Damn those hills!
« on: August 24, 2011, 10:14:22 pm »
We made it back home late Monday night.  What a fun trip!  The hotel was very nice - the facility itself and the location.   Honestly, I think I like Seattle the most of all the locations we've chosen for an AMG, though it's a tough call between several of them. I also think I walked more than I've ever walked in my life (at any one time).  It must have been something like 12-15 miles one day, and it felt like it was all up hill!  Seriously, it's flat here at home, and I'm just not used to those hills... my feet and legs were killing me.  Still, we had a wonderful time.  It was great to see all the familiar faces, and to meet some new ones.  Plus, it was really cool to have our own 'tour guide'.  I'm looking forward to another trip to Seattle (though I have no clue when that'll be) and to the next AMG.

David:
I'm loving so much hearing everyone's stories of Seattle AMG 2011 -
It sounds like you all had a blast and made more lifelong memories and strengthened lifelong friendships.
Thanks for sharing -
I'm looking forward to meeting you all at the next AMG.
Hope you feet and legs are feeling better - my legs were hurting last week, but it wasn't from walking or going up hills  ;)

If it's any comfort, my legs are killing me too.  I have a "date" (previously arranged...and monthly anyway) with my trainer.  It won't be pleasant (well, he is at least pleasant to look at.)

So glad you and D were able to join us.  I will join the voices to make sure we don't encroach on the first week of school next year.  I also hope Bonnie can rejoin us.  I missed getting the chance to chat with her.

Hope Hurricane Irene keeps out of your business!

I was watching for everyones' arrival notices and missed yours.  Glad you guys are home safe, at least for now.
It was an absolute joyous time in Seattle and each member contributed something meaniful.  Thanks guys and look forward to future gatherings.  Hope you all stay safe with that bitch coming in from the Atlantic.

edited to add;

I too am still sore but it could a combo of walking and dancing like I was 25 again. :o

Well mister it isn't like you weren't warned!  I told you all Seattle was the city of 7 hills!

I so enjoyed AMG 2011.  Seattle was a wonderful choice, the weather was perfect, the hotel was perfect, the location was perfect.  Everything was just well-----perfect!

Hope that Irene doesn't cause you and D too much trouble.

See you next year--where ever we decide I'm planning on going.  (assuming it isn't Fargo  LOL)
