dating the toothless
« on: December 27, 2010, 03:29:54 am »
and ruthless. so i went on a date. well...i had a guy show up at my door. he was cool. and then he smiled and was missing like 4 teeth. and the other ones weren't necessarily fit for duty. so, he hung out for like a few hours. really cool guy but i could not get pass his teeth.

i know this makes me a superficial bitch. but damn...like i started wondering about too many other things. the thought of putting my tongue in that (and i've put my tongue in some pretty scandalous asses) was not appealing. but there was good conversation. there was also some pretty good video game playing and movie watching. we had a good time.

so, what should i do? i want to at least be friends with him because he's a nice dude. if his teeth were hooked up then i would be like...you know, up on it. i just don't know how to proceed at this point. both options seem fucked and pretty mean. then again, you'd think certain things would be disclosed or made known. well...at least i hope certain things would be disclosed, but really, how the fuck do you disclose that? and yes, a picture says a thousand words. it's just a really big rock to get over.

he's negative too and he's cool with my status. it is even more important that im cool with my status but dude, like the dueling voices in my head are driving me crazy. i don't want to be this superficial but i have to wonder what else he would be willing to let go of. i know it is stupid, and i don't even know how to get to the bottom of it...like how did this missing teeth thing happen, could it be rationalized and should it be rationalized?

i do a decent amount of upkeep and im just confused. wait, i know i have made up my mind but it seems like such a cowardly compromise. like, we'll just be friends and maybe he'll get his teeth fixed is what i have decided.

man, but being poz makes the hypocritical nature of this even more biting. in my head the counter to this is i go to my drs, i eat better, take my medicine and have had a good lifestyle change. he's not doing that with the teeth. and it is not a tooth accident. i believe i saw decay on other teeth. as mentioned earlier...how far down the rabbits hole do i want to go with this one.

okay, im sorry. i know this is a stupid stoner rant. and yes, i'm ashamed to post this. it is kinda funny how after being on this website for 3 years i've become somewhat shier about revealing certain things. you all feel more like family and this is no longer like anonymous disclosure.

best,
d

Hey D. The first thought that comes to my mind is "meth mouth". If you've not heard of it before, google it. And make sure you do an image search on it too. If it is meth mouth, that makes me wonder if he really does accurately know his hiv status.

I don't think you're wrong to be wary of getting physically involved with this guy and for more reasons than just the teeth alone. If he has had a bad enough meth problem in the past for it to lead him to lose teeth, there's no telling if he really has the problem under control. It seems to me that your gut instincts are telling you this guy is a no-no. Go with your gut instincts. The main times in my life where I've gotten in a bad way were when I ignored my instincts.

And don't think that just because you have hiv you're being a hypocrite to turn others down because of a problem like this. You don't have to settle for second best just because you have a virus.

Hmmm... maybe you should just ask him what happened. It may be something completely different to meth mouth. And don't forget that many people don't have insurance, many people have piss-poor insurance and even those with good insurance often don't have a decent dental policy. Dental care is damn expensive and he may simply not be able to afford it.

Hope you had a nice holiday.

D- You date a lot!  I love your ability to jump right back on that horse.  Keep it up as one day you'll find your prince or maybe settle for a duke.  If his teeth are a deal breaker, then it is.  I think I'm with you in that if someone isn't keeping their dental health properly maintained, then it probably manifests itself in other areas.

well kept teeth are what I always look at first. That is just me.

This does bring up a bit of a problem I have here. Three people we know have that horrible sinus breath which can knock you off your stool. It is probably tonsil stones   (  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillolith  )
which are easily removed, but how or should I tell them?
Sometimes it is easier to roll down the windows of the car instead of telling someone they smell.

I used to hook up with a toothless homeless man back in the day, he had a killer uncut banana dick with extended draperies, and his body was perfect -- I'm not sure how he managed that nice 6-pack in between the crack hustling.  Cute face, nice cheekbones.

You girls are horrible and judgmental.

Of course.  I even packed him a couple pork chops for wherever he was going after our trick.

I've also scored a guy with a glass eye, and another with one testicle -- neither were homeless though.

He might have been born that way, but still, that's not your fault now is it?  I think asking him if he has a meth problem or if he simply forgot to brush his teeth his entire life is highly appropriate.

If I may, let me share a story with you.  This all occurred when I was around 25, extremely good-looking, and single.  I dated this girl named Sonya who I have mentioned on here often as being the lil freak with the Indian dream catcher tattoo across her back.

