Eh, I am not happy with the title but it'll have to do on a dime. Sorry, I have been away for a few days but I had to finish braiding my hair. I know you all prolly thought it was the men but no. I skimmed over the posts because there was so many, I couldn't keep up....

Mum---I hope Mini is feeling better, you too. A helicopter ride, OMG, I think I would've freaked out though I am cool riding a plane.

Netta---COngrats for real. That sounds so romantic and I am happy for you.

I had an eye appointment today but at a new place. Funny thing is, that it seems like my vision has gotten better in a years time instead of worse. Hey, I am not complaining. I am getting some colored contacts this time instead of clear. It was a cool office, it even had a Pac-Man machine in it. Me and my friend Jeff was playing til they called me in. I had the pleasure of getting my eyes dilated. But the treat of the visit was that I met a former Mayor, the first female mayor actually. And she actually held a conversation with me. I mean I knew who she was when I saw her but it just surprised how she struck up a conversation with me. Political, of course, not my strongsuit but we agreed on Obama and the rest was polite nods of agreement. :D It was cool though...

Oh, but there is some irony about the car. The day it was suppose to get fixed, the guy who was on his way to my house to fix it got into a car accident. Concussion and a broke foot, though I did go get the money and order the part from Auto Zone.

Have a good night .....

Well I wanted to comment on a lot but since I didn't do it in time before the new thread started, I have to do it from memory, so I will do my best.

Betty- How exciting to be so close to graduation! I remember when I got my Bachelors I didn't get all that stuff. I do remember it being HOT!! Nicolas Cage spoke at my graduation and all I remember is he had such a potty mouth! LOL! How is the working out?

Cristy- That is interesting about the retention policy. Here in California a child cannot be held back in Kindergarten unless the parent wants it. Kindergarten is not a state mandated grade even though I've never hear of anyone not going to Kinder. Usually it is recommended based on ability, maturity, and size. All the other grade levels a student can be retained due to attendance. What state are you in?

Mum- I am sorry that you are dealing with all that. Does Mini feel any better or is she still having the vertigo?

I can't remember the others....sorry...nothing personal  :)

Today I got a new student and now have 31. I was told by the principal that the boy has some serious behavior issues, great. He isn't even supposed to go to our school. Oh well...he tried to act up and he certainly got the other kids going. It's interesting how someone new can rile them all up. Nothing else happening. The rain stopped and the sun is out again...YAY!!!

Have a good day everyone!

Morning ladies,

Camms, I'm sorry about your friend's mom.   When I was in the coma and flatlined, it took my parents a few minutes to decide to have the doctor use the paddles-my wish was to not be revived.  Of course, there's a big difference in my and your friend's mom's age.  I hope she goes peacefully.

Christy, I'm glad Robert is doing better.  It sounds like you working with him is really paying off.

Netta, the reason you getting married surprised me was not because of your being HIV+.  It was because I didn't know you two were that serious.  The only thing that matters is that you're happy.

Snow, when I went to school, the rings were not a couple hundred, they were cheaper.  The reason I got one was because my first ex wanted to wear it around his neck (isn't that strange, he was 22 at the time).

Mum, I think some people become career students so they don't have to repay their student loans.  And they can keep getting more.  But, maybe some people like learning different things so much they want to keep doing it.  I really don't want to participate in the graduation, but my best friend and siblings tell me I have to.  If it were just up to me, I would have them send me my diploma.  The main campus is an hour and 40 minutes away, and there's two other off-campuses besides mine participating.  I think they said in all, it's going to be about 350 students.  I'm not looking forward to it.
Did you get your ice cream?

Queen, I'm glad your eyes have improved.  I love pac-man.  Where I go do laundry they have a pac-man game there and if I have any extra quarters I play it sometimes.  That's cool that you met that female mayor.  And I'm sorry about the mechanic's car accident.  At least you have the parts, so when he's ready, you're ready.  Do you know how long it will take to fix?

Andrea, Nicholas Cage?!  Wow.  I chuckled when I read the part about your new student getting the others worked up.  One is all it takes.

Well, I did the weight machines yesterday and I'm pretty sore today.  I do not have an ongoing trainer, in case anyone was thinking that.  That costs money.  But, when someone firsts becomes a member at the Y, they can have a trainer show them which weight machines to use, and how to use them.  Then it ends with the trainer, unless the new member wants to pay more money.  Anyway, the trainer had me set up with too much weight.  There's this one weight machine where I lift the weight over my head, and he had me doing 30 lbs, at 12 reps x 3 times.  That's a bit much for me.  So, I adjusted the weight and went from there.  The only weight machines I can't do are the ones involving the legs because of my knees.  If I tried to do one of those, my legs would probably snap in half. :)

Last night in class, we were talking about poverty, especially in famlies.  There's a lady in my class whose husband is a lawyer, and she's a secretary in a law office (I'm sure her husband got her that job).  I really don't think she knows anything about struggling, or having to rebudget 100 times because something comes up etc.  So, I went on a rant about Bush, and how I don't believe the line "anyone can do anything if they just work hard enough," because of how bad poverty can be in a lot of families and a lot of times the kids get neglected etc.  I think I got a little harsh, because she kept looking at me with a horrified look, like I was going to go over to her and personally chastize her or something.  I do like the woman, she's pleasant enough.  I guess I need to watch when I get on a roll the tone of my voice.

Anyway, tonight's the god-awful biology class.  I'm going 1/2 hour early because the professor is supposed to be going over some things he'll want on the final.  One of my friends told me last night he's going to be teaching the upcoming "Anatomy & Physiology" class.  Horrors.  You ladies have a good day.

Good Morning Ladies.                                                                                  Queen, I like the title. Glad your eyes have improved. I go every 2 years and they always dialate my eyes. I understand why they do it but I hate it. What color are your new contacts? That is ironic about the car. Hopefully your mechanic will heal quickly and be able to fix your car. I'm glad he wasn't hurt worse.                                              Andrea, we are in North Carolina. I think that kindergarten is not mandatory in this state but I know if he misses 20 days, that he can be failed. I have the appointment Monday and I feel like they will work with us because I have really been working with him and he can do what is required.   Wow, you have 31 students. Please tell me you at least have an aide to help you with all those children. You must have the patience of a saint cause I find 1  child difficult sometimes let alone 31.                                                                     Betty, you rant on, honey. Maybe that lady is just the nervous or sensitive type. Glad the exercising is going well for you. Good luck in Biology class. You will do well, I know it.                                           Minismum, I will check out the thread in living with but I must say, I am so sorry that Mini is having more problems. I looked up CNS lesions and that is very alarming. I will keep her in my prayers and you and your family as well.                                                                Snow, Robert is 5 , he will be 6 in April. It amazes me as well, all the stuff he is required to know by the end of the year. He is doing well and I work with him so he WILL pass at the end of the year. ;D if I say it enough, it will happen. Nothing wrong with your sweet babies being lefties. 200 years ago, they would have been forced to write with their right hands. Glad we have advanced beyond that. Take care and try to stay warm.                                            Camms, I am so sorry about your friends mother. It is so good of you to go with her and take her to the funeral. Hope the therapy session goes well.                                                                                      Lucas' Mom, I hope that the surgery will correct his vision. I will add him and your husbands mother to my prayers.                                            Anyone I missed. I hope you have a great day. Nothing planned here except housework, housework and more housework. Tomorrow I go to Greensboro to get my blood drawn for my ID appointment in March.        TTYL.    Cristy

Good Morning-

Christy-  Glad that Robert is doing well.  How far is your ID doctor from your town?  I should ask, how long does it take you to get there?

Mum-  I'm still thinking of you and your family.  Mini sounds like a tough cookie ....I'm still praying for her.

Netta-  I was surprised because we only know what you post. I'm really happy for you.  How did you guys meet?

Queen-  Nice new thread.  I wish you had a video of you talking to the mayor...cutting back to you nodding each time she spoke political spiel.  And wow, talk about irony, hope the mechanic was ok despite the mentioned injuries.

Bt-  It's good that you have a trainer to show you the ropes and not going in clueless.  I didn't go to my graduation and felt very strong about it.  I felt the film festival and awards show was more important.
I'm sure you've been asked this many times but did you remember feeling anything while you were in the coma, or having impressions from sounds or touch.

Viv-  Sorry to hear you got a bad apple.  Hopefully he doesn't spoil the rest of the bunch..Funny story about Nicolas Cage.  I find it really strange whenever they have an actor speak a graduation?

Quiet day here....just studying.  Waiting on my friend's mom.  She's expected to go any day so I've got to drive her to the wake two hours away.  Saw my couch lady yesterday and brought me to a good place mentally.  I was loosing my patience and getting frustrated too easily.  It was driving me crazy since that's not typical for me.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs to you other ladies snow, tend, and #1 mom.

Queen, I just got contacts and I haven't worn them much.  I'm still using the sample pair from the eye doctor.  I have to have "special" contacts because of my allergies.  They ended up being over $50 / box.  Needless to say, I only bought 1 box.  Then, the only frames I could find that I liked were $99.  I usually pay $210 for just my glasses.  I was having a stroke when I found out how much the contacts cost ($228/yr + $210 for the glasses).  The glasses lady told me that with my prescription, I can get my glasses over the counter.  Sure enough, I walked to the pharmacy and found the same frames in my prescription for....drum roll, please....$7.85!!!!  So, I have 1 box of contancts and my glasses for about $60!  I am a very happy camper.

Christy, you should be able to look up your state's standards for each grade level.  That will tell you everything students are expected to know at each grade.  That way, you can help Robert during the summer for things he'll need to know in 1st grade.  He seems to be a very bright boy (with a great mom).

Camm, Mini is one super tough chick and she doesn't even know it.  To her all of this is "normal".  She asked this morning if the MRI will show her "goofyness" that's stuck in her brain.  No matter what happens, she'll be fine, I'll be fine, the family'll be fine.  She's got an amazing support group, including everyone here, and we've  circled the wagons.  I covet your prayers - keep them coming.

Betty, we all have our passions and you should never feel the need to apologize for your's.  There comes a time when people need to be dragged out of their comfort zones so they can see what's going on below their high-horses.  Good luck with your class - it's almost OVER!

Today is stay at home day (finally).  The weather is supposed to get nasty and cold (into the 20's) with about 2 inches of snow.  Tomorrow we have a co-op meeting at 9:30, then we'll do the grocery shopping.  I want to get everything done in the house today and tomorrow afternoon so Saturday I can sit around in my p.j's guilt-free.

