Random thoughts
« on: March 03, 2011, 10:04:42 pm »
I've went within myself to find something to be grateful for today.  We've had a stressful day on the forums and I hope to change the atmosphere.  I'm not talking about us v's them, but rather just a post to say anything inane and not fear the wrath of others.  I'll start with something stupid;

I had to make a quick trip to the store cause I ran out of wine milk and I only had to go 2 miles.  I saw an SUV flashing his lights at me and I couldn't figure out what was wrong.  Luckily it my my uncle who is the police chief and I guess I drove without headlights.  I'm just grateful he pulled up next to me instead of doing the lights thing.  I'm way too old for that again.

Tim, I was on Immodium  for yrs. it didn't work for me, I'm currently seeing a GI-Doctor
try some Pepto Bismol, (if you like the taste of it) it will work in a pinch for a few days  ;)

Today, in my garden, I planted beets and carrots to go with the broccoli, red radishes, white radishes and white onions that I put into the ground 2 days ago.

Tomorrow morning (lord! how I hate mornings!), I work three hours in my ASO's pantry passing out "taxables". Afterwards I have to pick up one of the exhibition boards and the materials from the prevention dpt. to use when we sponsor a "Safe Spring Break" event at the local university next week - some night event called "Club Chaos". Techno music, hot University boys, and leatherman passing out condoms. w00t!

Then I'm going to spend another couple hrs on the phone at the ASO tomorrow. At a recent "Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day" event, I was able to make arrangements with a rep from "tell them sc" (http://tellthemsc.org), to have her come in to give our clients a presentation about connecting with our legislators about discuss health care issues. Afterwards, I'll use the opportunity to put that advocacy training to work at the state level by gathering more letters for the monthly Letter Writing Campaign that I head up. Then our agency director is going to hold a Client Advisory Board meeting, allowing our clients to be their own advocates at a local level.

Since I initiated this contact, I've been given the opportunity and the responsibility to put this event together, so I've been calling through the client list inviting people to attend. The agencies are going to supply drinks and sub sandwiches, while I'm going to bake a batch of cookies (no lemon bars this time LOL) - so that has helped get some people to say that they'll attend. :D

I'm about half way through the list, and I already have commitments from 10% of our clients who say that they'll attend the two back-to-back meetings. Depending on how well people response in the 2nd half of the list and if a portion of people who received the voicemail that I left also attend then I may have a higher turnout for these two advocacy events than we had for our Christmas luncheon. WooHoo!

and all that without a background check, Wolfie. LOL Oh, I also sent you a PM about pictures and avatars

Apparently I have psychic abilities. True story:

I am at the gym (duh), doing preacher curls and across a crowded floor I see this random guy working out with a couple of dudes. A thought clearly pops into my head: "He Is going to ask how old I am". I start wondering whether I should say I am 44 or that I will be 45 in one month. Which sounds better? Should you really round up or just stick with your age until your birthday. Then I think why in world am I even thinking this? Lift the damn weight!

Ten minutes later I am doing shrugs and someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around, take out my ear buds and it is the random dude. "Hi, my name is Eric. Do you mind me asking how old you are?"

Spooky! :o

So this is my random thought: did I predict the future, did I telepathically read his mind before he asked the question or did I telepathically place the thought in his mind? I'm hoping the third option because that would be way more useful.

always write your post offline or just before clicking POST, touch inside the text box, click ctrl-a (select all), then ctrl-c to copy. then when your post vanishes and you can get back to a new reply box (or pull up a text editor to save your post), you can ctrl-v to paste your reply back.

I do this (ctrl-a, ctrl-c) no matter how short a reply I write since I never know when the internet will fail, time out or just vanish on me LOL

My first random thought this morning was figuring out how I am going to get everything done today and still have energy to cook for my mom and 5 of her friends tonight.  They want me to grill steaks for them as well as make a rum cake.  In the meantime I have to spread pine straw throughout the flowerbeds, stop by the ASO to touch base with my case worker who was not there when I picked up my meds the other day, wash and vacuum the car (AND fill it up with $3.40/gallon gas), do laundry, as well as dust and vacuum the house.

Its 10:00AM and I need to get my butt away from this pc and get a move on.

My semi-random thought is I'm glad I didn't have a mouthful of coffee when I read this as I would have had to clean up my screen and keyboard.

When you figure that out, let me know. Maybe a parallel universe? Might make more sense.

There is something strangely erotic about your comment, depending up which word(s) you emphasis when reading it. Am I sick or what?

that there is NOTHING  :) and I wouldn't DARE go anywhere near the Loves Truck Stop down on University & I-40, I'm afraid of what I might get  ;D and the PRIDE GYM got closed down 2 yrs ago. for selling booze to minors after hrs.  :D

I have  job interview to prepare for, I got finals to study for, my to-do list is quite long, and I'm wondering why I am on here reading all these random posts.

I am at the gym (duh), doing preacher curls

I once did a preacher with curls.    Funny,   he didn't seem to care how old I was.

I hope his wife doesn't find out.

Work is done for the day!  Now I can relax with an ice cold beer before I get the grill ready for supper.  Random thoughts of sleeping well tonight are running through my mind.

Now I just need to figure out to change my pic again.  I look like an overweight accountant.

Relax Wolfie, some of us find overweight accountants hot. Pant pant ;)

My random thought for the day:
Why isn't there a special name for the tops of our feet?

Why does bleach need a tamper proof seal?

You're joking, right?

Actually, no.  As I opened the new bottle, I played hell removing the tamperproof seal.  It's not like I'm going to ingest it.
