Title: Anyone in Bangkok?
Post by: KTW1414 on August 11, 2012, 05:24:23 am
Hi, all. When last I wrote, I was having trouble with my meds. I was taking Efavirenz + Truvada and the Efavirenz kicked my butt!

All seems well for now (fingers crossed). I'm now taking Isentress + Truvada. It's going great (just expensive). However, I would really like to talk to some other people living with HIV, just have a cup of tea and be around some other +people. I've been + myself for 8 years but have only just begun treatment 2 & 1/2 months ago, so this part of it is all quite new to me.

The issue is that I'm visiting a doctor and getting treatment/meds in Bangkok and don't know any other +people I can talk to in person (or by phone) about anything. My doctor is good but he's really - clinical, antiseptic - I don't know the right word for it. Anyway, it's not his job to be my friend, right?

I've said all that to say this: My next visit to BKK will be Sept 23-26. I'd love to meet up with anyone who's positive and will be in the BKK area at the same time. So if that's you, please drop me a line. Or if you have +friends who live in BKK, please put them in touch with me. I'll be continuing my treatment in Bangkok for at least the next 1-2 years, so I'd love to meet some other folks getting treatment there.

Thanks, and I'll look forward to hearing from you.

BTW, how do people put those nifty closings with all your numbers and treatment history on here? Is there a way to do it automatically or do you just cut and paste every time?

Welcome here! I am in Bangkok most of the time. There is a support group at Anonymous Clinic and quite a few members on this website. You could do a search on 'Bangkok' or 'Thailand' to find out more or PM me. All the best!

Click on the Profile button - it's near the top of any page in the same line that starts with the red Home button.

Once in your profile, hover your pointer over the Modify Profile button, in the same line that starts with the red Profile Info button (again near the top, this time underneath the blue Welcome bar).

When you hover over the Modify Profile button, a drop down list will appear. Click on the Forum Profile link - it's the second one down on the list.

Once you're on the Forum Profile page, scroll down until you see the section called Signature. Write your information in the box provided.

Once you've got everything written down, scroll down a little further and click on the Change Profile button.

Hope that helps!

PS - you may also notice a box for Personal Text on your Forum Profile page. This will give you the text that appears under your username and avatar on the left-hand side of any of your posts. For example, my Personal Text reads "It just is, OK?" ;D
