Title: divorced guy with questions
Post by: Divorcedconfused on October 21, 2007, 01:54:52 pm
Im  a bi curious guy who has recently went through a divorce.  I just have questions abt some of the risks I have had. First of all, when I was with females, I always used condoms except for one and she has shown me her negative results. When I was guys, I mainly received a blowjob with no condom on and have engaged in mutual masturbation. One time the guy came on my leg. These are the only things I have participated in.  Was I at risk or should I move on and let it go? I just got scared because someone online said they got HIV from a bj and mutual masturbation. Thanks for answering in advance.

The real risk for anyone whatever their sexual prefrences is unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse. With everything else sexual, as far as HIV is concerned the risk is more theoretical than actual.

For instance, during the entire epidemic there's never been a single confirmed case of transmission to a guy getting a blowjob. Not one and it's safe to say you won't make history by becoming the first. Mutual masturbation is not a risk.

Read our lessons on transmission and testing. You'll a link to them in the welcome thread which opens this section.

Getting back into the dating world after a relationship is over is challenging. Just make sure you keep those condoms handy and USE THEM when you have intercourse.

Lastly, someone else's negative test result doesn't cut it for me. You had an unprotected incident. Personally I would suggest you get test and get your own result. You had a single unprotected incident with a woman. HIV is not easy to transmit. It's significantly harder to accomplish from female to male. So as long as it's 13 weeks or more after that incident you can test anytime now and collect what I expect will be a negative result.

Cheers,
