What is to be the fate of the CSI forum?
« on: April 05, 2007, 11:18:59 am »
I see that there is a forum for Women now.  This is a good thing, I feel.

I have a question to anyone who might know... is there any chance that the CSI thread will be gone sometime soon?  Unless I miss my guess, the story arc is over, and the thread seems to be kaput.

Personally, I think that on the whole the whole thing went predictably badly (at least in public, anyway... I can't speak for the PMs that might have been sent or the people who came to this site because of the show).  There were a number of people who seemed to be genuinely interested in HIV/AIDS education... but they were extremely few and far between... and those of us who were here know what ended up happening both in and over that forum.

So... does the CSI forum continue to serve a purpose, or what?

I don't care if it stays up until the world ends, but it would seem a little silly to have it up for months and months, I think.

I think its time to toss the whole thing into the Circular Filing Cabinet of Bad Ideas and pull the chain

Hopefully, a slow painful death that ends up in the "cold case" files.

I believe there is one more episode to air (first part of May if I remember right), then hopefully it will be removed.

HA!  I fought to resist posting in that thing the whole way through!  Some (if not most) of the posts in there from the masses curled my hair in a way that only the best of the AAI? threads could!  Never did see the show at all, so I don't know whatever happened on the whole thing.  Did she get AAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSSS  or what?  I imagine not.  Did she at least go through PEP and hurl and squirt for several episodes?  If so, maybe I should have TIVO'd after all.

I haven't been in that forum since the first week.  Does anyone actually check it out anymore?

I believe there are TWO more episodes - one next week and another at the beginning of May.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Just as some threads in AII run on for 80+ postings over a non-risk "exposure",  I'm sure it'll be milked until it's finally retired.

I thought it would have been over by now.

It was a 4 episode story arc, right?

Whatever.  It's not like I watch the show.

I've had confirmation that there will be a show next week and again in early May. The CSI forum will be closed shortly after the last hiv-related episode airs.

/sigh, seems so unpopular.

Oh well, I'm still doing a vidblog on it which was really more of a tech-test.... which actually helped me solve most of the sound problems I was having.
