Hello everyone , since starting stribild this summer I have had a good response in terms of cd4 but I've also been plagued with swelling of the ankles, one more than the other, alternating. My feet don't swell, only my ankles. My dr doesn't think it's my heart (though I am suspicious). Once I took two stribild (I threw up late at night after taking stribild in the evening so I just popped another one, later I found out that it generally absorbs in about 90 minutes or so. The next day my ankle swelling was worse. I found one similar post on thebody.com from last year about swollen anlles and stribild but I haven't heard of anyone else with the side effect.

I am hoping that it is a side effect because otherwise It is my heart and I really don't want to battle hiv and heart failure at the same time.

I also get palpitations the morning after having even one drink, which didnt happen before stribild.

I take Stribild
Way before I started Stribild, I was having swollen ankles.  Swollen ankles can be from a poor blood supply...and I think kidney problems aggravate the problem.
So I would be carreful about saying "side effect".
Maybe you just drink too much.

Why should i be careful about saying side effect? Every medicine has side effects, some are common , some are rare.

The reason I asked is because I didn't have much of a problem before the Stribild, I am currently spending a small fortune at the podiatrist (x rays, orthotics, etc) with very low yield and was wondering whether maybe it had nothing to do with my ankles. My kidneys and liver are doing fine according to my labs (thank god) my doctor said that it might be a side effect. That no one else seems to be having the same problem makes me think it's something else. I guess I'll keep having to shell out money to the foot doctor.

HI.. Just started Stribild about 3 weeks ago, and I am also experiencing swelling of the ankles.  My ankle have never swelled before, so I thought it was kind of odd and did a search and found your post.  It is very mild, but definitely there.  Good luck.