Monday I'll take Mini to her MRI by myself.  Hubby's going to stay home with the other kids so he can take them to dance class.  Thier concert is May 8th and he didn't want them to miss a practice.  If everything goes according to plan, I should be able to meet him at the studio.  He'll take the kids, including Mini, home and I'll stay for my dance class.  It's a great stress reliever and I love being around the ladies.

Everyone have a great day.  Tomorrow is Friday - let the parties begin!
Much love to you all,
Mum

Hi all,
Lucas had PT today. Sue brought the new braces for Lucas, but they don't fit. His lower legs just aren't long enough ;D. Also when we tried them on to see if the design was good, they made his problems worse. He decided that if he was going to have a brace up the front of his shin he was going to lean into them ::). Oh well. I'm not sure when Mike (the orthotist) will be able to come out to see Lucas, but when he does casts will be made of Lucas' legs so that custom braces can be made. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. Lucas is about due for new shoes, but I don't want to buy any when the braces are going to require a different size.

Christy - Best wishes with Robert. What problems does he have that have kept him out of school? Thank you for your prayers. That means a lot.

Mum - Are they going to have to do conscious sedation on Mini for her MRI? I'll add her to our churches prayer chain.

Vivyt - Nicolas Cage? When I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras he was King for Endymion I believe. They had given him a key to the city and he threw it away during the parade ::). Mr. Rogers gave my commencement speech ;D.

To all the other lovely ladies out there, God Bless!

Not much going on with me really. The weather is getting bad here too, we are under a storm watch until tomorrow around 4 pm. I have already started shoveling, trying to keep up with it all. We are already at a windchill of 4, well that was earlier, prolly minus now....

Yeah, I am also glad the mechanic was alright but I still couldn't help but say damn because it always seems like it is something when it comes to that car lately. The parts won't be in til tomorrow but at least I'll have them.

All I have to pay for my contacts is 65, my insurance covers the rest but it is only a 6 month supply but trust me, I can make those stretch. Before these new ones they gave me, I had the others for a year. I was suppose to go back to the other place to order more, now I am glad that I didn't.

That's about it for me....

Hello Ladies. Just a quick post.                                                      Minismum, thank you so much for the compliment.Excellent suggestion about the grade requirements and I will make sure to look those up. I feel like he does better with more one on one so I will continue to work with him .                                                                                   #1 mom, basically Robert tends to catch any little bug that goes around school and I keep him home if he is sick. Thankfully he is HIV negative  and has no other health issues. Thank you for asking. Hope they get Lucas' braces correct soon.                                                  Camms, my ID doc is located in Greensboro, about 45 minutes each way. Sometimes a pain to drive that far but worth it to me since my doctor is great.                                                                                      Keeping I am so sorry that you are so sick. I hope you get better soon.                                                                                                         Goodnight ladies.  Cristy

Mom: Yes, Mim will have to be sedated for the MRI - there's no way she could stay still for that long.  I had an MRI when I was 18 and it really freaked me out.  They had to pull me out, I was in hysterics.  She really doesn't mind it.  I go in with her and they use gas to put her to sleep.  Then, they put in the IV.  It makes it much nicer than when they used to walk in and start sticking her.  They call us back before she wakes up so we're there when she does.  It doesn't take her long.  She has to be awake and drink before they take the IV out.  She even has it "easy" there because there's no hair on her arms.  Her last MRI in 1/08, she walked out on her own.

When Mim had her braces, they were always custom made.  She did fine with the casting until they had to cut it off.  They put this tube against her leg, under the casting, so when they cut off the cast, they just cut the tube.  It gave them a guide and protected her leg.  The sound of the saw freaked her out, though.  She had her 1st braces before she was a year old.

Queen, hun, doesn't always seem to pour when it rains?  I got a 3mth supply of contacts, but they'll last me at least a year.  I don't wear them everyday, and they're good for 30 wears.

Cristy, hun, I just call it as I see it :).  I don't blame you for keeping Robert home when he's sick.  If more people did that there would be less "junk" being passed around.  Plus, you have to be careful with him bringing home cooties to you.

On the homefront, Mim is ready for her MRI.  She keeps asking how much longer because her head is still hurting.  We see her PID 2wks from tomorrow and that's REALLY where we need prayers.  My big fear is that in all of our research, the stuff Mim seems to have is common in pozzies with low CD4 counts.  I'm afraid that this is an indication that, after nearly 7yrs of u/d, we're going to find a load and dropping T's.  I put full blame on her PID if that happens.  She's the one, after all, who has refused to change Mim's combo and, essentially, put her on Kaletra monotherapy.

Have a great Friday!
Much love to you all!
Mum

Cristy - I'm sorry Robert catches everything, but glad he doesn't have major heath issues. I'm with mum, I wish more mothers were like you and kept their kids home when they are sick. Keep up the good work ;).

Mom - That's how they tried to do Lucas' MRI also. Unfortunately, they couldn't keep him still until they stopped his breathing. Even with having an LMA for them to control his breathing he woke up great, no problems. His first braces were simple AFO that he did not need casted to make. We'll just have to wait and see how he does. He kind of likes being scared :o and likes running the vacuum   :D so it should be alright. Does mini take anything to prevent osteoporosis? I just read that there is an increased risk with both CP and HIV. Lucas goes 2/24 for his preop exam and I'm going to ask about it.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Morning ladies,

Cristy, I think it's important to keep kids home when they're sick.  Robert shouldn't be punished for that.

Camms, yes, a couple times while in the coma, I seem to remember seeing what was going on.  I do remember when the nurse hung up the bag of Insulin  (I was in the coma was when I was diagnosed with diabetes; the feeding they were giving me had an extremely high sugar content in it, which affected my pancreas).  I was thinking I wasn't diabetic before the coma, so why was the nurse hanging up the bag of Insulin?  Since I didn't know anything that was going on, I thought she was trying to kill me.  When a couple of my friends came up, apparently I wrote on a piece of paper "doctor, no," to indicate that I thought something was wrong.  Of course, I don't remember any of that.  What I do remember is that the coma was probably the most terrifying thing  I've ever been through.

Mum, I'm hoping for the best for Min's MRI and her next bloodwork.  I don't understand the reasoning of her PID, keeping her on a med she's shown resistance to.  It makes no sense at all.

Latrice, I sure hope you get better soon.  I'm sorry you're sick, it sucks.

#1 mom, good luck with Lucas' braces.  I have one on my left leg (I'm sure it's not as big or complicated as your son's).   I hope he does alright.

Queen, you still have to pay for contacts even though you have Medicare/Medicaid?  Because I was thinking about getting some the next time I see the eye doctor.

Last night in my Biology class, the teacher gave us a list of words/processes we're going to have to know for the final.  There's 187 in all (I counted them).  I thought I was going to faint.  That's so much to know, so I'll be studying all weekend and the days before the test.  I'm extremely stressed out about it.

Today I'm going to the Y, and to the library to get a book (I always read before bed).  And I'm going to try to get a recycling container.  Other than that, I'll probably be studying.  I don't have anything planned for this weekend except studying (do you see a theme here).  I'm finding lately that when someone talks about their parents, I really miss mine and almost cry.  I know it's been awhile, but they're still on my mind a lot.       You ladies have a good day.

Mom: no one has suggested that she take anything for osteoporosis.  She had a DEXA scan done in Jan '08 to check her bone density and it was normal.  She'll have to repeat the DEXA every other year.

They've never had to stop her breathing for her to be still.  Once she's out, she's out.  We had one issue last year with an uninformed anestesia doctor.  After the MRI, while we were waiting for mim to wake up, he came into the room panicked because while she was going to sleep, Mim accidentally scratched him!  He was mortified that he had just contracted HIV!  He tried showing me the scratch on his wrist.  Honestly, I couldn't see anything.  I was caught between slapping him and laughing at him.  I told him (iin a very exaggerated sarcastic tone) that he should be tested every week for the next 3mths just to be sure.  I also suggested he started PEP.  My hope was that he would do it, unnecessarily, and make himself look all the stupider.  I hope he's not there this time.

A week from Monday, she sees her lipid doctor.  She has chronic high cholesterol / triglycerides.  She's on 1000mg of fish oil / day.  That day we'll know everything (CD4 / %'s) except her VL, takes a couple of weeks to come in.  By the time we see her PID, we'll be well armed with lab and MRI results.

Today we're going to a co-op meeting then grocery shopping.  I got most of the cleaning done and nearly all the laundry.  I'm trying hard to "earn" the right to lay in my PJ's tomorrw and do nothing.

Have a great Friday!

Hello Ladies-

Friday is here!

Queen-  Did you get buried in with more snow at this point?  or were you fortunate enough to have just a threat of a storm?

Mum-  I hope you earned your PJ day for tomorrow because you deserve it.  It's been a week of trials for you.  I did, however, laugh at the absurdity of the anesthesia doctor. You should have recommended  that he have HIS head checked out.

BT-  Geeze, the coma sounds terrifying. Glad you don't remember the horrible state of feeling paranoid, you could really be affected by that sensation of fear.
Good luck studying this weekend.  It will be over before you know it.

Latrice- Get well soon.

Christy-  Hope Robert is feeling better.

Not much to report.  It's incredibly windy and cold today.  Just more online classes to plow through.
Hope everyone has a good Friday.

Hugs,

Camms

BT- I would of loved to hear the conversation with the lady in class, it always amazes me how ignorant people are.  Good for you and getting out to the gym in this weather.  I have no motivation this time of year.  I love the outdoors and would like to start walking/hiking again when the weather gets nice but I am afraid to go by myself. Happy Studying!!

Viv- Did you say if you had an aide or not in your classroom?  I don't know how you could do it without one.

Keeping- I hope that you are feeling better.

Queen- That is good that your eye sight is better, you new contacts sound cool.  Sorry to hear about your mechanic's accident.

Camm- How do you like your online classes?  Is it hard to concentrate on them being that you are at home?  I wish I could do something like that but my computer has been really slow lately, driving me bonkers.

Mum- LOL, funny what you said to the put to sleep doc.  It really bothers me when people that are in the medical profession are clueless, it is no wonder everyday people don't have a clue.  Do all MRI make a lot of noise?  I had one when I kept having bad headaches and found it really hard to endure, I hope Minis won't be like.

