My Blooming Orchids!
« on: September 14, 2008, 12:51:31 pm »
I know many interesting topics have been posted over the years here, but I've never seen a toipc posted about plants! May I take a moment to do so now...

Well , with all this terrible rain that we've had with hurricane Hanah and then with Ike, it seems like my few orchids have enjoyed all this bad and dangerous weather for us humans. When the rain finally stopped, a few days later look what mother nature gave me to my suprise! This dark purple orchid NEVER bloomed with so many flowers. It would only give me like 2-3 flowers a year. Now she's all full of flowers and bulbs about to open soon. They are LARGE and look like they are from some prehistoric vegetation. Just beautiful. Also, a smaller variety of my orchids have also bloomed around the fence of one side of my house. They are just stunning.
With that said, do we have any member here with a taste for gardening and flowers who would like to share a pic of a pretty plant or garden?

Those are gorgeous!  I put up some pictures of my hibiscus plants some time ago, but I have some newer pictures stored still on my camera that I'll try and put up later today. ;)

I only wish I could grow things outdoors like you lucky tropical queens.

Catman,

Those are beautiful!

I love hostas. Here is one in the garden from a couple of years ago (no more recent photo):

Honey, hostas take no skill to grow.  They're basically pretty weeds that grow in the shade.
