Did she have HIV? Stressed for two months
« on: February 12, 2013, 12:00:34 pm »
Hey, I'm 21 one years old and a recent graduated pharmacy tech student. December 22 I had unprotected sex three x's with a girl who I recently found out she was on crack but had been clean for two years, I noticed when we had sex it felt like something was biting my penis when I was inside her, even after it felt like that so I got a full std screen December 30 which was negative, shortly after that my mouth began to get dry what I thought was thrush, I thought it came from smoking because I've had it before. January 22 I woke up in night sweats and muscle soreness and feeling slight dizzy neck pain so I went to the ER, the doc gave me a hiv test and other test which were negative, and he said I tested negative for thrush but said my white blood cell count was low and referred me to a free doctor to do blood work, and all that came back normal also, on the 24th of January I got an hiv Oral home test and it was negative also, in a week almost two the symptoms are gone but I stil have the white tounge, I recently noticed my two thumb nails have a bump and my left big toe has a brown line going down I also have swollen nodes in under my jawline but they aren't so big and don't hurt and in grown but aren't big either and are painless, the girl went to go get tested and Is waiting on her results on valentine day. Could the change in my nails be due to stress? I know after I has sex with her my cousin kept saying you got aids even before I had all these symptoms, I also notice a slight pain in my groin but don't have it anymore. The girl also said she teased negative prior to us but she had unprotected sex 3 months before us after her test

If I read you correctly, your last unprotected sexual encounter was on December 22nd. A test taken now would be considered all but definitive, but a test at the three month window is still the gold standard for HIV infection.

Sadly, you will simply have to wait until the end of March and test again. Though HIV is significantly more difficult to pass from female to male than the other way around, you did have a risk and you do need to test.

I am afraid your symptoms are much too vague to be discussed. Symptoms of primary HIV infection are not caused by the virus itself, but rather by the body's production of antibodies. When they occur, they are usually flu-like symptoms, but they A) can sometimes be so extreme as to send someone to a hospital, or B) can be so mild that they are ignored. For that reason, we don't discuss symptoms much here if we can help it.

A test taken now should give you peace of mind, and if it is negative, there is no reason why it wouldn't remain that way when you take your definitive test in a month.

Of course I don't have to remind you to use condoms going forward.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

Thanks for replying, all my fiends keep telling me I'm fine; but its so wired because all this has been happening after I had unprotected sex with her I've been trying to research to see could my symptoms be caused by another std but so far from what I see its unrelated.  I haven't had any fever not that I know of or I haven't had any rash, I've been looking on this site since day one and I want to tell you, you guys are awesome, if a person Is infected with hiv and you have unprotected sex with them will you experience pinching on your penis while inside, like it felt like krusty the crab was inside her pinching my penis lol.

No. A person doesn't know that they have been infected. There is no abnormal feeling in a vagina or anus.

Okay,  but with the testing that I've done do ou think I could still be positive, I've read changes in nail is a sign of something is wrong with your body. Did this happen to anybody if they tested positive ? Or could it be due to stressing since December. I've also called hiv hotlines when I first started going through this and they said non of it was hiv related, and ars is the worst flu ever because your body is trying to fight the virus but now I am informed that it depends on your body. I tested negative two times one moth of exposure. So could these symptoms be all in my head?

If you read Jk's advice again carefully you will see that to keep going over and over the symptoms you are having that are in no way specific to HIV is not a productive endeavor to keep fixating on . If you read this thread again all of the questions you just asked have been answered .