Mom1- Sorry the braces didn't fit, I hope they get that worked out soon.

cjc- That is one of my biggest gripes with public school. It seems like a lot of people send their kids when they should be kept home and in bed resting.  That is another reason I hate the winter, at least 2 out of 4 of my kids get something at school, bring it home to the other 2 and then of course me.

I lost my mind yesterday and printed off a coupon for Chuck-e-cheese, that place drives me nuts, but they like it.  Sometimes the adults that are there are complete assholes, trying to win a bunch of tickets.
I was just looking through my papers and I found a medication log that my nurse filled out for me when I first got diagnosed.  I had forgotten I was had taken so many meds. I was on Bactrim 1x day, epivir 1-2x/day, viracept 5pills-2x/day, fortovase 6pills-2x/day and ziagen( I think it one 2x a day, she wrote a T though?).  The one I remember hating the most is the chewable videx, those things were so nasty.  I feel so blessed that I am on just the atripla now especially since they had told I had run out of options about 5 years into diagnosis.  I hope everyone has a nice Friday and a good weekend.

Hi everyone. I hope you all have a nice weekend. I work 22 hours in two days :P. At least that schedule lets me be home with Lucas during the week :).

Mum - Lucas has never had a DEXA scan. Did they recomend starting at 8 then every other year? I'm sorry you had such an idiot for an anesthesiologist. I work in the operating room and unfortunately a lot of people who should know better don't. I was not that bad, but I had a lot to learn when I adopted Lucas. Now I educate others in my  department, or at least try to. I hope you take a PJ day tomorrow. You've definitely earned it ;D.

Betty - Lucas' braces will probably be a simple one piece, going around his foot and ankle then up the back of the leg. Because the braces are stiff they need to be fitted carefully so they don't rub. Good luck with bio. Just keep telling yourself, I think I can, I think I can. You're in the home stretch baby ;).

Snow - Thanks for thinking of us. I'm sure they'll get the braces right, I just need to learn to be patient. I'm so glad you're on atripla now and doing well. Did you ever take liquid videx? Lucas takes that now, and I just wondered how it compared to the chewable.

Well, I'm going to try and take a quick power nap before going in for my 12 hour night shift. For all those not feeling well, I hope you bundle up and rest this weekend. God Bless.

Get well soon Latrice.

I've spent too long between responses now I've got too much to respond too. LOL

Mum my late husband had brain leasions in the last couple of years before he passed. He had a stroke also so I never really knew if it was the leasions or the stroke that made him dizzy or fainty.
I hope Mini turns out to be ok and that the tests go well. I know how tough it is to deal with the fears and anxieties that come when one of your children is sick in a way that you cant fix or help make all better.

Netta I was shocked because I did not recall you writting about a regular bo. So thats why I was surprised to hear you had gotten married. Your a beautiful woman it does not surprise me that someone would want to marry you.

Mom, her PID never suggested a DEXA scan.  I told her I wanted one because there were meds that I wanted her switched to that suggested a base DEXA be done before they were started.  Also, we were really trying to to track down her continued pain in her joints and weakness that seemed to not go away.  The report we got stated that unless we have concerns, we should have her re-tested every 2yrs until puberty.  Not sure what we're supposed to do then :-\  We also had to tell her PID to test her for sickle cell.  She's 1/2 black with HIV - 2 BIG reasons to be tested and yet it was never suggested.  We had her tested for juvenile arthritis at the same time just to round it all out.

Winni, it can be gut-wrenching.  But, I'm very at peace with everything right now.  Worrying about it or dwelling on what may or may not be won't change a single thing.  All it will do is make me and everyone else miserable.  Some people have complained that I'm not "worried enough".  Not sure what that's supposed to mean.

Betty, good luck studying, my love!  Sending you all my Biology braincells your way (though it won't be much).

The MRI place called today and changed her appointment from 2pm on Monday to 8am.  We have to be there by 7:30, meaning we have to be pulling out at 5:30am!!  She's wearing her clothes to bed so all I have to do is pick her up and put her in the car.  She can't have anything to eat after midnight and until 6am, she can only have apple juice or clear Gatorade.  No milk and nothing red or orange.  I'll bring her some chocolate milk for after her test.

I'm doing the last load of laundry as we speak.  I'm hoping to have it all folded after the kids go to bed.  They can put it away in the morning.  I bought myself a nice cumfy nightgown for PJ day tomorrow ;D  It'll be a day of boardgames and playdough and coloring and reading and eating and precious little else.

Welp, it's family night and the kids are putting in "The Borrowers".  I'll talk to you all tomorrow!

Good Morning-

Snow-  I really enjoy the online classes for a few reasons....I can wear my pajamas, my hair can look like "a rat's nest" no commuting and I can utilize them at my own pace.  The downside is my great dane.  She needs to have a good romp every morning.  If it's raining etc, I have her head constantly squeezing between my arm and the laptop.  As for your meds, I bet it's nice when it's time to downsize to a smaller pillbox.

Mum-  Worried enough?  Worrying is so counter productive and there is nothing to be gained by worrying. Worrying is the opposite of faith, it steals our peace and physically drains us.  If someone says your "not worried enough" I bet those people are worried in their own lives. I think the change in the MRI schedule might be a good thing.  Mini may be really sleepy going in and might make things a little easier on her.  Also, its very early in the day and before you know it, it will be over.

I've been up since 4 which is strange for me.  I'm usually in bed until 6:30.  I got the call last night at midnight that my girlfriend's mom finally passed. I'm glad that she is at peace at last.  My friend is going through a hard time on top of this.  She has no clothes that she can wear to the wake so today I'm going to pick her up and take her to target.  She owns very few possessions because of her ex husband but that's a whole other post.

My brain is a little foggy and I'm waiting for the coffee to kick in.  Wishing everyone well today.

Hugs,

Camms

Morning ladies,

Mum, I remember that man from Min's last MRI who was panicked because of Min's "scratch."  I thought it was ridiculous then, and I still do.  I hope there's someone else doing that job now.  A child having an MRI is hard enough, you don't need an idiot to deal with.  And about worrying, well, I agree with you-it won't change anything.  I believe some worry is normal, until we start to think rationally again.  I hope you have a good p.j. day.

Camms, That's nice of you to take your friend to Target. I'm sorry about her mom, but like you said, I'm glad she's at peace.  I'm glad to hear your encouraging feelings about online classes.  The next 8 weeks (where I go the classes are broken down into 8 week periods), I'm taking an online class.  I never have before and I'm a bit worried.  What are you studying for?

Snow, I don't like Chuck e. cheese at all.  It's too loud and their pizza is cheap and tasteless.  That pill regimen you were on sounds like old school medicine (at least a couple of them).  I remember the Videx and I'm always surprised when I hear about doctors still prescribing it.    I make myself exercise because I truly do want to get the diabetes under better control, and I want to be as healthy as I can be.

#1 mom, Lucas' braces are pretty complicated then.  My brace goes from a bit above my knee to a bit below my knee.  Braces are expensive though, aren't they.  Just the one I have cost $1500.00.  Anyway, I hope whatever company is making his braces gets them right.  Good luck with work; those are long shifts.

Wendy, what's going on with you?

We're getting a bunch of snow that's supposed to last until this afternoon-lake effect snow.  We have about 3 inches on the ground and are supposed to get 4-6 more.  Then tomorrow it's supposed to start all over again.  I don't remember getting this much snow for a few years.  I don't like it at all.

Today will be filled with studying.  It's going to take me awhile to remember 189 terms.  I'm so over it and am ready for it to be over.   I know it will be soon enough.  Other than that, I don't have anything else planned for today.  I might join you, mum, in it being a p.j. day.         Nothing exciting to report.  You ladies have a good day.

Betty, I remember seeing the bill for Mini's 1st pair of braces - $5000!! :o  The orthotics place made me sign a paper saying that if insurance didn't pay, then we agreed to.  Man, did I start praying for them not to be denied!  They had to be sent away, had this metal strip going from the top, just below her knee, hinged at the ankle (made finding shoes fun - NOT), then went to her toes.  There was an extra piece under her toes that kept them up so her foot was in a constant 45-degree angle.  She had tight heel cords.  We called them her "power legs".  Now her Cabbage Patch doll wears them.

I'd forgotten about the idiot until we started getting ready for this recent MRI.  The nurse had put Mini's bed directly under a set of cabinets.  When Mini woke up, she sat up fast and smacked her head on the corner of the cabinet.  I thought, "Good grief! All we need is for her head to bleed."  What idiot puts a bed under a cabinet when there are 2 other walls with nothing above them?

I'm in my P.J's watching the dog show on our teeny big-butt antiquated TV.  Mini is in the kitchen writing down the names of all her children - she's up to #16 :o

You ladies have a wonderful weekend.

Good afternoon everyone.  :) Today is a beautiful day and I have to be inside... >:( I need to get laundry done and ALL my work. Someday I'll be ahead of it all. Well, last night I had dinner with my dad, my sister, and my grandparents. I told my family that I did not want to celebrate my birthday and they just went ahead and made plans. It was ok at first. We went to dinner, I really didn't have much to say and then we went back to my dad's house. We were talking about the cutbacks at school and I was talking about how I really don't make that much money and he brought up my Master's. Well, I never finished it. I was right at the thesis part and I was allowed, along with a few others, to walk in the ceremony with the understanding that we would finish over the summer. Health wise things had already started going south. (This was about a year before I was diagnosed) Basically I never finished but my dad didn't know this. So he finds out last night and he is all upset and lets me how disappointed he is. Of course I started to cry and then just left. My sister got so mad at my dad and I was embarrassed in front of my grandparents. My mom knew about me not finishing, we just didn't tell him. I was just so upset because it feels like I am always a disappointment. Oh well...I guess I'll have something to talk about when I see my therapist Tuesday.  :)

Changing topics...I went an bought one of those Swiffer Mops, you know the one that has the liquid in it? I have tried MANY things to clean my floors and I just can't find one I like. My dog brings in dirt and I am constantly sweeping. I am going to try and see how it works. We'll see if I have 100% satisfaction, LOL!

Have a good day everyone!
Andrea

Evening Ladies---

I think the storm we were suppose to get has slipped by us. It was just bitter cold that one day, light coating of snow and windy as hell. Not much going on with me really. I got a new digital camera so I have been playing around with that. I was suppose to see Rey today so that fell through due to work. His boss was in town and Rey had to fire someone today. Needless to say I was disappointed. Other than, nothing to report but I'll continue to check in...

