Book sharing
« on: April 11, 2007, 06:14:01 am »
A friend of mine is interested in an idea he heard about re book sharing via the internet. Something about leaving details about where specific 2nd hand books can be found for readers who may be interested. Does anyone know anything about this idea? Any website links et al?

Melia :)

Oooo Chris I could never swap any of my precious books. It's actually a friend who's interested in the swap thingy. Will gladly lend you any you fancy though...in exchange for dim sum in June! :D

Ach it's ok you can have them i'm too lazy to sell them on ebay anyway and would only end up throwing them away when I move out in a few months.  I've got a brilliantly pretentious book called 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' it's actually quite good!  Your not getting any of my David Bowie books though they take pride and place in the Bowie shrine.

Melia, this has made me think a bit (something I rarely do once I leave the office.)

We could do this here...like someone could post, "I 've got __________, __________, and ___________," and anyone interested could respond with a PM with an offer for trade and then you mail the books to each other.  It's be a way to make new friends...and I guess give some strangers our mailing addresses...never mind...see I told you I don't think once I've left the office  :-\

Oh a book exchange sounds good!! I like to go to local vegan potlucks that have book exchanges. Now, don't get me wrong...I love a hunk of meat as much as the next woman/man..but they have some great books!

Milan Kundera. Pretentious? Well, if David Bowie is your baseline, what can I say?  :D
