Anorectal Manometry and Endorectal Ultrasound
« on: July 23, 2013, 04:12:02 pm »
For 17 years of living with AIDS my life has been lit by what I call "The Three Minute Warning".  Many of us get it, a sudden uncontrollable urge to take a major dump in a public place when there are no bathrooms in sight.  Medications for "Dire Rear" are not effective because it isn't "Dire Rear", it is the "Three Minute Warning".

Having had some anal warts removed by laser, I have had a few follow up exams with discussion on "The Three Minute Warning", my Oncologist has referred me to the Anorectal Manometry and Endorectal Ultrasound and I think from our conversations, it is to discover why the sphincter doesn't stay closed tight.  I spent years never going further than I could walk home and I suppose if I took Imodium all day every day, it might work better but this exam at the Center for Pelvic Physiology is the most promising thing I have ever heard and I wonder why I was not referred before.  Anyways, I get a fleet enema, 1-2 hours before leaving the house.  Has anyone else had this procedure?  Talk to me, tell me everything... Am I going to come out a tight ass?

The last time I took a dump in public...  We were standing in line for the opening of a new exhibit, the place was packed as the fine arts museums spent millions promoting this exhibit.  I was in line with San Francisco's art lovers and I started shitting, there was no control.  My date truly loves me, instead of giving me 20 dollars cab fare, he helped me clean up and when we got home, he washed my clothes while I took a shower.  He said, "shit happens".   8)  Have the best day

I'm not going to be any help as far as this procedure goes but DO want to wish you the best. Your personality doesn't lend itself to being a "tight a$$" but I hope you get one never the less. :)
Never heard of it being called the "three minute warning" but I've been there. Not fun.

The Three Minute Warning is my term.  Early in my infection, I went to a Pride Parade day party at my friends house, he had just bought the house.  He worked in the hotels as Concierge and used hotel decorations for a breakfast buffet.  There was an ice sculpture from the Superbowl.  His new house was on the parade route so as we were finishing breakfast and waiting for Dykes On Bikes.  I lit a cigarette and just shit.  There was a 3 block walk through the service alley from his house to mine.  I slipped across the street at Villa Riveria where Rock Hudson lived when he first moved to California to be a star and past Weathering Heights which was the  Gable Lombard Estate when she died and converted into an apartment building.  I made it home to shit on the way to another Pride Day Parade party at another house on another year.

I have altered and manipulated my life to live around this and except for 4 years in Small Town USA, I have been a patient at some impressive clinics, all with the funding and the best Doctors.  That is why I am wondering if anyone has had this procedure.  BTW  "Dire Rear", I believe that is Ann's term  8)  Have the best day

Excellent memory, Michael! I coined it years ago, before I mastered the art of spelling diarrhea. But dire rear is what it truly is!

I also spent years not going far from my house and plotting out the location of public toilets. Dire indeedy!

I hope they locate the source of your sphincter troubles and can fix it. I wonder if it wouldn't be a similar procedure to replacing a no-longer-elastic waistband elastic?

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Yeah Ann, it could be something as simple as tightening up the ole elastic band...   I have had the finest ID Docs in L.A. and San Francisco Bay Area, all dedicated and studying and they could treat Dire Rear but couldn't treat for Three Minute Warning.  I have to admit, I was impressed with myself for spelling sphincter without spell check.   8)  Have the best day

Now that I think of it, a former employee had this done about 15 years ago. She wasn't shy about telling us all about her "tightening". We didn't get the details. Not sure if she is still around as she was in her mid 70's when she worked for us.
(her name was Tad.) Haven't seen her for awhile but her mother lived to be 106 so who knows?

I like both terms you two came up with. Very fitting for shiXXing. :)

Yep, the spellings of words like diarrhea and sphincter are very enigmatic, like the sphinx.

Do keep us posted on your pooper. We have an affinity for poop-centric threads around here. (we're an odd bunch, what of it?)