Wendy, Wow!  I can't believe she's a year old already.  Good grief time has flown.  Did she get all gooey with the birthday cake?  Umm....pictures?

I had a really bad night last night - didn't sleep well.  I thought I could get away with not taking my allergy pill before bed.  Needless to say, I won't be doing that again.  So, I'm up and showered, trying to be quiet so I don't wake up the gang.  After church, I'll get a nap in.

It snowed last night.  It's not supposed to snow any more today - just be freezing cold.  Tomorrow's weather looks good, too, again, just cold.  By the end of the week, we could be looking at 50F.  I'm so over winter!

Hubby and I started attending an educational co-oping group last week.  We meet every Friday and there are different sessions for the kids to go to.  Hubby is teaching 2 Spanish classes and I'm teaching a drama class and a "how to write a research paper" class for highschool boys. Last Friday was a planning meeting so that this Friday is our first official "class" day.  So far we have 28 kids from preschool - highschool.  I'm super excited. I'll still have our 3 oldest kids in my drama class and Hubby will have the 5 oldest kids in his Spanish class, between the 2 sessions he'll teach.  The other classes they'll have are art, music, and gym.

In the fall, we'll offer all of the above plus Civics, American History, Home Ec. (life skills), auto mechanics, highschool math, sign language, and creative writing.  We'll also have tutoring sessions in reading, writing, and math.

PJ day was wonderful.  We played board games, watched movies, talked, hung out, watched the kids put on a "show", and ate a big pot of homemade chili for supper.  I've decided that PJ day will be at least a monthly fixture in our home.  It was great for decompressing.

Well, I need to check the driveway and see if Hubby needs to wake up and shovel us out.  Stay warm!

Mum

edited to add: We watched "The Changling" last night and it was amazing!  It's a true story and was done beautifully.  I'm not an Angelina fan, but even she did great.  It was directed by Clint Eastwood and also stars John Malovich and produced by Ron Howard.  I HIGHLY recommend it.

Morning ladies,

Mum, I'll be thinking about you and Min tomorrow morning and hoping for a good experience.  I didn't stay in my p.j.'s yesterday, but I didn't go anywhere either.  Homemade chili sounds good.

Andrea, your dad is a jackass.  I'm so sorry he made you upset and I wish you could have had a better time.  How's the Swiffer mop?

Wendy, how was the party?

Queen, I keep thinking about getting a digital camera (whenever I have the extra money), but I'm so lousy with technical stuff, I wonder how hard it would be to learn how to work?  Sorry you didn't get to see Rey.

Well, we have 8 (yes, eight) inches of snow.  I am so sick of all this, I'm ready to move to Arizona with my sister today.  I went out and cleared off my car and shoveled a path from my door to the car.   I hope I can get out tomorrow, 'cause I have laundry to do.  I wish I had a snowblower, then it wouldn't take much time to clear things off.  I honestly don't remember when the last winter season was where we've had so much snow, and so late into the new year.  Usually by this time, the snow is clearing out.  I do remember when I was younger, we used to have snow, sometimes in April.  Please don't let that be the case this year.

Today I'm going to be studying again.  That's what I'll be doing until Thursday night.  I studied for a long time yesterday, then had to lay down.  Some of those terms are so hard to remember.  It makes my head ache to study too long, so I'm going to try to break it up.  Anyway, other than that, nothing else happening.  You ladies have a good day.

We had all the kids ready for church and they cancelled.  They said that the parking lot was a sheet of ice.  We have about 3 inches of snow on top of 1/4 inch of ice.  It's supposed to snow 1 - 2 more inches, but so far all we've had are peeks of sun.  Yesterday was sunny and we didn't want to go anywhere.  Now that it's nasty outside, we've got cabin fever. :-\

Betty, I remember the last time we had this much snow - it was the winter of 02 - 03.  The only reason I remember is because I was hugely pregnant with #5 wondering what was going to happen if I went into labor and we couldn't get out.  We dug a hole through the snow to the ground and put Mini inside of it - you couldn't see her at all.  She was 2 1/2.  #5 was born on 3/29 and on 3/30 they wouldn't let us go home from the hospital because is was snowing and we lived 1 1/2 hours away.  Since then Hubby and I have commented about how "lucky" we've been with mild winters.  I guess our luck ran out.

I had a bad headache so I took advil and went to lay down for an hour.  This was at 9, I just woke up at 11.  But, I'm feeling better and that's all that matters.

Hope the rest of you are having a warmer day!

Some of yall are going to hate me. <joke> LOL I have my doors and windows open. Its about 70 degrees here and lovely sunny.

The party went well. The baby was given a cup cake and had no clue what to do with it. She just looked at it like it was a rock. With help she ate some and threw a little when her hands came up dirty with icing.

No, I don't hate you for having beautiful weather, I am just jealous. :-*                                     Mum, i will be thinking of you tomorrow and praying for the best.             Not much else to say tonight, we are happy, warm and safe. Wendy, she's BEAUTIFUL!  I think she looks like you.  I can't believe how big she is - and all that hair.

Nothing going on.  Getting ready to watch a movie with the kids.  I ended up taking another 2 hour nap this afternoon.  I just hope I can sleep tonight.  Hubby got off easy today.  The sun came out and melted the snow on the driveway so he didn't have to shovel.

I'll let you all know how it went tomorrow.

Hello Ladies, hope all is well. Ladies I have to apologize for a misunderstanding, I was griping about people being suprized I got married and how they probly thought I was gay or that POZ people don't have a life after diagnosed.
I did not mean any of YOU ladies, I was talking about people in my community that know, friends and church members.
I expected you all to be suprised because I kept it a secret !! I didn't want to say anything to you all untill we had gotten married. You see, I was talking to James online, we met on a dating site, but just friends, this was during the time navyman had come, down and I discussed how disapointed I was with him. Well James andI kept talking , and textn, and I.M. and we found ourselves having hours and hours of conversation on the phone and we just knew something was stirring ,so i invited him down for New years when he had time oof from work.and we just hit it of, this was a worldwind romance, it all happened so fast, I was miserable with out him and we missed each other so much. He was the yin to my yang and we decided he would move here, after his plant was closing and laying off, his family is very happy for us and I talk to them from up north, and things fell into place, , he has never been married before,we knew it was the right thihg to do. I have been married a few times and they all ended in disaster!!!!, We are going to save for a wedding in the near future because he wants one,we were very honest with each other from the start. My husband is an x iv drug user and has a past, like we all do, he is hiv+ . hie ladies

netta - im so happy for you and James. i wish u all the best in your marriage, u truly are blessed

betty - good luck with the biology. i used to like biology in high school coz it was real, u know, talking about things u can actually see and touch. but when it came to funny formulas my brain would shut down:)

wendy - thats a pretty baby u guys got there

viv - sorry about the thing with your dad. i remember how i used to cry whenever my dad shouted at me for anything.  sometimes i'd disappoint him without even meaning to, it always felt awful. How do u like your new swiffer

mum - how did it go?

camms - my condolences about your friends mum. she's at peace at last.

snow - that was a whole lot of pills u were taking, however did u manage it

keeping - i hope u're all better now

my weekend was alright, we had a tiny liittle party (if u can call it that) for my nephew and my aunts kid. just us and a couple of cakes. my nephew is 'talking' ,  now pretty soon we might be able to actually understand him. he's so adorable, i wish i could print out the photos i took on my phone.
i had another insect incident while mr o-o-t was here on friday, this time it was a spider and i totally freaked out.i couldnt scream though coz we were eating breakfast and my mouth was full so i was more like jumping around making these really loud moans or whatever. i totally hate spiders and i ended up crying and he was comforting me after he killed it and i felt so stupid picturing what i must have looked like in my panic ::)

Good Monday Morning-

Tend-  Was this spider poisonous or you just completely fear spiders?

Viv-  I cannot believe your father.  I could understand him being surprised, but he handled it all wrong.  I know, just from what you've posted, you're very sensitive about your family.  I'm 39 and my dad got upset that I visited him in the hospital after his hip replacement. I left immediately and started to cry. (It was his pain meds that were making him miserable).  However,  I immediately felt like I was five again.
Swiffer is the way to go.  I have one and it makes cleaning so much easier.

Mum-  Mini is in our prayers today.  I hope the MRI goes smoothly.

BT-  I'm taking classes for my certification with Adobe for graphic design and web graphics.  I have been thinking about going back to school, all together for a masters in fine arts.  Sorry to hear about all the snow.  I live in Jersey and I think we had 4 inches all season so I should count my blessings.

Wendy-  She is beautiful.  A real cutie.  How many times did she try to tear the ribbon off her head?

Queen-  What kind of camera did you get?  Do you know how many mega pixels?

Ladies have a great day.  Heading down the beach for a walk with the dog.  It's 25 degrees today so I'll be layering.

Hugs,

Camms

Morning ladies,

Mum, most of the churches were closed yesterday because of the snow.  Yeah, we were getting mild winters also. So much for that.  I'm thinking about you and Min and hoping the MRI  goes alright.

Wendy, she is adorable.  What have you been up to?

Netta, I am so happy for you.  Whenever you have the wedding, you're definitely going to have to post some pictures.  My second ex was an i.v. drug user.  He didn't have HIV, but he does have hep C.

Tendai, I'm trying to picture you with your mouth full of food, going around in circles making loud noises.  I don't like spiders either.  I'm glad Mr. o-o-t was there to take care of it for you.

Camms, if you go after your master's, would you do it online?  My brother's girlfriend is getting her master's in education online.   How can you go down by the beach when it's only 25F degrees out?  Isn't the wind colder there?

I'm really not feeling well today.  A couple of my friends at school had stomach viruses last week (why don't people keep their distance when they're sick).  I don't know if it's that, or just nerves from being worried about the upcoming exam in Biology.  Anyway, I've been having the runs, bad headaches, and a nauseous feeling.  And tired without having a reason to be.  I still plan on going to the Y and I have laundry to do, so I'll be going to the laundermat.  Hopefully I'll feel better as the day goes on.

Did anyone watch the Academy awards last night?  I watched part of it.  I saw the guy win the Oscar for best screenplay for Milk and he gave a really awesome acceptance speech.  I was happy to see Slumdog Millionaire win best picture.  I thought all the winners deserved it.  I'm glad Wall-E won also.  I took my granddaughter to see that movie, and I enjoyed it just as much as she did.

Well, I've pretty much said what I'll be doing today, besides studying.  You ladies have a good one.

