Jedi,

We know what he means. We've been doing this for a while. You've been asked previously to stay in your own thread. Please mind your own business and worry about yourself.

And that includes not replying to my post either.

Joe,

The oraquick test is a good one and it doesn't return false negative results when they are done three months or more after the incident you're worried about.

You tested negative well beyond the three month window period. This means you ARE hiv negative. Conclusively so.

You need to learn from this experience. You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you do NOT need further testing over this specific incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

You ARE hiv negative. Use condoms correctly and consistently and you'll stay that way. It really is that simple!

so that means theres no way the test culdve have failed without the counselor knowing..I remeber her showing having the test in front of me , but i kept asking questions and and she put it somewhere else...I remember a line going all the way up and not stopping anywhere, then she showed me one line, but maybe i was to excited to hear negative to see the next line...i really want to put this behind me and I am hoping you could help me...

I want to say thank you to all, I thought about you all today, although i have never met any of you and it must be difficult as well as rewarding to do what you all do...I wish you the best and thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Joe,

Testing centers aren't in the business of missing positive results. They're trained and do the job properly. You can rely on your negative result.

You ARE hiv negative. Remember to always use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will stay that way. It really is that simple.

The Vironostika HIV-1 Plus O Microelisa System is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1), including Group O, in human specimens collected as serum, plasma, or dried blood spots.

I dont think it was that one, I requested an antibody test from Labcorp and I noticed they wrote

HIV 1/0/2 Abs, Qual    Result: Negative            Interpretation: Non-Reactive by ICMA

I wanted to know if it can be trusted since it doesn't say ELISA on it...I cant find any infor on it

Joe,

It's an ELISA test. The result is conclusively negative. You don't have HIV. That's my expert opinion and the opinion of the other experts here.

Move on babe.

conclusive?>?
« Reply #11 on: October 12, 2007, 07:21:13 pm »
7 months after an unprotected vaginal incident i took an oral rapid hiv test and that came out negative...after several months i started thinking perhaps they made a mistake so i took a labcorp HIV 1/0/2 ICMA (antibody test) and that came out negative...when i had visited a STD clinic last week not the one that I took the test at I asked the doctor is the test was good and he looked it up and said it was good. However he asked if i wanted to take another one and i said no and was puzzled because shouldnt the one i took be conclusive. A week later I am having doubts whether the ICMA labcorp test i took was conclusive and why did the doctor offer another one especially a rapid test.

Please let me know if my test is conclusive and with what accuracy, especially this HIV Icma test, I want to get over this HIV hell that ive been living for 1 year..

I am not going to guess why the doctor asked you whether you wanted to take another test. You were reliably negative from the first one you took so it's no surprise the second test even later confirmed the earlier result.

Give it up. You're HIV negative. Period. End of story.

I don't know what your original risk was so just learn from this experience and remember in the future that anytime you have vaginal or anal intercourse the insertive partner should always be wearing a latex condom.

Cheers,

I don't know either why you're still worried. Because you're HIV negative unless you've done anything risky since you were tested.

Just because someone claims to have been infected through oral doesn't make it true. Sometimes people lie even to themselves what they've been up to, sometimes people forget through drug and/or alcohol use during or before sex.

Getting a blowjob is not, never has been and never will be a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has EVER been infected this way and you will not be the first.

If it makes you feel better, go test and collect your negative result. The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test postiive by six weeks, so you can test now to see that negative result. You don't actually NEED to test over this blowjob.

You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection when you got blown. No way, no how. Saliva is not infectious, after all.
