AMG cancelled due to lack of interest?

Seeing as there hasn't been a post here since July 7th is it safe to assume there will be no AMG in San Diego this year? I'm saddened if there's not going to be a gathering but that's the way it goes. I had vacation days set aside for this and have to cancel in two weeks in advance or I'm stuck using them.

Is anyone attending formally or informally?

Hi Denver...I won't be able to make that trip this year but I hope some of the folks can salvage a trip this year, it is almost August, maybe it will work out.

It only takes two or more people to show up to make an AMG, formal or informal.  Maybe it some of you guys can get out to California then David or some of the people out there can hook up and meet you.

If not this year, there is always the hope for next year.  Hugs to all.

I'm not making my super duty plans this year but am still planning on flying in for at least the weekend.  All I can think about is Rocky and how I'd so hate to miss out on memorializing him

I wouldn't chalk it up to "lack of interest".  I, for one, was very interested in going.  I wanted to go to San Diego when it was first proposed last year, but it just didn't work out that way.  And this year, well...I guess most people were like me:  interested, but had no clue how to go about organizing something like this for a whole bunch of people.

I really hate seeing it possibly not happen or be a really low turn out - lower than it should be for a location like that - but everything was just stalled for so long that it's now so close that I just don't see any way that I can go.

I have an old high school friend out there.  I was really hoping to get to see her, but ya can't win 'em all.

If nothing else, this just needs to light a fire under our collective butts to make SURE that next years is nailed down.

It's too bad an AMG could not be finalized this year.  If we really want to remember Rocky, a couple of members need to take the lead and get it done.  You had a hotel and a group rate, but nobody to herd the cats.  Things like this happen and nobody is at fault.

We simply need to have a couple of members come forward and take charge.

I know the Davids and Bonnie will be there!  It'll be a small group for sure, but that's not all bad.  It'll be easy to plan things for the group to do at least!

I hate that more people aren't planning to go, but it's still possible to get good deals on flights; I just bought tickets tonight.  So... come on; those who want to come, get your butts in gear, book your flights and reserve your room!