How many times did she try to tear the ribbon off her head?
Not once. It didn't bother her at all. She actually cried when I pulled it off to reposition it. As soon as it was back on her head she shut up.   Weird baby.  ;D

Wendy, she's BEAUTIFUL!  I think she looks like you.  I can't believe how big she is - and all that hair.
Thankyou. She has no blood ties with me. So any resemblance is coincidence. She does have pretty much the same eye color as me and my boys and she is white and blonde. LOL I was a blonde until my mid teens. My shade was lighter than hers though. Her skin is much nicer than mine. I think she will tan easy. I just freckle and burn.
Her Daddy is naturally dark.

Wendy..whoops! Sorry! :-\  The only kids that look like me and Hubby are the adopted ones.  Our only biological (#5) doesn't look like either one of us.  Go figure.

The MRI went well.  No stupid anesthsia doctors.  As a matter of a fact, the one we had was wonderful!  Actually, the entire staff was great.  I got to go in with her while they were giving her gas to put her to sleep before putting in the IVs.  She was quite goofy on her way to la-la land.  On the way home, we went through the Chic-fil-a drive through for 4 nuggets, fruit, and 1% milk.  LOL - that's what constitutes fast-food to my kids - and they still dont' get to eat it much.

The results are already in the computer system so as soon as Dr. D finishes his surgeries, he'll be able to look it up and call.  His nurse said that if it wasn't today, it would definately be tomorrow.  I'm anxious to know.

Oh, CRAP, I almost forgot.  I *think* - am pretty sure really - that we have a new HIV specialist for Mini!  YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!  His office is 4hrs away and out of state,  but we'd only have to go every 6mths, so it won't be bad.  We'll just need to work out the insurance stuff.  I'm so excited!  She sees her PID on 3/9 and it would be so awesome to have all this in place when we go.

I'm off to take a nap - didn't sleep so good last night and hit the road before 5am.  I'll let you all know something as SOON as I do.  Love you all!

Mum-  That's really wonderful news regarding the new doctor.  It must be a wonderful feeling that you'll be getting the care you need and deserve.

BT-  I bundle up with a layer of thermals top/bottoms, wool sweater, jeans, a ridiculous hat, and scarf topped off with a heavy cardhardt.  On really cold days my dog wears one of my sweaters for real.

Hi everyone! Not much going on today. We went to story time at the library. Miss Amy the children's librarian is wonderful! She always includes songs and has shakers/clappers/bells for the kids to use. Lucas is really getting into that. You should see him dancing around singing and shaking his bells ;D.

Betty - I hope you're feeling better. Lucas sends a kiss to help make you feel better :-*. I'm not sure how expensive his braces will be. Last time he had surestep braces (only covered the foot and ankle) and they were about $850. Thank God for insurance. I haven't heard from his orthotist about a date for the casting. I'll give him until tomorrow then call. One thing is that this orthotist doesn't charge until you get braces that work 8).

Mum - I'm glad the test went smoothly. I'm praying for mini and the family. I'm glad you're getting a new doctor for mini.

Wendy - What a cutie!

Tendai - My husband is terrified by spiders. He once woke me up to deal with a spider for him.

Viv - I'm so sorry for how your birthday went. Lucas is sending a hug your way. Nothing helps me more than one of his hugs ;D.

Well, that's about it for now. Take care everyone.

Mum - Glad you found another doc and are excited about it. I hope it turns out to be doctor right.
Don't worry about the whoops. Even though she is not blood related I could not love her any more.
I know you understand.

Cute pup Cam.

Lucas's Mom - I was just telling my Billy yesterday that when I was a girl they had a number you could call and a automated system would tell you a story.  If I'd had a library close to home I'd likely have lived there.

Today I have been cleaning house and uploading cds to the computer for putting onto the Ipod.
I also window shopped online. LOL so strange for me to type that. I've never really shopped online before. I found a women's site that has clothes size 12 and up and also tall sizes. I've been eyeballing the leggings and tunic length shirts. Comfort ya know.

I managed to get 5 kitchen sized bags full of linens and blankets to donate to someone. I haven't figured out who yet. Charities usually send a card in the mail every once in a while saying call us and we will pick up your donations. Which is better than me having to cart it to them.
I want to downsize. The clutter of merging several households and things over the years you no longer need but cant seem to let go of even though there is nothing sentimental about the stuff is so annoying.

Hows that for a run on sentence? ;D

I feel I accomplished some of what I'd like done so I'm good for today.

I'm back from dance class and extremely tired but not sleepy - if that makes sense.  Dr. Daniel's nurse called about 2pm to let us know that Dr. D looked at the MRI and "found nothing scarey".  I asked her what that means, because something that's not scarey to him might scare the crap outta me, since we're talking about my daughter and not his.  She said that all Dr. D said was that he didn't find anything "scarey" but he'd have to wait for the official report Wed. or Thurs, then he'll call.  :-\

The best I can figure is that he meant he didn't see a tumor.  In his office, he referred to the posibility of Mini having a tumor as "scarey" and CNS lesions as "really not good either."  Also, it's easier to see a tumor than it is lesions.  So, now we wait a couple more days and see what happens.

Words are starting to blur.  Good sign it's time to go to bed.
Much love to you all,
Mum

Mum- I'm glad everything went well with Mini. I wonder too, what nothing scary means? Huh...

Cams- Ok, that picture of your dog cracked me up! Is it a boy or a girl? My dog doesn't really enjoy wearing sweaters. So funny...

#1 Mom- Thank you...that was really sweet.

Wendy- I am totally loving leggings and anything that covers my butt. It is comfortable.

Betty- I hope you feel better. I turned the Oscar's on just as Heath Ledger's dad was giving his acceptance speech which was really all I wanted to see. I like the shows after talking about what everyone wore... :)

Well nothing much going on. It is that time of year again...REPORT CARDS. They are due next week. I am planning on being done with everything this week end. That would feel so good. Talk to you all later.

Wendy, have you tried Woman Within?  It is the ONLY place I buy clothes.  Ok, I occasionally buy a shirt from Wal-mart, but Woman Within rocks!  They now have tunic shirts in 5 different lengths.  Their clothes are real high quality without the high prices.  They have awesome sales, too.  Once you buy something from them, theyll send you a catalog with great deals.  The one I have now is when I buy 2 items, the first is 30% off and the second one is 25% off.  Watch the sizing chart.  When things are listed as S,M,L,XL, they are 1 size smaller than usual.  In stores, I buy an XL, but from them, it's a L.

Vyv, Dr. D is in the office all day today, so I'm hoping he'll call so that I can talk to him.  I'm sure he looked at the MRI then called the office in between surgeries.  I was greatful that I got a call at all, cryptic as it was.  Once this is all settled, I'm calling and setting up an appointment for #6.  He's very PRO fitting her with a hearing aid in her right ear.  Did I mention how much I love this guy?

Today we've got to hit the books hot and heavy.  Have a great Tuesday!

Good morning Ladies,

I feel so much better. I am now back at work. I am my 7th day of antibiotics for that swollen sore throat that I had. I have been looking just not posting. I was feeling so awful. Everytime I get sick I get scared. I guess that will pass also. There's nothing really exciting going on for me anyways :) I had a wonderful weekend with my Hubby it was so romantic.

Mum- I'm glad you finally found a doctor that you like for Mini. It's nothing like a doctor that you like and trust.

Win- I am so in love with leggings. Give me a shirt big enough to cover my behind and that's all I need.

Snow- Hey chick I am feeling better. I texted you the other day. How is everything with you?

Ten- Are you enjoying the new house. I am feeling much better.

Well I have alot of work to catch up on. I will talk to you guys later

Morning ladies,

Camms, I love that picture of your dog.  And I also liked the picture of the deer tromping through the snow that's almost over their heads.

Wendy, what's the name of that site you were on with the large and tall women's clothes?  That's something I need, though I usually get my clothes at Goodwill. :)

Mum, I'm so glad you like Dr. Daniel.  Please let us know if he calls you today.  I'm glad, at least, so far it's nothing scarey.

#1 mom, thank Lucas for that kiss.  It made me feel better.

Andrea, I'm holding you to the fact that you said you'd be done with everything this weekend. :)

Latrice, I'm glad you're feeling better.  What did you and your hubby do this weekend that was so romantic?  Enquiring minds want to know.

If I have to eat veggies again, I'm going to gag.  Yep, I've only been on this diet a week, and I'm sick of it.  I want something fried with melted chocolate on it.  That's terrible and inpatient isn't it.  This is just such a new way of eating, that it's going to take me a long while to get used to it.  I don't even have any ice cream or candy in the house, and I feel naked.  I've been measuring serving sizes, and trying to get in what I'm supposed to be eating.  But damn, I do want something fattening soon.

Today I'm just going to clean and study.  Nothing else exciting (not that that is).  You ladies have a good day.

Hi ladies, My husband is a diabetic and  takes 3 insulins!!! he eats what he wants and is very stubborn. today he had his first appointment at the free clinic and his numbers were through the roof ! 300!!! of course he forgot to take his insulin!! I wanted to kill him !!! he is very good at keeping up and keeping me up with my meds, but this day was just ridiculous !!! the doctor checked it thats how he knew it was so high, and after I let him drive to the doctor by himself !!(he is trying to learn his way around town) so I stayed home. last nite he cooked me a great dinner, while I went to play rehersal. My church is doing skits again and this one is about an hiv+ woman who is shunned by her family. It should be interesting, the topic will be depression.Oh we went to the moives and saw "ma dear goes to jail " it was real funny.
Hope all is well. I am enjoying married life, but I have to get use to cooking for someone again, I used to eat anything, but my husband is 215lbs. and eats 3 full course meals a day !He buys all the groceries, which is his favorite passtime, besides looking fora job, he is going to school online to study business and accountanting.
I am on antibiotics again!! for an ulcer in my mouth that hurts like hell, I am being treated for periodontal gum desease, which I do in 2 visits, which i have to pay for because we have no  dental insurance for hvi in this state, this is a shame, and I wll proply have  to have some teeth removed and get dentures or partials, again another high cost.
Hope all is well. luv netta

I haven't looked at Woman Within. I'll take a peek though. Thanks.

betty - i hear u on the veggies. i can only stand them when they have a bit of meat on the side otherwise - yuck! so u're not allowed even tiny little portions of the good stuff? just to take the edge off..