Sonya was beautiful and had a body that her momma said was made for the stage, she was a stripper.  Sonya was, not the momma.  She was good at everything and very flexible.... and she wore those hazel contact lenses that really turned me on!

Good in bed and the kitchen as well, what more could a man want?

Dee....  dookie breath was the deal breaker.  I mean deep rooted shit smell coming from something decaying inside my beautiful stripper princess.  It was sad... it was so hard to overcome.  To make matters worse sometimes you could actually taste it....  man, I wonder if she ever got that worked out.

It did have it's benefits though, stripper tips put a nice sound system in my 94 Honda Accord..  Maybe this guy will be free with his money, it's not like he's wasting it on dental hygiene.

If the breath turns you off, its a deal breaker if nothing can be done about the breath. Sometimes nothing can be done, sometimes the person doesn't care.

I also think sometimes the breath is just insufferable because there is no chemistry between the two potential lovers.

A rotting mouth is a perfectly acceptable reason not to date someone.

On the other hand, there's nothing unusual about getting turned on by someone's filth - Genet wrote a lot of books about this kind of reverse aesthetics.  And sometimes you can get turned on despite someone's filth.

Fucking with a horse hung homeless isn't the same as dating or falling in love, after all.   Everything in its place.

Hey D,

Maybe he has another disability other than HIV?  Here in California, we (people with Medi-Cal) lost our dental a couple of years ago with a Gov. Schwartzennegger budget.  Now some dental colleges offer minimal dental program which is limited to 1 extraction per visit and emergency dental only.  Others such as University of the Pacific offer full dental to people who have HIV IF, they live in San Francisco.  Proof of residency with a lease or utilities in the persons name is required documentation for any treatment.

There is an advertisement on late night TV called "Clear Choice", a dental organization offering dental implants.  A person can go to any of their offices, have all of their teeth removed, 3 implants on the upper and 3 implants on the lower put it and walk out with beautiful teeth in 8 hours.  The cost is between $20K and $30K for this service.

The same person could board a plane for Costa Rica and have the same procedure done for $7.5K and probably cheaper in Mexico after a 4 hour drive across the border.   Dental insurance is expensive and many offer services limited to $1K per year which makes Costa Rica a better option because the dental patient can also enjoy a tropical vacation at the same time.

Here on the Russian River we have only 1 dental office and the area has a huge meth problem.  A town called Camp Meeker is commonly referred to as "Camp Tweaker" and another, Rio Nido is commonly known as "Real Needle."  It is not by coincidence the dental clinic is rarely busy   ;D  Have the best day

Living here in Costa Rica, we see plenty of tourists come down here for dental procedures.
It is way cheaper for them to fly down here and stay a few days than pay for a simple procedure in the states!
I have never met a doctor here who doesn't speak English....
There is also a fun gay B&B two blocks from one of the best dentists!

Hey Hoover,

Which dental clinic in Costa Rica would you recommend?  I had a partial upper made here in California at a RWCA Title II funded clinic which was the biggest piece of trash ever in my mouth.  There is nothing more unpleasant than a huge plastic thing lining the roof of the mouth.  Some of my gal pals have gone to Costa Rica for chemical peels and other elective surgeries, breast implants but no dental implants.  BF is fluent in Spanish, has been to Costa Rica many times and we have been talking about dental implants.   ;D  Have the best day

Thank you Hoover,

These Forums are easily accessible through the search engines so posting your email address is not a good idea.  You may end up with thousands of unwanted email for products you never wanted or needed and/or the opportunity to make thousands of dollars each and every week from some far away land when the sender really wants your bank account numbers.

I participated in a survey once on Facebook and my phone started ringing at 6:00 AM, then I had to change my email address because companies such as Proactiv thought I need product for pimples and acne.  I will be 60 years old in a few months.  If you go back to the post, click on "modify" and delete your email address you can enjoy your right to privacy   ;D  Have the best day

Michael,

Not a problem here, that address is only for such times as this.
My real one is associated with my business and is never for public viewing......
We have been working through the internet since almost its' beginning and know all the secrets.

Give a yell and I will get you in touch with the doctor.
I really need to get a list of all the various doctors for friends who want to come down to take advantage of it. Costa Rica is a great place to visit, but you have to be insane to live here!

You seem very young and handsome to have had a face lift , were you in the sun allot or have an accident ?

When I say total, I mean total!
We were cut everywhere and now we shave behind our ears.
The eyes were the easiest part and never hurt a bit.

