I scream, you scream, we all scream....
« on: August 14, 2009, 01:01:17 am »

for ice cream.

Sorry, folks. You were all so busy scopping ice cream out of your bowls, and I had to catch a cab at 2p for the friggin' airport, I just sort of slipped away.   Jan, Mike and Mark hurried around the corner as I was putting my bag in the trunk of the cab.  So quick hugs all around.  As we pulled away, I looked out in the rear window and saw Jody.  We waved good bye.  Just like in the movies.

What I would give to have shared that last scoop of ice cream with all of you.

I loved the ball game and even if I couldn't see the pitcher or the batter or the first base line I still had the best seat in the house (snuggled in between Mark and Jody)  Nick, thanks for steering us to Dirgins for lunch just in time for Rab's (aka "Sparky") floor show. (Pictures on request.) Salem witchcraft spooked me.  The Meet and Greet was, as usual, a wonderful way to open up our hearts.

But it was our little mini who opened up our warm and teneder hearts.

who will sing my lullaby?
who will hold me when I cry?
when I awake and no one's there,
who will sing my lullaby?

until we meet again.....

I feel honor bound to admit that it was "really good" ice cream.  The only thing that would have made it better is if RAB (aka "Sparky") had served it in that "get up" she wore at Durgins!

Robert, you are so greatly missed.  Hubby so enjoyed the time you two spent together both at the M&G and on the train back from Salem.  He said you were an astute listener.  I just said you were a sweetie.

Thank you for remembering our Wee One.  It took her lots of practice to be able to sing that song without crying.  I on the other hand didn't make it acrossed the threshold before the tear were flowing.

I was looking forward to having you on our hunting team. Ol' meanie Dennis wouldn't let me pick you, though.  I really wanted to spend more time talking with you.  I enjoy your gentle company.

Until next year, hun, take care.  You are in our thoughts daily.

Robert,

I am so glad that I made Jan move along faster than she likes (you know how she tends to whine when she has to walk more than 1 block...   ;) ), it just wouldn't have been right for you to slip away without a proper farewell.  We were all lined up to wave again after your cab turned around, but instead, he simply slipped away down that alley.
It was great getting to know you -- you are just so much fun.
Until next year.......

Hugs,
Mike

Hi Robert

Glad you made it home safely.  I didn't have any ice cream so I really don't have an excuse for not being there to see you off.  Sorry buddy.

Boston was a great time, and having the chance to spend time with our "absent minded professor"   :-*, made it all that much better.

See you next year.   :)

RAB