keeping - im liking the new house BUT im feeling bad coz my landlord is being taken to court by the girl who moved from my cottage bcoz she claims some money went missing. which is a load of bull as she was moved out coz of failure to pay rent, so where did that money come from when she wasnt paying rent? i'm hoping nothing happens to them as its all cooked up. first the money was on the window, then it was in a bag then it was in the washing basket. first it was $150 then it was $250. i dont know why the magistrate isnt throwing the case out. apart from that its ok.  im glad u're feeling better. i'm one of the enquring minds wanting to know what u guys were up to...:)

netta - its great that u're loving your marriage and looking after each other with James.  Bummer about the oral issues, the pain, not to mention u're restricted when it comes to food and kissing ;). Hope it heals soon

mum - im glad u're loving Dr D.  'nothing scarey' sounds good. hopefully it'll stay that way..

camms - i hate spiders with all my heart.  it was one of those flat house spiders but it just freaked me out. i guess its too much of me watching horror movies where people get eaten by creatures.  oh and i've got a gecko in the house.  that i also hate but i read on it that it eats spiders and other insects so i guess i'll have to co-exist with it, as long as it stays out of my way (not that i'll ever be brave enough to kill it) :)  I also loved the picture of those deer up to their necks in the snow, and the warm dog

absolutely nothing going on here.  we're sitting back watching these guys try to run the new government. its tricky coz Mugabe and/or his generals wont help things along much, keeping people in prison when they're supposed to released etc. i dont know what it will take for them to just give up and release the stranglehold they have over our country. jerks. on a brighter note, the teachers and nurses are going back to work coz they got paid in foreign currency (US100).  They had wanted US$2-3000 each and people were like "get real - where will that come from". Its a start anyway..

Speaking of nasty critters, I heard on the radio the other morning that if you have a problem with mice - like field mice or mice in the barn / out buildings, then you should buy an albino mouse.  For some odd reason, albino mice have automatic territorial rights.  The guy said to buy an albino mouse and keep it in a cage.  The other mice will see the albino mouse, and leave.  I guess the things are too stupid to see that it's in a cage and not really in a position to claim rights to anything.

We live in the boonies in the woods.  Lots of critters around.  I'm thinking of looking for an albino mouse and putting it in our barn (in a cage).  It's not so much the mice I'm scared of - well, OK, it is - as much as I'm scared of the snakes that will go into the barn to eat the mice.  I don't think I've stepped one foot in the barn since we built it almost 2 years ago.

We have some sick babies today.  We went from 9F yesterday to a high today of 50F.  Runny noses, sore throats, and coughing abound.  I don't think anybody slept well last night.  Before I went to bed, I dosed out 3 medicine cups of Triaminic (10mls / each) and a handful of cough drops.  That way, when our poor wee ones came in, I didn't have to get out of bed.  I just gave them their dose of Triaminic, a cough drop, kissed them on the head, and scooted them back to bed.  Probably won't win any mommy awards, but it was a worthwhile strategy.

Not a whole lot going on today.  I'm hoping to finish the laundry.  I started yesterday, but didn't get it finished.  I hate doing laundry.  Other than that, it's just the same ol', same ol'.

Have a great hump day!

Good Morning Ladies. Nothing new here. I did go to Robert's attendance meeting Monday and the really nice lady(I kinda expected her to be hateful but she is so nice) said he has missed 20 days but since 16 of those 20 are excused absences, I must have forgotten to write a note for the other 4, and as long as he can do the work, he will be passed. I am very relieved.                                                          Mum, I am glad the MRI showed nothing scary but wish they would have been a little more specific, I hope you get to talk to Dr. D and get more info.                                                                                     Tendai, I like most spiders but not in the house . We get these huge  Wolf spiders, harmless but talk about somebody moving fast, I hate those things.                                                                               Betty , you have more willpower than me. Are you allowed fruit, it might help your sweet tooth while still being healthy.                    Camms, love the picture of your doggie.                                                     Viv, sorry about your birthday dinner and the stuff with your dad  . It seems to hurt more when Dad  fusses at least to me. Hang in there and good luck with Report cards.                                                        Lucas' Mom, We love the library  , they have story time for kids here , too. I wish I could have seen him dancing with the bells. I bet it is priceless.                                                                                 Netta, glad you are happy, you deserve it.                                                Gotta go, heaven help me if I am on the internet and somebody actually calls . Hope everyone has a great day and hope I didn't miss anyone. Later.   Cristy

Morning ladies,

Netta, your hubby takes 3 different insulins?  Wow.  You know I'm diabetic, and I can tell you it's hard following a diabetic diet all the time.  But, it's necessary (at least 98% of the time), if one wants to avoid all the bad things that can happen because of uncontrolled diabetes (having to have limbs taken off, dialysis etc.).  I'm sorry about your gum disease.  I had that back in '89, and had to get dentures.  Do you not have Medicaid?  Because I think they cover part of the expense, or something like that.  I hope your mouth gets to feeling better soon.

Wendy, thanks for that website.  I'm going to check it out.

Tendai, I do cheat a tiny bit sometimes.  Otherwise I would go insane.  A gecko, eh?  When I lived in Alabama, I was going to work one time, went to put on my boots, and there was a little green lizard on them.  I immediately called my brother and had him come over.  Of course, the thing was harmless.   I'm glad the teachers and nurses are going back to work.  I'm really wishing the best for you all and your new government.

Mum, I had to chuckle when I read about you not going into the barn.  I probably wouldn't either.  Not without armour on.  I cannot stand mice; of course, with Poppy, I've never seen one.  I've never heard of the albino mouse thing, but hey, it's worth a try.  Give all the sick kids hugs from me and Poppy.

I was up earlier, then laid back down.  I'm going to be going to the Y in a little bit, after I eat breakfast.  Then I've got a tiny bit of shopping to do, and studying, and school tonight.  Tonight isn't the awful final in Biology.  Tonight's my last class called "The Family."  Tomorrow is the dreaded final.  Then next week I start three new classes.  That's about it for me today.  You all have a good one.

Cristy, you just posted when I tried to.  Yeah, I'm allowed a bit of fruit a couple times a day. But of course, nothing replaces chocolate or grease. :P  I'm glad that Robert's meeting went well.

Goodmorning Ladies,

Betty- My weekend consisted of having my whole house lit with about 70 small tea candles. I had all the lights off. There was a little note on the door that told him what I wanted him to do. I had rose petals leading from the door through the house to the bedroom and to the tub. In the living room I had mad a palete on the floor surrounded by pillows. I had slow music playing on the stero. I had cups of strawberrys and grapes. I bowl of ice. sparkling grape juice and some ALize, 2 wine glasses, chocolate body paint, whip cream, and an eatiable candle and all my little sex toys. we had a wonderful night  ;).

anyways nothing much happen her today. I have to finish my hair and get to work. Talk to ya later!

Hey Ladies---

Awww you go, Trice. That sounds so romantic, I always wanted someone to do that for me. I bet it was a good night for all... ;)

Not much going on with me. I got my contacts, both eyes are the same prescription so I think I have a 6 month supply and I can stretch those for a year. I got colored so now I have green eyes. I'm gonna mess around with my cam later so I'll post a pic. I am so loving this cam, I can't wait for it to get a little warmer so I can post pics of my hood. You know once it gets warm everyone comes out... ;D Rey came to see me yesterday, it was nice, I wasn't expecting it because he has been working a lot lately. I think his daughter is getting ready to live with him.

I have now found out that the new PCP has rejected me as a patient. I really don't know why but I do know it was not because of my insurance. So, I guess my case manager is going to try to find me another one. Good think I am stocked up on my med, the only thing that may run out quick is my lantus shot since I am now taking 49 units. I feel for your hubby, Netta. Taking 3 shots, wow. And lately my sugar has been bouncing in the 300's too. Had another inspection this morning, it went quick so I really can't complain.

I did get to watch two movies on the computer the other day, the remake of Friday the 13th which I thought was done pretty well. The other one was Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans, it was good but it took long to get to the action and though it was a prequel, some things didn't make sense. And I have seen all of the Underworld movies. I am trying to get Madea goes to Jail which has been kind of difficult because what I am finding is the play instead of the movie.

I haven't joined the Y yet like you Betty but I am seriously considering it. There's some parts of my body that needs work. But I have been doing little exercises and a little extra...

I guess that's a wrap for me. Have a good evening....

Well, I was feeling pretty good until I read my e-mail.  The very first e-mail was from Poz magazine.  The subject line read "Aging and HIV not good for the brain" (or somthing like that).  So, I click on it, read, and print it for Dr. D and Doc. It talks about brain inflammation and other neuro-issues.  I think, "yeah, ok, maybe THIS is what's wrong with Mim?"   A little further down was an article talking about how HIV+ women have shorter life expectencies than HIV+ men.  I thought "great, why not slap me while I'm down!"  I clicked out of the articles and deleted the message from my in box.

Michelle, I'm feeling you, babe.  Rejection sucks! Maybe he doesn't have room for another patient, or maybe he's reached his "limit" of medicare clients.  Or, maybe he's just a snob and not worth his weight in snot.  He's a doctor, so I'm more inclined to the snot scenerio.

Dr. D didn't call today, and he's in surgery all day tomorrow.  I'm REALLY anxious to hear from him.  Oh, I keep forgetting to tell you (or maybe I have) that he is willing to put a hearing aide in #6's right ear!  YEAH!  I think I just may have to kiss him when I see him next.

Speaking of moochin' on people - good gravy, Keeping!  If I tried anything like that the best I could hope for is not burning down the house  ;).  I sure hope your man was appreciative of all your...um....efforts. ;D

I heard back from my buddy who's setting me up with his HIV specialist.  The new doc - Dr. F said to give him a few days, he's working something out.  Gotta love docs with cryptic messages.  First I'm told that it's "nothing scarey" and now "something's" being worked out.  I'm thinking Dr. F is trying to figure out how to get medicare to pay for us to go out of state.  He said he REALLY wants to be able to see Mim and help us out.  Of course, he may change his mind once he meets me.

Other than that, not a thing going on here.  I had to go get more cold medicine for my babies.  I don't give them anything during the day, but if I don't at night, they can't sleep from all the coughing.  And, like last night, I'll have medicine dosed out and on my night table.

Have a great night!
Love you all,
Mum

Its been one of those days. The baby has been pretty much living with us. I wont go into the details because its too personal and nothing I want to talk about. Today was her birthday. Her father took her to the doctor to get shots. When they came back she was just miserable. She had 7 shots.
I just got her down for the night. I hope she will stay asleep. I had to rock her forever.

