hi everyone I know it has been awhile since I have been on but I have a question I thought I would get some insight on from all of you. If you all remember my story my husband is pos and I am negative. My hubby is now undetectable!!! YEAH!!! We have a doctors appointment on Monday to find out his exact numbers. But my question is. We want to have another child sometime this year and I was wondering if any of you know what the chances of him passing HIV to me or the baby are with him being undetectable are? I know that there is a chance but how likely is it? Also does anyone know of anything out there that will decrease the chances of passing it. I have heard of sperm washing but I was hoping that maybe someone in here could tell me more about it. Is it worth the money? Does it work? Please any advise would be greatly appreciated.
I wish everyone and healthy and happy 2008!!!

Anything is worth it, if it prevents you from contracting HIV.

Hi,
One of the great success stories in HIV/AIDS treatment has been the development of means for having babies safely. I'm wondering if you have talked with your doctor about it.
Here's a link to what Tim Horn has written about it:

Keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for the link. I did ask my hubbys doctor about it when we first found out that he was poz. She told us that it was possible but that she could not give us a "yes". That was almost a year ago now. I guess I am just looking for reassurance. I was also curious if anyone on the site had successfully had a child with out infecting the mother and/or child.

Worried,
Have you read the posts in "Postive Women" forum? There is a thread about having babies in it. I believe there was also a thread posted by a male with the same concerns that you and your husband have. It's in the "Living with HIV" forum. It's an older thread, but if you look through the older ones, you can find it. Sorry that I don't know how to post a link, or I would. Good luck to you, your beautiful daughter, your hubby, and everything that the future hold for your family!
