Title: Need yours Kind help please.
Post by: wangwang8 on November 15, 2007, 11:28:38 am
Hi

I have a question about folliculitis & HIV. I have protected oral & vagina sexual intercourse with a sex worker (Unknown HIV status) and right after that when i was cleaning up I notice I got a fresh pimple burst what know to be folliculitis at the pubic region not at the base but slighly higher. If there is a vagina fluids in contact would this causes HIV infection? What will be the chances to get infected with in such scenario? I tested using rapid test for hiv at 56 days after exposure and is Negative.

Guys ur input is much appreciated

That's not a risk for HIV transmission.  Please read the Lessons section of this site for transmission information.

Regarding this incident and concern you didn't need to test. There was no risk whatsoever for transmission in the manner you've been worrying about. Nicks, cuts, bruises and such are not a risk except in theory.

The female body fluids which present a risk for HIV transmission are in the cervical area, much further up in the vaginal cavity. A pimple bursting in the pubic area would not be coming into contact with those fluids whereas the unprotected penis would during intercourse.

You have nothing to be concerned about and testing is not necessary.

Cheers,

Thanks guys, it such a comfort to hear is not a risk. Yes theoretical is a risk but I read that non-intact/broken skin can cause transmittion if is in contact with a infected fluids?

Sorry for the questions, i jusr curious and I trying to the best to keep cool as I dont want to freak out for nothing or unreasonable. So to put myself at the best comfort i need to clear my curiousity.

Hi there, 1st let me apologise for asking the same question that is similar to my incident. I have read a lot of them and reply from you all. I do really appreciate the endurance you alll have from the worried well.

I have stopped commercial sex about a year ago and have not been doing any risky act with any paid/commercial sex after I have pass my 3 months window period from my past exposure. However there this incident that making me so worried that I assume is was a bad experience I been through in the past. Recently on July 15 I have a sexual exposure with a massage parlour and we have a Protected sex right from the beginning to the end. There was no breakage as far as I am concern but for leakage is something I think is difficult to access if the leakage or a tiny hole is small enough. I got an UNPROTECTED blowjob and this is what making me worries. I read many replies that this is a low risk but how low is low? No cut on the penis as I know and I am not sure if she have any ulcer, bleeding gum or whatever given her unknown HIV status.  I know shopping for symptoms is not a wise thing to do and is not reliable but I do have all the symptoms that indicate in many HIV website.

I was told by someone that a good body system might suppress the virus and may cause it to be undetectable within the window period. Since I am a train Muay Thai fighter, I do lot of workout and heavy cardio work, does this mean that it might take a longer window period for me. During my workout till today I have no abnormal feeling just that 1 ½ weeks after this exposure on July 24 I felt that my body temperature is up so I went to see a doctor but was only told that I do not have a fever however I was given and took some fever and anti-biotic medication to prevent it from getting worse but it went off the next day but came the sore throat. I am now in the 4th weeks from this exposure and I notice that I got a swollen gland with is about the size of an iphone button on my neck and near my elbow.

Is there anything I should worry about & needed a test or is just my own phobia or too many negative thought in my mind that causes all this? Once again I am sorry for a similar question but I really do appreciate your answer.

Getting a blowjob, with or without a condom, is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever been infected through a blowjob and you are not going to be the first. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

Being healthy ("good body system") will not make one bit of difference to an hiv antibody test.

You do not need to test anyway. You haven't had a risk.

Thanks Sis Ann,

As i was reading around the forum to understand more of these desease and i wandered into the I just tested poz session and I got scared back a little. There a certain post that they claim they only have oral sex and protected sex but tested poz l& some tested at week6 -ve and later at week 10 +ve. It does sound confusing unelss taking into account that some post have not being telling the truth but i doubt that because since they tested +ve there no reason for them to lied in their exposure.

I appreciated if you can elaborate further for my understanding.

As you were told before at NO TIME were you at risk of contracting HIV from a blowjob. As for forum jumping and reading that is not a wise thing to do until you yourself are educated in HOW HIV is and is not transmitted.

No no please dont get me wrong, I am not arguing or unsatisfied with the answer given to my risk of getting a blowjob. I just really curious on the exposure of those who turn poz and the test between 6 weeks and 10 weeks. I just thought that to understand better i should read more instead of keep asking around.

Although from time to time there are reports about someone insisting they became infected through oral, those claims never seem to hold up under careful scrutiny.

There is much more firm evidence to the contrary, that oral is not more than a theoretical risks. For example, longterm studies of gay and straight HIV discordant couples who had lots of unprotected muitual oral and only protected vaginal and anal intercourse have resulted in not one zero negative partner having become infected.

Of course, common sense dictates that giving oral is not something to do if you have a freshly gaping wound in your mouth. As for receiving oral, there's never been a confirmed case of transmission to a guy in this very common sexual act. You won't make history by becoming the first.
