I saw a bit about it in Headline News this morning. Even Robin, who showed a video of the report, had a WTF look on her face. Personally, I'd think our biggest threat is narrow-minded extremist of just about any type. She certainly fits that description!

I love it when they call it a 'lifestyle'. I mean, on one hand are major closet queens: straight-acting, married, with kids, and leading a deceitful heterosexual 'lifestyle'. Then, on the other hand, we have flaming faggots that pretend to be nothing other than what they are. They may have a fierce sense of style (did I use the term correctly?), be funny as hell, and live with another man as any couple would. This is the 'lifestyle' to which these extremist object? I take it that it's the actual sex itself that's so abominable. I always want to ask these folks "So, a celibate gay man or lesbian is ok, as long as they don't act gay or lesbian?" I wonder how they would respond.

Copyright violation. The people posting the video don't own the rights to it. The rightful owner is presumably doing a DMCA notice thing with GooTube.

About a year ago I tried to email the President, which I use to do about twice a year, but couldn't find his address on whitehouse.gov. So I emailed the VP instead. I'm just wondering, how much trouble could I get into if I emailed this woman on her website, and told her she was an ignorant idiot, without using any profanity?

I feel ya here, hon. One of the things that gets me mad at myself about the whole POZTM thing is that I hate giving any of the people like that the satisfaction of it. OK, here I am explaining. My take was that everytime someone stabs at the gays and lesbians they turn out to be gays and lesbians. IE Larry Craig and that horrid little preacher with the meth and hooker. And she does look like the steriotypical lesbian, as a gay guy I have no problem saying when a guy looks gay or when a woman looks butch and lesbian. Not all do, but lets face facts there are plenty who do! No offense meant Ann, sorry if I offended you.
That being said, I looked more into this woman's ideas. She said that no culture that has embrassed homosexuality has lasted long. Perhaps she should look at history...the Greeks and Romans laster MUCH longer than the United States has been around.

Well Matt, please try to be clearer when you throw nuggets like that out. I mean, I understand and enjoy irony, but your comment just didn't look very ironic in the context you placed it.
And thanks for coming back to me on this - although I still have a bit of a problem with the "stereotypical" train of thought. I thought part of what growing up was about was moving past stereotyping people.

I remember a young teen from Sacramento that was sent away from his family some years ago (good ole Capital Christian Center) to live with a terrible family that intended to beat the gayness out of him. It was an "exchange program" later he commited suicide.

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your speech, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... end of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

I'll post this from a site where people are discussing Ms Kern's statements. I found it humorous, but I should probably make a disclaimer before posting it. Please do not take it that I'm a heterophobe or have any problems or issues with heterosexual people. Hell, my own parents are heterosexual; so were my grandparents.

i have experience dealing with people like her (there are several groups here in Sacramento). The best "weapon" is not feeding the fuel (with emails and links to info about her son) nor is it productive to try to engage her in discussions about wrong or right (it's if they are almost "brainwashed" with responses to everything). yeah, you might feel disgusted and feel a little rage build up, but, you know that's what a lot of the people and groups who are "programmed" to think this way want. They want you to fear, they want you to hate. (when they are the ones that are most fearful)
Maybe the best way to respond to someone like this is to do something completely unexpected and opposite of what they want? Something to disarm them? I'm sure you all can be creative.

I find it hilarious that Salacious Sally is such a bigot. Her son Jesse was the biggest queen on the campus of OBU in the mid-90’s. Twice he almost was expelled for making inappropriate advances in the library toilets. When he wasn’t cruising the toilets he was in the glee club and a piano major…there’s your sign.

