makes you realize that you need to make some changes in your life, then that's good.  I'm not sure I see HIV or AIDS as a blessing, however.

For the record, there's nothing wrong with sleeping with other men.  This does not cause you to become infected with HIV.  Only unprotected sex will cause you to become infected.

I spent the first six months of my diagnosis heavily resistant to accepting it, let alone balking at the idea that it could ever be a blessing, but more than a year and half post-diagnosis, yeah, I see now how it can and is a blessing, especially in disguise.

I believe in Life to its fullest extent.

We are fortunate to live in an age to be diagnosed with HIV and succesfully combat it.

I'm not sure what advise Newkrr or Leatherman gave you ...but trust me AIDS is NOT a blessing, it's a virus that is will eventually destroy our bodies...unless of course they can find a cure before that happens.

If you are going to take advise from anyone I suggest you read and take on board what Buckmark posted, but please don't go around thinking you have been blessed.

Take care of yourself, enjoy safe sex with the men in your life, don't make life hard, it's meant to be fun and we only get one chance at enjoying it, so make the most of it.

in the one previous thread that SFH posted in, several people (included myself Newkrr, Hopey, and Ann) welcomed SFH to the forums, congratulated SFH on getting to UD and suggested looking at the AidsMeds lessons. Thinking of HIV as a blessing/catalyst to improving his life is something that SFH brought up on his own and has never been discussed before. I'm sure if you had taken the time to look at the past thread in which SFH has posted (he's only got 3 so far) you'd see how helpful and welcoming many of our members were to SFH. ;)

Speaking of helpful so was Jan's advice . Why do you interpret everything certain people say as if its an accusation , very strange .

Having support from people to help you through a difficult time in your life is a blessing.  The advancements in medicine and treatment is a blessing.  The will to live, and the determination and ability to change things about yourself is a blessing. This disease, that has killed 34 million people, and infects 34 million people, is not a blessing.  You may feel like your life has been on a destructive path, and this may be helping you straighten out a little, but not by virtue of this disease that has ravaged and killed millions of men and women.  Yes, it is easy to think that this is more manageable than you probably thought it was, now that you and I are on this side of the fence.  But, be mindful of the people who do not have access to the care that you may have, and please don't ever think, for once, that there's anything beautiful about this hefty consequence to pay for just being human.

Agreed.

I believe HIV is partly what you make it, at least the mental part. Success of course depends on will and ability.

To some it can act as a saviour and to others its worst case scenario. Whatever an individual feels ,their perspective should be respected. The OP seems to have made a great step in adjusting to his new life and I am delighted to see there are people eager and willing to live on. Good on you :)

About 4 million children dies every year due to malnutrition, how about get some of them into treatment?
