Oh yes, that's America biggest problem right now, not enough Christianity. Amazing how even though the great majority of American citizens and lawmakers identify as Christian they always somehow manage to act like they are the victims. In the USA 1.6% of Americans identify as atheist or agnostic, but the 75% of Americans who identify as Christians are the ones whose way of life is threatened. Heavens, they are taking Christmas away from us! Probably 90% of Americans are heterosexual but that damn 10% of gays, bisexual and transwhatevers are just destroying America and, according to Perry, we've just been powerless, powerless I say, to stop them!

SO glad Perry's crack team of speechwriters were able to work in "war on religion" because Americans who aren't at war with something-- terror, drugs, obesity, panty lines-- just aren't real Americans.

What a tool.

Republicans have always been a joke to me.  But, this time, they are all loony---very loony.  Huntsman is the only one I wouldn't totally be scared shitless of becoming prez.  Herman Cain says he's suspending his campaign by using lines from a song in the Pokemon Movie.  Geez.  And, they all have to kiss The Donald's ass.  I don't get that at all.  When did he become a Repub icon and kingmaker?

So, Perry is once again turning to Christianity when things aren't going well.  "I'm a complete idiot, either an outright racist or overlooks it, have put hundreds to death, and seem to be drunk or on drugs, but I love the Baby Jebus."  Seriously, I keep reading how he's either on a lot of pain meds or has a pain med pump.  Not sure what the truth is about that, but his strange appearances make me wonder whether he is too much under the influence of some drug.  If true, he doesn't need to be the one making decisions on pardons/commutations in all those being put to death.

I thought Jack Twist got Ennis' jacket, but apparantly, Rick Perry did.  Perhaps there was a love triangle the movie didn't go into.

The horror of the politics, the prejudice.   yeah....

But lets not overlook the atrocious grammar!  The first two double negatives and I'm lost.

Overall its a string of "magic button phrases" -
christian
pew
Sunday
something wrong
gays can serve openly in the military
kids CANT openly celebrate Christmas
pray in school
end Obama's war on religion
fight liberal attacks on our religious heritage
faith, america, strong, again.

(wtf?  Obama has a war on religion? We can't openly celebrate Christmas?)

It seems one can take random verbs and sequencers (and, but, because, so, yet...) to build any old relation no matter how nonsensical between the magic words, and its a political utterance.

Every election cycle its the same thing.

The B group - People who see these ads as cheap and pandering - and you could be a Dem or a Republican in the b group.

The A group - People who respond to this sort of Neanderthal logic, emotional string pulling, and the fanning of flames of fear, prejudice, and discontent.

At least now we have full media saturation, all the great news analysts/satirists, media savvy activist movements, and youtube for everyone.

I wonder if the A group can really be growing in numbers?  My gut says this can't be possible, in this saturated atmosphere.

...here's Rick defending the ad and explaining what this supposed "war on religion" is

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jb9HkcBPks

Apparently the man thinks that Christianity is the only religion that should be observed in America ~and~ that it should be subsidized by the government...

No wonder he says "you don't have to sit in the pew every Sunday"... with the government funding your church's programs, you don't need to be "in the pew" when the collection plate is passed around.

dumb dumb dumb dummy.
can't manage some easy pandering to the religious right AND talking around it with a journalist.
He doesn't seem to understand either game.
Can he listen to his handlers and tie his shoes at the same time?  Doubtful.

when and why was the gov't ever supposed to be funding churches? Oh that's right, when Bush et al decided to improperly support public healthcare and turned those responsibilites over to "faith-based" organizations.
