What IS Inside of Pandora's Box?
« on: January 10, 2007, 06:08:46 pm »
Inside Pandora's Box
There Are A Bunch of Goodies For US

TRUE FRIENDSHIP: the quality or state of being

For I take a piece of this Positive Glowing Energy of my Friendship and I give a piece of it to each and every one of you.

For if you break off a piece of what I have given you and give a piece to everyone that you meet, this Positive Glowing Energy will grow.

For if you do not give it away to all that you meet, then it will shrink and eventually fade away to nothing.

The Moral?:

FRIENDSHIP and LOVE, the more you give, the more you get!

CAUTION: As you exit this thread be on the lookout for a Powerful Positive Force of Glowing Energy of my Friendship that is coming your way to wherever you may be right now. Catch It! It is Positive and Reassuring!

Dude you are prolly going to be only the second person ever to get banned from here.

Everyone has tried to tell you and you are just not getting it.

They don't mail you a badge or anything either when they do so...  You just get a message when you try to log on saying "BANNED"

I know this because I got banned from Turtles.com..lol
I despise the song Love is in the Air, you should too.

Hey 2,

What IS your reason for getting mad at the World? What are you solving by doing this? Nothing. Keep this negativity out of my thread and into your own thread. It is PROHIBITED HERE.

You have been reported to the Moderators for your behavior. I have done nothing wrong to you so I DO NOT deserve to have such treatment from you.

ASK yourself...Would YOU want to have someone acting in such a manner and speaking the way you are? No. if you say otherwise it is a LIE and the TRUTH is not in you and it is an ILLUSION.

Eldon,

I usually don't have a problem sharing if someone needs something more than I do. I'm not really into sharing things of a personal nature because of being betrayed so much in the past. I have to see where a person is coming from...mentally and emotionally...

I like the Cinderella and the shoe connection, if I didn't know you had love for me, I woulda took it as an insult  :P but seriously, I really can't listen to music anymore other than in my car and very loud since I have lost my hearing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Pandora a figure in Greek mythology who had a box which, when opened, unleashed chaos and anarchy upon those who were foolish enough to open it?

After listening to Bush speak last night, I now believe the myth.

Actually, Doxie, it was "greed, vanity, slander, envy, pining—leaving only hope inside..."  according to the irrefutable source Wikipedia.  If those are gifts I'm getting out of the line.

Hey Guys,

If you go back to the inital post, it was "specified" what is being given to you. No room for analytical measures. That is called a variation of what was originally said and we all know what the meaning of a variation is.

I humbly and sincerely suggest you select a more suitable icon/symbol of your good wishes than one whose fame lies in bringing curses upon humanity.

Eldon, sometimes there is no good in a bad situation.  It's just bad.  We all live with the good and bad in our lives and if we're lucky there are not too many bad situations.  For example, please tell me what was good about hurricane Katrina?  What about the WTC bombings in 2001?  The Oklahoma City bomb before that?

Hey Guys,

Timmy and Marco: You are welcome!

Hal: "Shoulds" are expectations for oursleves that we typically fall short of. They are usually unrealistic and not as important as we might think. In this case with "shoulds" it sets us up for disappointment and self-hate.

What would you have chosen for a variant?

Boo:I see that you are sensitive to the events in which had occured in our past history. That's it, the past is the past and we are living in the here and now.

You both are missing the point here. I am extending my hand of friendship to each and every one of you. It is up to you if you choose to receive my friendship. If not, you know what to do rather than the act of justification and/or analytical measures being taken.

What purpose does this serve?

It serves the purpose of general discourse among civilized people.  Or maybe less civilized, sometimes.

Who has refused your friendship?  If I didn't consider you at least an acquaintance if not exactly a friend I wouldn't read your posts or respond.  You've got to remember that for every action there is a reaction.  You take a lot of action at AIDSmeds, Eldon,  and I simply react.   I do not intend disrespect but simply ask questions or post remarks.

GREAT THREAD ELDON....THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP!  RIGHT BACK ATCHA!

