Oral dilemma!!!
« on: September 03, 2014, 10:46:51 pm »
I'm a 28 year old male who attended a wedding on Saturday 8/30 about 6 hours from my hometown. I met another 20 year old college male on a online app. I met up with him at his dorm and on the way in I asked if he does this a lot and the said no.

We went into his room and undressed and laid next to each other. I rubbed his scrotum and jerked him off while I liked hugs nipples. I then said I've never done oral and the said give it a try. I performed oral for about 30-45 seconds and then we stroked each other till we ejaculated. I cleaned up and left.

On my ride home I texted him and asked if he was clean. He lol'ed and said yes, but my anxiety kicked in days later and I asked again. He said he was clean. I again became anxious and repeated called and texted the guy and it was not until I blocked my number that I got him to pick up. He said he was tested a month ago and I said I ended proof and he said no and something to the extent of get my own proof and hug up on me.

I been having semi night sweats, headaches, and other minor "symptoms." This could be because I was stressed about telling my girlfriend what happened (yes shame on me) and that I'm going back to school to teach (stressful).

I took a Oraquick test 3 days after exposure and visited a doctor who said that would be useless at this time.

Side note that I don't have any cuts or sores in my mouth and I'm pretty sure I did not brush my teeth (let's just say I did though).

What do you think if any is my worry for exposure. Thank you!

You have not had a risk for HIV . HIV is sexually transmitted from unprotected anal and vaginal sex . I do not blame the guy for being angry with you ... if you want to kno your status then you should test, your test is the only HIV test that matters . Referring to a negative person as clean is to infer that those that live with HIV are dirty and leads to stigma, in short its offensive and hurtful to some people so I would avoid the term in the future, especially on a HIV web site .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI.Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

For future reference incase you ever have an actual risk, here is the correct testing window period .

The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. Most who are infected will test positive by 6 weeks. For various reasons a small number will take longer and that is why we follow the CDC recommendation to test at 3 months for a conclusive negative result.

I'm sorry but it seems you took offense to the "clean" remark. I apologize for the labeling and do not think of it in only connection to this scenario. I will try to watch my language next time.

And just for self assurance, I will Oraquick kit it at 22 days.

Apologies and thanks again!

Hi Jeff... I subscribed, need to talk and update someone about what's been happening...

So... I took the Oraquick test 7 days after possible exposure and it came back negative, but I still am not putting a lot into that information only 7 days after.

I went to the doctors to do a STD Blood/Urine Test. During the visit, I asked 4 different people in the hospital and 3 out of 4 said the chances of transmission are slim slim to none.

Im just still freaking out!

Should I have a piece of mind or no?

You did not have even a hint of a risk for HIV ... there is little more we can do than say no one has ever been infected with HIV from engaging in the sex you described ... not one single person in the history of the world has been infected in that manner . Your fears are not fact based and since you continue to ask and payed to ask more questions when we made it very clear you did not have a risk you may want to talk to your doctor and let them know you are having irrational thoughts and fears . Best of luck .

Okay... I'll keep you (And everyone reading) updated on everything.

Also, forgot to mention I contacted the individual to apologize for my craziness (Since this was all new to me) and just get one final answer from him. He said he was tested last month and was negative to HIV and everything else, but has been with others since then.

Last question... Do you think I'm looking to much into the symptoms (One night sweat, one bad headache, aches (Some I already had), and sore throat) then? That's the thing playing with my mind the most!

Of course your making too much out of symptoms you didn't have a risk . Since you asked this question it shows that nothing I have said has sunk in . I wish you had not bought a subscription because doing so does not entitle you to go endless rounds asking questions on a no risk situation .

This is why we include this in the posting guidelines ....     Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

So quick update for the viewers... I took a STD Blood test last Friday and got my results today!

Tested negative for Gonnarae, clymadelia,  and syphilis. Was very relieved and am a bit at a piece of mind that the guy was telling the truth!

Ahhhhhh big breathe...
