Started Triumeq last night.
« on: October 10, 2015, 02:26:33 pm »
I have started Triumeq and while there wasn't really any crazy dreams, it was a rocky night and I woke up today anxious with the weird queasy (or speedy) feeling that others have discussed. When does this taper off? I have switched to Triumeq due to not being tolerant of side effects from other medicines involving Truvada.

I am hoping this regimen works better without a medicinal feeling all day, as I really don't know what else to switch to.

Welcome to the forum . Are you HIV positive or taking meds for PEP ?

You may have to give your meds a few weeks to work through any side effects you may have.

I started Triumeq a little over a month ago....and trust me i have anxiety issues (and not on meds for it).  It prob took me at least 3 weeks to not 2nd guess every twinge and ache and pain. If you want to search my thread on it or others it may help.  I still feel from time to time a little headache but for the most part no other side effects which i am surprised bc I dont have a high tolerance for medication and am NOT a medication person.  When do you take it? I take mine in the morning....i chose that bc i want to know the side effects all day and NOT while im sleeping LOL

I can only take these medications at night. They are crazy to take during the day as that is when the onset of the worst side effects is, which I'd rather sleep through. Honestly, these regimens have got to someday got to get improved.

PittGurl you sound similar to me in your past experiences. Thanks for the heads up I'll get ready for this and try to tolerate it.

Hi dudes. I really cannot share your experience. I take the med with breakfast and have no side effect at all. I have several friends that take it too and no side effect at all.  No one I know would go back to their previous medication!
If you both react so bad you should ask your doctor to switch you to something else, there are other combinations that you may have less trouble with.

I can say they the anxiety was pretty bad at first so bad I wanted to go back to my old regime after a week, but it got better within a few weeks, it's been like 3 months now and all initial side effects are gone. You just need to give yourself a bit of time to adjust.

I had headaches the first month or so too all gone now.

I take mine in the morning and go about my day, it's become a daily auto pilot routine, wake up, take my pill, and forget about it till the next day when my alarm goes off.

I know in my previous regimens, anxiety was a side effect that took 1 week to go away. I am on day 3 and still having anxiety, only now I have to work too as it's Monday. I am just going to rough through it for now and see how I can manage.
