People testing positive now will have, with access to treatment, a full life span. This means a hundred years give or take.

I have serious reservations about the 'hundred years' (not taking into account stress and diet) but I sure hope you're right.

I am almost passing 7 years. 10 years is not too far. I want to do 30 years which will give me 23 more years and I will die at 59? That's before the retirement age. Something is not matching. 100 is too long I would not want to live that long anyways. If My target is 79 then it will be 50 years living with HIV. Has anyone lived 50 years yet? Nope.. time will tell. Are we numbered? Only a cure could answer that. I just realized again we all die regardless we have HIV or not. That is a sad and a very strange feeling! Since I don't believe in God, This is IT for me!

I would say Jonathan is probably closer to being correct than you think.  Scientists say the first person to reach 150 years of age is alive today (HIV not including).  

Sam, when I was first diagnosed I worried a great deal as to whether I would see my then 3 year old graduate high school.  I've learned a lot since then, and no longer carry such worries.  Life itself is a challenge, and as you are aware nothing is guaranteed.  I enjoy the time here in the right and now, no longer worrying about the what if's.  

I wouldn't say HIV helped me think differently, but it has caused me to look at things in a different perspective.

Both, good and bad....