What do I see in Pandora's Box?  The PAST which is now GONE and the FUTURE which is, at this point in time, FANTASY.  Practically speaking both the past and the future are FANTASY since we can do nothing concrete about them NOW.  They serve as guideposts to the here and now...reference points to what WAS and what CAN BE occurring for us now.  When we see or experience chaos and anarchy.... hopefully we change directions (in the case of a flood....head to higher ground) so this is how the power of good can come from a bad situation.  We all have our own Pandora's Box....in my box there are numerous small doors instead of one big one....behind one door lies bareback sex....which led to me contracting HIV.   If I continue to open that door I will complicate my life by contracting another STD.  In ALL situations, no matter how bad they are, there is always the option of CHANGE (or HOPE for change), which can lead to many GREAT things.

A HUGE
THANK YOU
TO EACH AND EVERY PERSON WHO CONTRIBUTES HERE!!

XOXO

Boo:I see that you are sensitive to the events in which had occurred in our past history. That's it, the past is the past and we are living in the here and now.

OK, I finally realized you're referring to the events of hurricane Katrina, 9/11, and the Oklahoma City bombing, referred to in one of my posts.

Of course we are living in the present, Eldon.  That's stating the obvious!

If you have had no past events which changed you or your life considerably you've lead a very lucky or very restricted life.  People change after events like 9/11 (not ALL people but certainly those most affected) and live in the here and now.  As Doxie said, our lives are composed of past and future along with today and both have an impact on today.  I'm in shock almost every day from hurricane Katrina because over one year later the city I love is making very slow, unsteady progress in rebuilding.  If you lived in a city like London or Dresden before WWII and returned to them afterwards you'd be affected by the enormity of war's consequences.

If I didn't have a sense of humor, which is my positive side dealing with issues, I'd have died long ago.  The reason I rely on humor and not emotion or intellect is I know this world is a very hard place for many if not most of its inhabitants.  As a Westerner I know I am very lucky in the material sense.  My sense of humor enables me to deal with life's problems and tragedies more easily and, as far as I'm concerned, more realistically.   When my best friend died from AIDS there was a point at which I stopped hoping Glenn would live and began hoping he would pass on soon.  His death still affects me, even though it was almost 9 years ago, for reasons I won't detail here in the interest of brevity (too late!!).  I am living in the present.

Eldon, please don't misunderstand me.  I appreciate your positivity and don't respond to most of your posts with questions or counterpoints but sometimes I feel forced to respond.   I am not alone in finding some of your "positive messages" to be overly simplistic.   It's your right to look at life  from your lens but you must allow others to do the same.  When you post a message and I have anything to add, or I'm unsure or in slight disagreement, I may respond with my point of view, sometimes being silly or nonsensical.  It's part of what these forums are about.

Hey All,

Actually it is whatever you want to be inside of your own box. You choose what goes inside of your personal box. As you know it, I choose friendship, positive energy and much more.

Boo,

I too went through a major Hurricane with Andrew. It was a devastating storm which left a sting for South Florida. It was amazing to see everyone get together in UNITY and help each other unconditionally regardless of who or what they were.

Hurricanes are a direct result from the balance of Nature that is taking place. Just as the Earthquake in Japan the other day, it is Nature retaining its balance on the Earth.

Enjoy your GIFT!

We all live with the good and bad in our lives and if we're lucky there are not too many bad situations.  For example, please tell me what was good about hurricane Katrina?  What about the WTC bombings in 2001?  The Oklahoma City bomb before that?

Boo

These events have made some of us realize that it's what's INSIDE a person that makes them who they are, like the doctors and nurses who euthanized their terminal patience to end their suffering, from looking at them you would never have thought they would have done this, the WTC - we as a country can join together to help out our neighbors no matter their sex, race, illness or orientation,  Oklahoma City - even the boy next door could be a terrorist, what you see on the outside can be deceiving.  It's what's inside that truly counts.

Well, being that Pandora (to me) is a girl that goes to the same swingers club parties me and the wife go to, i have seen my wife inside her box and her husband inside her box and one other guy inside her box.

Just sayin' its all how you look at things.
LIFE is not a race to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well-preserved body, but, rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A
RIDE!!!

Ac,

She had more than just a guy inside of her box. LOL! Yes, it is how you look at things.

It seems like your wife and a few guys had fun with Pandora.  Didn't you get to enjoy Pandora?  ;)