My car was making noises this morning too. So Billy took it to the shop. They still have the sucker. The shop has called a few times with one thing after another that is wrong with it. Now the bill should be more than the car is worth. Lovely huh?
But since they have already started they might as well finish it. We have been talking about buying another one and Billy fully intends on getting one for me. I've just been putting it off because I don't like spending that kind of money even if its not my money. Plus I have no clue what kind of car I'd like to have. I would prefer something built after 2005 and I like small cars and I don't want it to be to costly. Thats about all I know.

I should be glad I can get everything I need and stop stressing over it but thats just not the way I am made.

Viv- No aide, with 31 kids?  What happens when you have to pee or leave the room.  Like I think I said before, you must have the patience of a saint.  Sorry to hear about what happened with your Dad.

BT- I hope your final went well.  It seems like your classes are going by fast.  Did you end up getting hit by the last storm?  We were supposed to get 4 to 6 and got nada.  I am so sick of this weather, I want to scream.

Mum- Don't take this the wrong way but I love you!!  You are so freakin funny AND I totally needed that clothing website.  I am always looking for longer shirts.  I hope things work out for Mini new ID doc and that they all feel better soon.  I tend not to read a lot of that stuff either, that article would probably freak me out and I try to be a glass half full girl, although it is not working lately.

Keeping- I am glad you are feeling better.  You go girl- getting down and dirty- I might be able to do something like that in the next 5 years when all of the kids are out of the house.  My phone was shut off for most of school vacation, then one of the kids gave me thier milk when we were at McD's and I put it in my pocket and it opened and got my phone soaked.  :'(  Thank goodness, I got it dried out.

Camm- Your dog is so cute.  I love the sweater pic.  I got a flash thingy to put my pics on, thanks!  You are such a nice friend, to take your friend shopping and to the service.

Win- Your granddaughter is adorable.  Sorry to hear about your car problems, maybe if you do get something newer you can get a good deal.

cjc- Good news about school.

Queen- Your contacts sound cool.  Glad Rey could drop by.

I am going tomorrow to get my results, hopefully things are still good, I have been so stressed lately.
My dogs are driving me nuts.  The little one is in heat and the pit is going crazy.  He is breathing heavy and has his nose in her butt, all the time.  We came home today and the poor dog looked like that scene in Something about Mary, hair on her head and body going everywhere.  I had to put her in her cage tonight.  I got in a huge fight with my SO. My checking account was in the red, because I didn't read the fine print on some stuff that I had ordered and had to call and cancel it.  It seems like everyone is out to get you, you have to read a novel to see if there are any hidden charges, which in my case, there always are. I am sick of this weather. Calgon, take me away ;D

Hope everyone has a nice hump day ;D ;D

Hey everyone...ok, I'll try and hit everyone...

Mum- That's good news about the hearing aid for #6. I'm sorry you have to keep waiting for the results of the MRI, but maybe no news IS good news?

Keeping- You go girl! I'm glad you had a good night... ;D

Win-Car trouble is the worst. Your granddaughter is too cute!

Queen-So you and Rey are still good... :) I wear contacts too and I always make them last much longer.

Betty- It is so hard stay on track with eating when you know you can't have something. That is always when I want it the most. I am a total emotional eater too which makes it terrible. Good luck with that final

Snow- It really isn't customary to have an aide in the class unless there is a special needs child and he or she has it written in their IEP. As far as bathroom breaks go, we go during recess and lunch just like the kids. If there was an emergency I could have my partner teacher in the room next door watch the kids. The kids are not allowed to be in a classroom without a teacher mainly for safety reasons.

Well, yesterday when I got home I found out that my cable was not working so I called Time Warner and they couldn't figure out what the problem was so they scheduled someone to come out and take a look....on Friday!  >:( I won't have any t.v. for 4 days. I know Mum wouldn't mind...LOL! My main concern is whether or not my shows are being recorded on the DVR. I will be so irritated. On top of that I can't figure out what is wrong with my DVD player. Last night I figured I would just watch a DVD. I have one in the front room and in my bedroom and I couldn't get the one in the front room to work so I had to go into the bedroom. Technology drives me crazy! I am also out of my Atripla and when I called to refill my prescription they had to call the doctor and that idiot still hasn't gotten back to them. So now I haven't taken it for 2 days. I know I've said before that I need to find a new doctor and I still haven't. This is not the first time the doctor has not responded to the pharmacy. Can't take it. Ok...I am so tired and I think I am going to put a movie in and get into bed. Have a good night!

Yeah, I know what you mean about Time Warner, I am growing to hate them. They just shut me off yesterday when I made a 58 buck payment(which wasn't due til the 20th) to them the beginning of this month. Their reason is because I have a 92 dollar back bill which I have paid down from 300.00. So now I have to pay 155 to get it back on and have a clean slate. I got no warning or anything, they just cut it off from the pole since I don't have a dvr. But I hate to break it to you Viv, if your service is down so is your dvr and they can never get anyone out to you under 5 days. I am considering satellite through Verizon since I have phone and internet through them. So, now I am going through my movie collection once again til next week. So far I have watched, Goodfellas, Casino, American Me, Hoodlum, CandyMan, Pumpkinhead and now I am on Queen of the Damned, one of my fave movies. I have over a hundred movies so I think I'll make it til check day. Ooooooh, I wish I could go to Time Warner's office in Ohio and blow it the hell up........

Snow, baby, I LOVE YOU TO! :-*  That made my day - even if it's only 5:30am ;D

My poor oldest son has been up all stinkin night with a head cold, sore throat, coughy thingy.  My youngest son, too.  And, to round it off, my middle son.  So, it's me and the boys.  Hubby and the girls are fine - YEE-HAW for them.  I'd let them take care of us, but Hubby's not allowed to cook anything but bacon, eggs, and pancakes so I'd starve to death or die from a heart attack.

Wendy, I'm with you on the vehicle noises.  The steering wheel in our Honda has started creaking and moaning every time we turn it.  I found it amusing, like it was either having a REALLY good time with the steering column or it was old and cranky.  Hubby was less amused and said it's the power steering going out. And, now the breaks have decided that if the power steering doesn't have to work, then niether do they.  We don't drive it much - just to work, doctor's appointments, dance class 2x/wk, anytime we don't have all the kids with us.

Then, not to be out done by a foreign car, our Expedition (I think that's what it is) started acting up last night.  The check engine light came on, the RPMs started revving at funny times.  We just had some exhaust pump thingy changed on it last fall.  Ticks me off!  It's the car we can't do without - it actually FITS all of us.

Wendy, for good small cars, I'd go with a Honda.  Even with all it's problems, our 1995 (97?) Honda CRV has an appraisal value of over $3000.  They are good, reliable cars and great on gas mileage.

We're going to run into town to Goody's today.  It's thier last day and everything is 90 - 95% off.  Probably picked through, but I can't pass it up.  They're even selling the shelves, tables, and hardware.  It's certainly worth the drive.  Other than that, I'll be getting my stuff ready for co-op tomorrow morning and, of course, school today.

Have a wonderful Thursday - 1 more day!

Mum-  90-95%off.  That's a great deal.  What did you end up getting from that amazing bargain bonanza.?  Sorry to hear that the boys are sick...hopefully the girls and hubby don't get sneezy too.

Bt-  I'm looking into online courses for the masters degree.  Its going to take some research because I don't want it to be some bogus online school that has one dope sitting behind a computer.

Queen-  So what kind of camera did you get?    I'm a fan of the original Underworld, but like most other films for me, the 2nd and 3rd films usually fail to live up to the first.  Except for Return of the King, which was the third in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Viv-  I remember back in December when I was still at the (our) ex husband's house.  My direct tv went out...my dvr service failed to record my shows, my wireless and dsl all dropped.  I think I got a few gray streaks that day.

Snow-  What kind of dogs do you have?  Standard pit?  And are you getting him fixed or going to breed the little one?

Nett-  sounds like your husband found a good woman to keep him in line with his health.   Why is it that all the men I know are terrible with taking care of themselves or going to the doctors when things go south?

keeping-  take care of yourself.  Sorry that you are still sick.

Winn - hope you are doing well.  Sounds like you have your hands full with having the baby staying with you.

Christy-  good news on Robert's passing despite his absences.

Just more studying today and heading to the beach for my walk.  Hope you have a great Thursday!!!

Morning ladies,

Keeping, woo-hoo.  That set up you did really sounds nice.  I'm so glad you had a good time.

Queen, I always think about getting contacts, but I'm a bit paranoid about taking things in and out of my eyes.  Is it weird?  I'd like to get purple contacts (if they make those).

Mum, I saw those articles about women with HIV and aging and HIV.  I didn't read them all the way through.  I think about that sometimes, being that I just passed it being 20 years since diagnosed.  I understand your concerns about Min, but until the doctor says there's reasons to be worried, try not to.  Easier said than done, I know.  Especially when it's concerning your kids.   I hope your kiddos feel better soon.

Snow, we got the last storm about 5 or 6 days ago.  We had tons of snow (about 8 inches); now most of it's melted.  So it's just sloshy outside.  Good luck with your results.  Please let us know what they are, if you don't mind doing that.  Oh, about reading fine print..yeah, that's how I learned how, was by paying more than I thought the original price was.

Andrea, sorry about your cable.  We don't have Time Warner here, it's Comcast.  I think about getting satellite sometimes, but people who have had it say it's fine unless there's a storm; then it gets fuzzy.  I hope they get it fixed right.

Camms, when is your school over?  Are you going to take some time off between this school and the next one (when you get your master's)?

Well, yesterday I caved.  I went to Arby's and got their fish sandwich, and small fries.  And I found out that I really don't like Arby's fish sandwich.  They put the fish on the same buns that they put the roast beef on, and the buns are really too small for that type of sandwich.  So, I'll probably try Wendy's fish next week.  I've been craving fast-food fish, not sure why.  Probably 'cause it's a no-no.  Anyway, I've still got my sugar under control.  I just learn that when I eat stuff like that, I don't eat for a long time after.  And I'm sure the exercise helps.  Since I've been on this diet/exercise kick, I've been able to cut the insulin down from 30 units at night to 10 units.

Today I'm going to be cramming for that awful exam in Biology tonight.  Last night I finished my other class.  Two of my classmates last night announced that they're pregnant (must be that time of year).  One of them is in her middle 20's, has five kids already, and just had the last one less than 7 months ago (hello-birth control).  She said she hasn't told her husband, 'cause he didn't want any more kids.  Geesh.