My story is of growing up obese in South Texas on the beach every weekend.
(Being fair skinned, almost red headed and blue eyed, I have lots of skin issues)
At my largest I was wearing a 36" pants at 14 years old!
After dropping down to my present 29" all the fat left my face looking like rubber man.
I could pull lots of skin without any trouble. Nothing like being in your 20s with large crow's feet.
At 45 my partner and I both got the facelifts one day apart so we could suffer together.
My partner got better results due to his oily skin and many people mistake him as being younger even though he is 15 years older. Who says you have to age gracefully? Between that and the testosterone implants, we are feeling great. Damn this HIV thing......

My partner got better results due to his oily skin and many people mistake him as being younger even though he is 15 years older. Who says you have to age gracefully? Between that and the testosterone implants, we are feeling great. Damn this HIV thing......

You sound as if you look and feel better about yourself and that's the important thing .

My friend that had his eyes done last week was in my city yesterday to have his stitches taken out , we had lunch afterwards . I'm telling you though , it looked painful , the guy has some healing still to do .

I told my friend yesterday if it cost that much to be pretty I was just gonna save my money for pretty hookers and forgo the pain part .

Due to my age, I didn't require stitches with my eyes.
Yes we both look and feel better about ourselves and find each other attractive.
The plan now is to spend the kids inheritance on good drugs and pretty hookers.

Cheers from rainy paradise.

My story is of growing up obese in South Texas on the beach every weekend.
(Being fair skinned, almost red headed and blue eyed, I have lots of skin issues)
At my largest I was wearing a 36" pants at 14 years old!

Never thought of wearing a 36" waist as being obese, guess I need to start the New Year's diet today rather than next week.... :)

Yeah, I'm 5'6" tall, wear 36" waist pants, and have a BMI of 34.2, which is considered obese. So yes, height has a lot to do with it.

I hooked up with a homeless dude but didn't realize it until the day after.  I also didn't realize he was mentally disabled until the day after either.

Growing old gracefully? Wot da hell is that? Too late. Missed that op without regrets.

And bad breath is sometimes about the person being constipated. With that stuff stacked up in there they open their mouths to chat and you hear a crow fall off a fence 50 yards away.

If you have to hold your hand discreetly over your nose or turn away, I would say it ain't happening. No way no how any body parts of mine are entering into that cave. And that's how it is.  Contrary to what some may say, I do have SOME standards.

You know, I left the Los Angeles beach cities for a very poor county in Northern California (1999) my new doctor asked/said, "Your chart says you are 50 and you do not look a day over 35".

Doctor you have just become my new best friend.

This year, I am going to be 60, starting a new life in San Francisco and will resume attending HIV funding meetings, sending press releases letters to the press and being an activist.  Ann is going to change my screen name to oceanbeach.

When I had the money for corrective surgery, there was nothing to correct.  Always thought I'd be a candidate for that later but now I only want the sculptra treatment.

Being from Los Angeles, I respect a persons right to take whatever means necessary to help themselves in feeling better about themselves and attractive to others.  I grew up in the right town to know that.   ;D  Have the best day

strangely enough...

i ended up having a one night stand this weekend. im not sure if dude is going to be a repeat offender, aka, somone who wants to date or be a fuckbuddy. the later is not really an option at this point.

but....strangely enough, he came over. and he had all of his teeth. and a dog.

yeah...he was 2 years older than the last one, ex military as well (left that part out), a bit taller than me at 6'1 and stronger than me. he also weighs more than me. it is funny how things work out.

i wonder if he looks like mtd :)

I swear D, your stories keep me laughing. Personally, I can't deal with a person with bad breath or bad teeth. I dated a guy once who was fine as hell but his breath was kicking, as in one hitter quitter, as in Woooooah back the hell up, you get my meaning. I mean he would chew gum but it still was not helping. I couldn't do it and I really tried. There is no way that I could go with someone who was missing their teeth or had some type of rot in their mouth. I wouldn't even want to kiss him much less do anything else. I was also thinking "meth mouth" too though I don't know much about meth.

As for the second guy with the dog, at least he has teeth...lol...Just make sure he's licking you and not the dog or else I expect to see a post about doing it with the dog...lol...sorry bad joke but I couldn't resist..

I have an sti...you were the last person I had sex with. I left out my unfortunate and reoccurring experience with this bug. Yeah...im sure it was him....I don't get out hoeing as much as I used to. Damn...I think im going to try vagina but fear ill end up in the same boat : )
