Lately seeing more stories about HIV vaccines, and although I can't make sense of some of it, it does look promising  :)

Yeah, it's hard to makes sense of this stuff when we're not specialists, even if one is not headless.  It's good that all of this research is going on, and it does seem as if many of the research areas are converging, which is a good thing, but I guess if something really big happens, it will be blasted all over the place and impossible to miss.  Until then, I'm trying more to just to stay on meds, eat right, be grateful for the small pleasures, and live my life.  I'll still keep one eye on ongoing research, though, so thanks for sharing. ;)

And Bill & Melinda Gates has got our backs to the tune of $25 million  :)... Ptrk3, I'm so thankful for all the research and hoping for a breakthrough but I also do not kid myself, it maybe a long time and in the meantime life goes on  :)

Not a day goes by when I don't spend time on the internet looking for research and potential cure hopes (scientifically based ones, not the quack stuff from such and such a doctor/wizard/shaman/medicine man/spellcaster/witchdoctor whom people point to when they hijack comment sections of mainstream and scientifically centered stories).  I guess it's a keeping things in perspective thing.  It's something I need to work on, as some of the LTS forum people kindly have pointed out to me.
