I was having anal sex and the condom broke HELP NEEDED!!!!
« on: March 04, 2013, 03:58:39 pm »
I had anal sex with a transsexual a few nights ago and I'm 100 percent sure she is not a sex worker any who as we was having sex I stop and thought the head part of the condom broke it was only later I found out it was a hole on the side aka shaft part of the condom(since I didnt finish I did the water test with the condom in which you pour water in it and see if it leaks) now I pull out once while we was having sex and felt the condom no tears so when it did tear I probably was still in from 30 seconds to a minute, how high is my risk and what should I do??

Ra,

It doesn't matter whether or not the person you had sex with was a sex worker. What does matter is that you used a condom. People are not high or low or no risk, ACTIVITIES are high or low or no risk. It's not WHO you do, it's HOW you do it that matters.

It sounds as though you only found a hole in the condom when you did the ill-advised "water test". The "water test" is ill-advised because doing so can cause a condom to break, thereby freaking you out for no good reason.

It sounds as though you were the insertive partner. If this is the case, then your risk (assuming the condom broke before you messed around with it afterwards) is very much on the lower end of the scale. You'd be wise to test, but you would also be wise to test at least once a year anyway.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Like the title says I was having protected anal sex with a transsexual and let me described what happen. As I was guiding my penis into her anus after a few pokes the tip of the condom breaks I heard it and pulled out fast(like with 3 seconds fast since I heard it) I then had another condom and put a lil lube on and intercourse ensued, but later on I heard the condom snap and like the first time I pulled out fastt(like with 3-5 seconds fast since I heard it) Now my question is lets assume my partner was positive whats the risk of me contracted HIV from this situation?
its been close to 3 weeks ago my doc told me to wait until the 4 week to take the test then again 6-8 weeks after because the 4th week its only like 75 percent accurate or something like that

anyway my questions are lets assume my partner was positive whats the risk of me contracted HIV from this situation? and what is the minimum time I can take the test?

Being the insertive partner, you did have a risk, however the risk is lower for the insertive partner.  You can test at 6 weeks past this incident and then at 12 weeks to confirm the results.

I cannot qualify your risk other than to say it was low risk.  Based on what you describe, you were protected until the condom failed, so I expect you to come out of this negative.
