National Aids Memorial Grove, San Francisco
« on: March 04, 2007, 01:46:44 pm »
As mentioned in an earlier post somewhere, the National Aids Memorial Grove is located in San Francisco; the location of this years gathering.
Free tours of the Grove are offered and last approximately 20 minutes.  I thought this would be a nice addition to the planned schedule of events and possibly followed up with a picnic.

If you plan on attending this years gathering, please post below signifying your interest.  Tours are typically only offered the the 3rd Saturday of each month (between 9am and noon) but I'm sure we could persuade them to make an exception in our case.

AMG Coor.:

I think we have to visit the Memorial Grove.  Whether we have a guided tour, or a couple of members offer to work on making this something similar to our visit to Hope Chapel and our visit to the Toronto Aids Memorial, it's certainly something I'd want to experience.

Hi Mr Coordinator:

Yes I will be attending.  I think you can pretty much plan on everyone attending the AMG will go the gardens.

I usually don't like to volunteer other people, but Jan and Alan did such an incredible job at the Circle of Light in Montreal last September that I bet they would do it again.  They got in touch with the powers that be from the chapel and made the arrangements for our own gathering that it truly was a moving tribute.  I bet they would do it again.

I will go to AIDS Memorial. I agree with earlier post that most of us at AMG will be interested.

Thom and I are in.  This is a MUST do.  And please Dame Jan and Alan, would you please do us one more favor.  You two nailed our memorial in Montreal.  And this site is the US National Aids Memorial Grove.  How can we leave our AMG mark at this hallowed site?  R&T

You can certainly count me in...I have spoken to Alan and hopefully we can come up with something again this year for our AMG memorial.

I think this is something we can do ourself, as opposed to having a tour guide, I have checked the site and we don't need to have a permit or pay any fees if we want to hold a small memorial service just for the group, so Alan and I will be only to pleased to help out, but if anyone else would like to be a part of this and organize something then please don't hesitate in coming forward.

Hugs
