Welcome to the forums! I am sorry you are experiencing shingles. Have you seen a doctor about them? Have you gotten medication to help treat them? What is your CD4 count?

Hi Jingua,

You sound really scared. I hope you'll find some support here.

Shingles can happen with a reasonably high cd 4 count. And yes it is possible that you get it again, so you better go to a doctor, the sooner it gets treated the better!

Medicationschedules are often easier nowadays, but I think your first priority has to be to get medication for shingles ASAP
Some people get shingles pretty often and have medication in their homes for emergencies. That enables you to start treatment quicker so that it doesn't get that serious.

Hope this helps!

I have had them twice.  It doesn't mean you have to go on HIV meds.  But as the others said, GO TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.  You must start the antiviral for the shingles IMMEDIATELY.  Do not wait, do not hope they will go away...if it is a false alarm, no harm done.

I hope you don't have them.  You already know what a trial they are.  I wish you the best.
