It wouldn't matter how much of her vaginal fluids managed to get on to you. HIV is a fragile virus which is not transmitted in that manner.

The only confirmed means of transmitting HIV sexually are through unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Those provide the kind of receptive setting HIV requires for transmission.

You are worrying needlessly. There is no need for further concern or for HIV testing.

Cheers.

Unfortunately (very), many doctors are not as up on HIV as they ought to be. There is absolutely no need for you to get tested over this incident.

And yes, you can have sex with your wife without any concern about passing HIV to her. You can't pass what you don't have.

Cheers.

thanks andy and rapid rod..
one last question..
my sexual encounters so far (outside my marriage)

1. had protected sex with a girl (then tested after 14 weeks and was negative)
2. visited few massage parlour(just massage and handjob.. no sex .. no oral or fingering)

once during a massage the lady was giving a body rub.. she was rubbing her nude body(she was wearing a panty)  on me.. for 1 second she rubbed her vaginal area(with her panty on) over my penis..

do i have to be concerned about any of the above mentioned scenarios?

Thanks..

Harry,

Sexually speaking, the ONLY true risk for hiv infection is UNPROTECTED anal or vaginal intercourse. You can forget about this other stuff you bring to us. You haven't been at risk.

How much more clearly can we say NO RISK to you? If you decide to test it's strictly for your peace of mind. A negative result is a foregone conclusion based on what you have reported to us.

You need to get on with your life is what you need to do.

Really.

Listening to things like "what you hear" is not a good idea. We've given you the real deal here on your situation based in HIV-science. The idea of risk through simply touching someone else's genitals is nonsense.

Just get on with your life. Really.

hi guys.. today i went to a GP.. he examined my neck and throat.. he said that my throat is bit reddish and asked if i feel any soreness in throat.. but i didnt feel any sort of pain or discomfort.. also he measured my temperature.. it was 37.1 at that time.. he said i have mild fever.. and also said that my glands in neck are very mildly swollen..
does this sounds like typical ars?
but when came back to my house and measured my temperature it showed 36.8 ..
before going to see the gp, i had a cup of coffee. could that have caused the temperature to raise slightly?
and will the swolleng glands due to ars be visible to eye? coz.. i cant see any swelling in my neck glands area.. but the doctor pressed and did something.. then he told that it was very mildly swollen..

i also talked to him about my risk.. he said that it was very low.. and he
didnt want me to test.. because he said that the risk was very low.. but he is not telling there was "NO" risk...

guys.. i need just one more opinion from you before i have sex with my wife tonight.. she has been pestering me for the past three days.. :(

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

You are worrying needlessly. If you had a freshly gaping cut and HIV+ blood or semen was pouring into it, that could be a theoretical risk. In the real world of HIV I've never known of a confirmed case of HIV transmission through a cut, bruise, nick or similar occurence.

Straying often kicks up a lot of anxiety. I suspect that is playing a significant part in your worrying these days. There's no need for testing. You should just get on with your life.

I'm also going to caution you that if you continue to return here about the same no risk incident everytime you have another burst of anxiety, you're going to end up getting a 28 day TIME OUT.

Scary,

Keeping in mind that you DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS MASSAGE INCIDENT, it all depends on what type of test is used. It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to two weeks. If the test is done through a blood draw where a few CCs of blood are deposited into a tube, they may or may not run a WB without telling you. Policies will differ from testing center to testing center, so you'll have to ask where you get your UNNECESSARY test done.

You're getting awfully close to that time out Rodney warned you about.

This is your last warning!

scary,

If you're worried about your lymph node, see a doctor. Whatever is going on has NOTHING to do with hiv. You didn't have a risk for hiv as you've been repeatedly told.

I'm giving you that time out you've been warned about. Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.

scary,

A Western Blot test is only done when there has been a positive antibody test result. WB tests usually take at least a day for results. There is no rapid WB test.

You do NOT need to test with a WB unless you've had a positive antibody result. A WB is used to rule out false positive antibody results. If you want to know more about the various tests, read the Welcome Thread like you're supposed to and click on the Testing Lesson link.

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection. You're still under a Time Out warning.

The western blot is only done when there has been an initial positive result to either confirm the positive or to correct it. If there is a positive Elisa and a negative western blot, it's the western blot result which prevails.

All of this is irrelevant as far as you are concerned because you haven't had any risk for HIV in anything you have reported.

Keep in mind that you're not going to be allowed to start a new round of questions, what ifs and all of that over your non-risk situation. You need to get on with your life. Otherwise you're going to be getting another Time Out or be banned from the site.

I've merged your threads here. In the future don't start any new threads. All entries should be made in this one thread.

From what you have described of this latest incident I would not consider it to have been a risk. However, you need to decide if there was really any penetration or not. Even if there was it would have been a very low risk. If you decide to get tested just to be sure, then I would certianly expect you to test negative.

But what were you doing trying to have intercourse without a condom!!!!  We've told you repeatedly that unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse are the only confirmed means of sexually transmitting HIV. What good does it do for you to come here to learn if you don't apply what you learn in your sexual life? Condoms. Everytime. No exceptions and no stories please.

This time I don't see your incident as a genuine risk, but as I said you will have decide if penetration took place or not.

thanks andy for the reply..
actually i didnt feel warm or anything like i entered her..
but.. i tried to push hard and even rubbed on her vagina for a while.
she said that i couldnt penetrate her..
so she asked me to leave.. but she said that the head was rubbing over her opening..
she said that my penis was soft and bending.. and the head was just pushing against the opening..

is that alright?

I agree with Andy, I don't see a genuine risk here, but if you are concerned you should arrange an HIV antibody test 13 weeks from the date of this incident.

You should expect that result to be negative.

As Andy notes you were trying to have unprotected sex and it's that pattern of behaviour which should be concerning you. If you want stay HIV negative you should start taking safe sex practices more seriously.

thanks matt..i will never ever do anything silly like this..
i will make sure that i use condoms..

and matt.. i just called that lady up(she is not a CSW). and i explained to her of my concerns. she was understanding and told me that she is very sure that i did not enter inside her. because my penis was not erect and it kept bending when i tried to push it in. and also i tried to push in like that only twice.

so, at the max the head should have been over the opening for a second or so.

does that sound risky?

please help.

I'm sure she wasn't a commercial sex worker. Commercial sex workers almost always insist on condoms.

Andy and I have already explained to you that we don't think you were in any real danger of being infected with HIV. We don't think HIV testing is warranted from a strictly clinical viewpoint.

That said if it would give you peace of mind, go ahead and test 13 weeks from the date of this encounter.

Harry, are you in the collecting reassurances business? You didn't have a risk.

What you are at risk for is collecting another Time Out for coming back here repeatedly when you have been told you weren't at risk. You are a sexually active adult. You need to apply the information that has been given to you as you continue on your way and not just come back here nervously every time you have sex. It's really quite simple. Use condoms consistently for vaginal and anal intercourse and you will be well protected as far as the sexual transmission of HIV is concerned.

Period.
