Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

This person who WAS a friend of a friend is an escort. So naturally Im not intrested in that person for that reason alone.
Out on my birthday I got drunk for the first time in a VERY long time.. in fact last time anything was liek that was when I was 22  now Im 39.
I ended up at a hotel my friend and his escort friend were staying at close to the bar scene.

I woke up with my pants off and lube on my ass. I felt a little sore and I ran to the bathroom and washed myself up put my clothes on an had an argument with the escort.

He blamed his actions on being drunk and stupid but the fact remains he had involuntary sex with ME while I was unconscious and that he is admittently Hiv POZ and he SAYS he's undetectable but I'm freaking out here....

Am I a high risk now to catch HIV?   OMG.. I don't know what do do.. do I have to wait 5 more months to get tested to find out.. its been 3 1/2 weeks since this all happened but no one I know knows what to do  :-(

Does Undetectable mean you can be a top and fuck bare and not catch something from that person? Cause that was his argument.. and I think he's full of sh&%.

Please HELP!!!

A 3 month test is conclusive for HIV.

While being undetectable greatly reduces the chance of transmission, it does not eliminate it entirely. So yes, you have had a risk and you do need to test. The fact that he used plenty of lube will also lower your risk a bit as this lessens the chance of damage having happened.

And of course, there are other, more easily transmitted infections you need to get checked out for. You can test for most other STIs now, but syphilis shares a three month window with hiv.

The earliest you should test for hiv is at six weeks, as the vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by this point. A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point, but is highly unlikely to change.
