I am new to the AIDSmeds Community, although  I am certainly not new to HIV/AIDS.  I have had it since I was born and am now 22.  I have a lot of "living with HIV" experiences but never really any support system whateversoever.  So I decided to sign up here and check it out  :)

Hello and welcome to our lovely community.  I am sure you will find this site is very informational, helpful and also loving and accepting of lots of different opinions.  This site will be what you make of it.  It can be dysfunctional and frustrating at times but mostly its warm and inviting.

Feel free to post as much or as little as you like about yourself at the time you feel it is appropriate.  I personally have put my entire life on this site and it has yet to bite back.  I consider this place a second family to me and love being here and sharing what I can with those I can.

Anyway…. Welcome, you have received my canned greeting deeming you WORTHY of further communication!!!

Til now, that is. Welcome. You can search for past articles on the main poz.com page about teens and young adults who were born with HIV. Hope that helps a little. You'll learn a lot here and laugh a lot too

1/4/07 - CD4 = 200 16% VL = ?
2/9/07 = Started Kaletra/Truvada
3/13/07 = CD4 = 386 22% VL ?

Welcome to the forums. Some post all the time but there are also a lot of "lurkers" like me who post very infrequently. There is a lot of great information and a lot of great people here! I check it out daily because you never know what you'll find!!!

Hello Again,

Just got back from lunch and wanted to formally welcome you to the forums. I responded earlier to a PM you had sent me the other day. Sorry I was late getting back with ya !! Every once in I while I get in those non-communicative moods. you know what I mean? :P


A little about me. I am 55 years of age. Diagnosed positive in 1985, and began my first round of meds in October of 2003, with  t-cell count of 16 and viral load of 500,000. I was certainly one sick puppy !! But doing pretty well these days, except for the neuropathy, and occassional fatigue!!

Current Meds ; Viramune / Epzicom Eliquis, Diltiazem. Pravastatin 80mg, Ezetimibe. UPDATED 2/18/24
 Tested positive in 1985,.. In October of 2003, My t-cell count was 16, Viral load was over 500,000, Percentage at that time was 5%. I started on  HAART on October 24th, 2003.

 UPDATED: As of April, 2nd 2024,Viral load Undetectable.
CD 4 @593 /  CD4 % @ 18 %

Lymphocytes,total-3305 (within range)

cd4/cd8 ratio -0.31

cd8 %-57

72 YEARS YOUNG

With the consideration of implementing a Positive Mental Attitude, it will also assist you on your journey in this life as well as having a Positive Impact on your immune system and your overall health.

In fact, through your Positive Mental Attitude, it will help you push forward through ALL of the obstacles on your path that you are now walking on.

Talking and sharing our experiences with other people helps us see that we are not the only ones with problems. Feel free to come and vent with whatever is on your mind from time-to-time.

Often the act of writing and the ability to “SEE” your feelings leads to therapeutic insights and solutions..

In the interim, you may want to start taking a multi-vitamin, and some Omega 3, because it is all up to YOU where YOU want to be.

Exercise at least three times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes per day, as this will do you good to help keep that unecessary stress away.
