My Midnight Movie Atripla Feature: Escape In New York
« on: March 29, 2008, 08:12:56 am »
Talk about a funkified dream...wow.  And I don't even take Atripla yet.

So I'm riding in a cab around New York City with a gaggle of queens and divas from AIDS Meds.  As I'm somehow the only one who has been there before, I'm pointing out all the sights from the cab.  We're circling around the island as I continue to direct their attention outside the window...."Look!  Just across the river:  Cleveland, Chicago, Louisville, Detroit, Minneapolis / St. Paul..."  Don't ask me how this little feat of geography occured.  It just was.

We stop the cab since everyone spies Sarah Jessica Parker trying on footwear in a store window.  Half the people want her autograph, the other half want to scoop her on the shoes.  I detest shopping and press onwards.  The cab ride is slow going, as they have decided to repave all the former Ground Zero area with gravel in an effort to save money.  I can no longer tolerate to sky rocketing fare or fuel costs (that apparently I also have to pay) for the taxi, nor can I further endure the repetitive music my Indian cab man is blaring from the monotone speakers.  I decide to hoof it the rest of the way to the hotel.

I stumble upon some news event taking place with a crowd of onlookers all around.  I try to duck out of sight, afraid of being confronted by either my ex or Bill O'Reilly.  I decide to check it out from afar, and notice an enormous crowd of homeless looking people - all smoking cigarettes.  I don't want a whole pack, but decide I would like just one while I watch...so I offer a quarter for a cigarette.  Bad call.  No want wishes to part with a cigarette, but they all want the quarter (and especially any paper money if I have it).  I duck into an apartment building and begin climbing the green carpeted spiral staircase toward the top...the panhandlers following me all the way.  Along the way, I find a guy with a platinum blond afro who promises me HE will give me his cigarette if we both escape the mob and I give him the quarter.  Each apartment on each floor is increasingly tacky, yet with increasingly magnificent views out each living room window.  I see the Statue of Liberty missing its head, unclear if this happened from terrorism or the Cloverfield monster.  Me and Blond Afro Man duck beneath a blue air mattress in an effort to pretend "nobody here but us furniture" and avoid detection from the quarter clutchers.

I light the cigarette.

Menthol.

Jungian dream analysis would probably suggest penis envy.

Sounds like a potential Jarmusch musical to me. Go, Tim!

I'm thinking it must have been the dark chocolate right before bed.  That's all I can come up with.

I remember telling my shrink that I kept dreaming that I was a wigwam and a teepee. He said it meant that I was probably two tents.

So you were trying to escape from your "ex or Bill O'Reilly"? That needs further analysis!

I think it was my ex, Bill O' Reilly and those that wanted to get my quarter without giving me a ciggy.  Beats me.  I guess what it all boils down to is that I spend WAY too much time on here.

Hey Timmy,

Recently I went on an over night sail to Ensenada and had problems with the bilge pump.  Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie drove up in a Range Rover to help tip the boat sideways and pour the water out of the hull.  All of a sudden Brad Pitt came up and asked to use El Trucko to get to the next towno.  I wouldn't let them take my Sustiva away  ;D

IF, I may make a comparison... In my dreams, I have the most sexy man from a few years ago and the current sexiest woman  There was a tie between Angelina Jolie and Charlise Theron while Sarah Jessica Parker is this years most unsexy woman  ;D  This could indicate a difference between Atripla and Sustiva.  In internet news, Sarah Jessica Parker was a little miffed about the title.  Perhaps she has never been on Atripla so sat through an entire season of Sex in the City reruns.  ;D Have the best day
Michael

ah Timmy,

If chocolate did that, you're gonna have a whale of a time on Atripla.

ps - my old man used to smoke 80 menthol ciggies a day. Ardath, Ardath, you're a star, beat the other smokes by far. better flavour, better price. think I better say it twice. Ardath, Ardath...
