How good is CMIA Test For Hiv Check?
« on: February 23, 2013, 07:35:27 pm »
Dear sir,
                I had sex with a Thai girl. She refused to kiss me during the sex. I licked her nipples. I did not licked her vagina or anus. During the foreplay I was having some vaginal fluid in my fingers. Then i opened the condom packet. I realized that some of the vaginal fluid was on my finger tips so I washed my hands quickly and I used the same condom. Now I worried about my hiv status. I had cmia test in Bangkok (antibody test (60minutes))after 2 weeks, 3 weeks and 5 days, 5 week and 5 days which were negative. But my tongue is white in the morning for almost 4 weeks.I had dry mouth also 4 weeks ago. I do not sleep well in the night and wake up early to go to toilet for nature call. I can eat food 3 times a day but feel like lost of appetite not same like before. I also feel weak.I have tingling in my penis too for 3 days. I am worried that why did the girl refused to kiss me ? Was she hiv positive? She told me that she does not let even her boyfriend to kiss her. My doctor gave me Vitamin B complex ( Red colour tablet). He told me that your immune system is weak. He gave me for whole month. He also gave me the medicine for sleeping tight. I took for few days and then I stopped taking sleeping pills . Can I have all these symptoms due to STD or exposure to HIV?

You never had an exposure in any of the situations that you've provided.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child

I am very sorry you are feeling weak.  However, it cannot possibly be due to HIV. HIV is a very fragile virus, and your ONLY sexual risk as a heterosexual, non IV Drug-using male is unprotected penetrative vaginal or anal sex.

You protected yourself in your encounter by wearing a condom, which is absolutely the right thing to do. Please continue doing that and you will avoid HIV infection.

I had the 3 Hiv test so far all negative in Bangkok after 15, 26 and and 40 days. The counselor told me that they have the 4 generation test rapid test Which can check for the HIV virus directly and antibodies too. They told me not to worry and the result is 98% sure.  They have the test approved or linked from NAT. Now I am confused How aunthetic is the CMIA Test Technique? My risk was(I had sex with a Thai girl. She refused to kiss me during the sex. I licked her nipples. I did not licked her vagina or anus. You are conclusively hiv negative. You do not have hiv. No big surprise there; you never had a risk for hiv infection in the first place.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
