blood exposure
« on: July 22, 2009, 11:40:34 pm »
I am going crazy. I was playing basketball today and while guarding my man his head slammed into my tooth. My bottom tooth was bleeding and there was blood on the top center teeth. I am pretty sure the blood was the other guys on the top two teeth, because the guy had a gash on his head from my top teeth and was bleeding. Wiped the blood off and drank some water and kept playing. Do I need a hiv test or a hep c test. The court has all kind of people in nyc. I am sure the blood was his on the top teeth and my bottom tooth was bleeding is this a risk or can i just forget about it.

No you were not at risk and no you do not need testing. There has NEVER been an exposure by sports and you aren't going to be the first.

jm,

Hep C is a remote possibility. Hiv isn't. However, this is a website that concentrates on hiv. See your doctor if you're concerned about hep C.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

See your doctor. You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV and this forum is HIV specific.