When I worked at Disney World, the right wing hate-monger southern baptist would always try and march in protest on Gay Day. Disney wouldn't let them on the property so they would march out in Kississmmee near the main entrance...I would just drive by and laugh. They really looked pitiful. Maybe that is the way to deal with these people.
Besides I also found it funny that Gay Day always sells out the park. Shuts down from people coming in it is so full. That only happens on Christmas Day, 4th of July and New Years Eve.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The son of a state lawmaker who has condemned homosexuality as a worse threat to the U.S. than "terrorists or Islam" said Friday he wants it known that he is "straight and not gay."
Jesse Kern, son of Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, said information purporting that he is gay, which has appeared on several blogs, is damaging to himself and his family.
Kern, 31, said he feels the media has a responsibility to seek out the truth, then report it.
Kern, who said he is affiliated with the Des Moines School of Metaphysics, said that he chooses to be celibate, but he is not homosexual.
"First of all, no one's sexuality is anyone's business. It is not even my mother's business," he said. "I practice celibacy to give to my God," he said.
Kern said metaphysics helps teach him such things such as concentration, which has helped him keep focused with all the adverse publicity surrounding his mother's comments.
Kern said his mother's comments apparently were taken out of context. He has not chosen to listen to the audio version that has been disseminated widely throughout the nation.
Kern's views differ from those of his mother, although he applauds her for standing up for what she believes, and thanks his parents for his good upbringing. His father is a Baptist minister in Oklahoma City.
He said the purpose of sex is reproduction, and it is the function of the animal body.
"But we are more than animals, and we can use sex for a tool of deep relationship with another person."
Kern added that what is more important than whether it be a relationship with someone of the same sex, is that there "needs to be honor in any relationship whether it is a straight or gay relationship."

Unlike his spiritually lost mother, Jesse Kern seems to be a grounded and intelligent person. Jesus Christ of course never mentioned ONE WORD about homosexuals or homosexuality, a fact some people seem to overlook.
Don’t get swallowed up in hateful speeches by well intentioned but lost souls. Their values are anti-Christ’s teaching.

Well Jesus didn't actually say all that much and what he did say was either:
1. Unoriginal
2. Ambiguous at best.
Which was really rank laziness on Jesus' part. It means his followers have spent the last 2000 years filling in the blanks and they're pretty clear on these things. Jesus' good friend Paul, for example, damns homos to hell in his letters to the Corinthians. I think it gets a run in Timothy as well.
Now "celibacy" (especially amongst christians of the Kerns' stripe) is code for "I'm a dirty queer, but I'm terrified Jesus is gonna sling me into hell" and that's cool. But whatever he is, he's neither intelligent nor well grounded.
And you only have to see his mother to know why. :)

I was talking to one of my neighbors about politics and she brought up gay marriage. Her views were that because so many women and women or men and men couples are raising children, it therefore gives children the "choice" to be gay? So I say being gay is not a choice, that is the way you were born. No, if kids see this at a young age it gives them the option for when they get older? WTF ? She then said she has had gay friends, why does one guy always act like a girl and the other one act like a guy? That just goes to show you it is supposed to a man and a women. I don't know? I don't think all of them do. Why do you do anything you do? Because that is who you are? I had to leave to pick up the kids but it just goes to show that this kind of thinking is everywhere.

I was talking to one of my neighbors about politics and she brought up gay marriage. Her views were that because so many women and women or men and men couples are raising children, it therefore gives children the "choice" to be gay

A coworker/friend asked me, after we returned from getting married, "So who's the wife and who's the husband?"
Since she knew I could have a razor sharp since of humor and gave me that smile, which was a total invite to make a wise ass comment I said, "Who ever has the cleanest ass is the wife".

You missed her rant that all blacks shuffle, sell drugs and are slow.
And she claims she has every "right" to speak cause of her freedom of speech.
A little twisted thinking if you ask me.
She's a bigot and probably never knew a gay person, other than what she heard from
watching the 700 club.
Is it any wonder people are so against and fearful of gay marriage issues?
Or states think they need to make laws "protecting" people like her?
Actually she does have the "right" to say what she wants. You may not agree with her, but she still has the right. Just as you have the right to say things that you want that she doesn't agree with, but you still have the right to say it. That is Freedom of Speech.
