Not UD yet...am I too impatient?

I started treatment just over 4.5 months ago with a VL of 90,000
It's been holding steady (and even rising by 30 once) in the high 100s for about 6 weeks now (I get very frequent measurements since I'm in a study).
Part of me thinks I shouldn't think twice about it until it's been longer than 6 months.
But boy do I want that UD result.

Hi bs4dd,

Did you have a resistance test prior to starting whichever treatment that you're on?  Does not sound right for your VL to have gone from 90k to the high hundreds (I'm presuming that you mean 170k or 180k, not 700k or 900k, right?).  By now you you should have experienced some sort of VL decrease, especially after more than four months of treatment.

What does your doctor (or the person in charge of this trial) say about your situation?

I mean high 100s as in 170-190. NOT 170-190 thousand.
That's why I was saying I might just be being impatient, since I'm getting close to UD.

Honestly at 170-190 VL you're well on your way, you'll most likely be UD on your next blood draw.  If you just stay where you at now you effectively have the virus suppressed.  I have the opposite problem of most people.  My VL dropped to nothing almost immediately but my CD4 almost refuses to move upward even though my CD4 % continues to rise.  It takes your immune system a lot of time to recover from the virus even while medicating for it.  Be patient and try not to worry about a VL as long as it is not increasing or running rampant.

My misunderstanding, I apologize.  If it is just 170-190 then you are doing ok. Yes, one can feel slightly impatient when that darned report has a value (regardless of how small --the last reading I had before going UD was 54, which to me was as good as being undetectable) instead of the much desirable UD.  The key thing is that you are heading in the right direction.