Well, you ladies have a good day.  I'm going to check out a few more threads, then hit the books and notes.

Got my car back. $1300 later of course.
I got a new water pump, a tensioner pully assembly<whatever that is>, radiator flush, window motor, window regulator, installation of harmonic balancer<whatever that is>, front brake pads and rotors.
Plus they fixed my windshield squirter for free. It only squirted on one side. Now it is niagra squirtin falls.

The baby is still cranky a little. Raising her is very different than my boys. She is way more moody than my boys where. Crys at the drop of a hat and its not always a real cry its often a fake cry that just annoys the heck out of me. I don't like fake crying.

I gotta run... I'll have more time to read everyones posts later when she is asleep.
Ya'll have a nice evening.

Oh, my sweet ladies.  I HATE shopping.  But, I LOVE sales ;D  We had two buggies full of clothes.  I was really worried about the final total.  As we were waiting in line, one of the workers was changing the 90% off signs to 95% off.  I asked the cashier if our stuff would come up 95% off.  She said that they have to manually put in the discount since it changes so much during the day.  Being the cheapskate that I am, I asked if it was going to go up again in the next half hour or so.  If it was, then we'd walk around.  She didn't know (of course not).

After we got home, we added up all of the original tags.  OK, this is where it gets exciting.  No, really, you may want to sit down.  Go ahead, I'll wait. ::) ::) ::) ::)  $734.60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You got that right, ladies.  Nearly $735!!  Have you fainted yet?  Well, don't because we didn't pay that (who could?).  Get ready to hate me (except Snow since she's already declared her undying love for me ;))  We paid...total...with tax and hangers...a whopping....$35.00.  It is NOT a typo.  $735 worth of clothes for a mere $35.00!  Go ahead, you can touch me. 8)  Not there! :o  That's better :D

Still haven't heard from Dr. D, but didn't expect to today.  If he doesn't call by tomorrow, I'll call him.

Wendy, that so totally sucks!  But, it is cheaper than a new car.  At least that's what I keep telling myself when our cars crap out on us.  Good luck with the wee one.  My kids are the opposite.  My boys are WAY whinier than my girls.

You gals have a great evening.  Love you all!

UUgh!  I lost my whole post cuz I tried to add a pic and it was too big :-\

Mum- That is my kind of shopping.  I love getting stuff from clearance especially for the kids.  They either grow out of it quick or destroy it playing.

Camm- We got the pit when he was a puppy from my So's brother, the father was a king pit( which I have never heard of, just looks big and tall) and the mother was standard, so I am not sure what that makes Cassius.  He is a lot taller and longer than most I see.  I definately don't want to breed either of them.  When I get some money together I am going to get them both fixed.

BT- Good Luck with studying tonight. I always loved biology, I wish I had paid attention more.  That is good you can take less insulin at night, you have doing well with your diet.

Ten- Sorry I forgot to mention you yesterday :'(  I hope things are going well.  Your new landlord is probably happy to have in there now and not have to deal with the headaches.

Win- Glad you got your car back. I think boys are easier to raise than girls. It always amazes me how different little boys and girls are, even when they are tiny.

My appt. went well today.  I am still undetectable and my t-cells were 618.  I do have to start excercising everyday because my cholestoral is slightly elevated, not enough for medication.  I hope everyone has a good night.

Hi everyone. Mike (orthotist) came out Tuesday to cast Lucas. He was incredible & things went smoother than I thought possible 8). He said Lucas' braces should be ready in about 3 weeks.

Lucas had his preop checkup Tuesday. Everything is fine. wt 26# ht 33". I decided to take him to McD's for a treat after. They have a playland and it's been too cold/windy for the playground. The playland reminds me of a gerbil's habitrail. In the past, Lucas has been able to play in the lowest play area with a boost to get started. This time he was able to get in w/o help. Then he decided if the other kids could climb so could he. I was so afraid he'd get stuck where I couldn't get to him, but he made it to the top and came down the slide 8) ;D. I was so amazed and proud. Then he decided to go up to the middle play room. It was filled with girls and once there he didn't want to leave  ;)::). Before the girls left that level, I told him it was time to go (we had been there over an hour, and it was almost nap time). The stinker quickly figured out that I couldn't reach him there. The girls left the room about 5 minutes later and he finally came out but then spent another 15 minutes crawling up and around before finally finding the slide and coming down with this huge grin on his face ::).

We had Alpha class at church Tuesday night and I didn't get a chance to post. Weds. Lucas was in rare form and we had Ash Weds services so I couldn't get to the computer. Today was OT & PT.

Win - You want to talk fake crying, Lucas is the drama Queen ::). He will try to manipulate those around him. He routinely spends 1/4 of the PT session fake crying, hoping we'll stop and let him go play. He hasn't realized that no tears and an immediate stop to the crying at the end of an exercise give him away. ::)

Mini - I hope that everyone feels better soon. Congratulations on the shopping spree! 8)

Snow - I'm glad you're still undetectable :).

Keeping - Wow! What a hot weekend! ;)

Christy - I'm so glad Robert will be able to stay with his class. :)

Vivyt - We have Comcast here. Unfortunately when we've had a problem things don't get recorded. Not only that, things that have been recorded, but were unwatched often get lost >:(. Also things that we've deleted months ago sometimes show up again  ???. Sometimes we're able to catch up on our shows online. Good luck.

Well, I've fallen asleep twice now in front of the computer. I guess I better say goodnight. I'm sorry for those I missed. God Bless!

Morning ladies-

Sooo BT how did you do...or how do you think you did?

Snow-  Nice lab results.

#1 mom-  Sounds like Lucas had a fantastic time with the girls and the playground.  Fortunately for you he didn't get stuck.

Winn-  Sorry to hear about the car trouble...brakes and rotors are the worst.  At least it should be a long while before you're replacing the brakes again.  I had to replace my brakes a few months after I first started financing my car.  I have a  bumper to bumper warranty but that, of course, is not covered.

Mum- I love that radical bargain, especially in a economy like this.  I say, "good for you"!

I'll finish posting later.....

Good morning, Ladies.                                                                  Betty, I hope the biology test went well for you last night. AS far as your pregnant classmates, yes it is that time of year. I know I am in heat.  Don't be too hard on yourself for caving, it's not like you messed up the whole diet.                                                               Mum, I just want to touch your hand and maybe some of your awesome saving skills will rub off.   That sounds like a great haul.  We do a lot of sales, especially with food but you have us beat by a mile.                                                                                                       Wendy, sorry about your car. Glad you got it back. I agree girls are harder to take care of than boys.  I would say ignore the fake crying and maybe she'll stop but I'm not sure if that will work. Wishing you lots of patience .                                                                                         Snow, your #'s are great. Keep up the good work. As far as getting the dogs fixed, here in NC, if you qualify, low income of have Medicade, you can get a $20 fix through the SNAP program. We have taken 3 cats so far and it is really great. Even if you don't qualify, it is still only $60 and they  give them rabies shots and a few other things as well. I don't remember what state you are in but it might be worth checking it out.                                                   Lucas'mom, glad ya'll had such a good time at McD's. Robert loves to go there. Especially if there are girls , he is a  flirt.                                Andrea, sorry about your cable. We have dish and I have gotten so spoiled cause now I can watch Brett Michael's Rock Of Love and marvel at the skankiness of those girls. Maybe I am  jealous but mostly I just laugh.                                                                 Camms, good luck with the studying and I hope you enjoyed your walk.                                                                                            Well, things are going well here. My former employers called yesterday and I went to talk to them. She is going to call me in a couple days but she said she would add me to the next schedule for a few lunches and we would work from there. I will be glad to be back at work.         Oh, and I am talking to a cute guy from off the personals. Just talking right now but maybe something good will come from it. I did mention I am in heat. Mostly its from the dreams I  have been having lately, talk about XXX,woooo.                          Hope everyone has a great day.   Cristy

Morning ladies,

Wendy, I admire you for having the willingness to raise that baby.  I don't know about girls being harder to raise than boys-maybe when they're older, 'cause at least with boys you don't have to worry about them getting pregnant.

Mum, I'd love that kind of sale.  I'm glad you got some good bargains.  You need them with all your kiddos.

Snow, that's great about your numbers!  Yeah, my cholesterol is high also.  But, I have to take medication.  It brought the cholesterol down, but my triglycerides are always high.

#1mom, I'm glad Lucas' braces appointment went so well.  He sounds like quite the ladies' man. :)

Camms, I don't even want to think about that exam.  I know I didn't get higher than a "C," and I really just hope I passed it.  It was totally awful.

Cristy, good news about your job.  I hope it works out. Now, as far as this man and your impure thoughts, hmmm.......  Really, I hope things work out there as well.  Yeah, it must be the time of year.

The exam last night was the mother of any exam I've taken in that school.  I've never had any exam so hard or so long.  Everyone was complaining, everyone.  I'm just glad that class is over.  Next week starts the new ones.  We don't even get spring break. :-\

Today it's extremely windy.  It's the type of wind that cuts right through you.  I hate that kind of stuff.  I don't know if we're ever going to get spring, but if it doesn't happen pretty soon, I'm jumping ship and moving!  I don't know how people who live in states like Alaska or Minnesota can stand winter year-round.

I really have nothing exciting to talk about right now.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Morning Everyone---

Camm---Sorry, I keep forgetting to mention the camera, it's 5.0 pixels, whatever that means? I often wonder why folks make sequels when they are never as good as the first. But I guess they figure if they make a killing from the first one, why not make another.

Snow---I never heard of that kind of Pit either. But I do think it's cruel what people will do to make them mean. I really feel for animals and often wish I was Dr. Doolittle because I would love to hear what is on their minds. My one friend has 2 of them, male and female. She had the male from a pup and he is the sweetest thing. I think he likes me so much cause I use to bring him steak bones. The female she got from the same person she got the male from but the female was already grown and she is a bitch alright, mean as hell.

Mum---All I am going to say is that I need to take you with me when I finally have some money to go clothes shopping.

Betty--I thought I would have the same problem with contacts. But I got use to it really easy. You're not suppose to sleep in them unless they are extended wear but I sleep in mine all the time. I hope you passed the test.

Christy---So are you excited about getting your job back? New man, huh, good for you. I met one off the personals recently too, kinda feeling him out right now. Girl, I watch Rock of Love too, that show is a trip, I also watch I love money 2 and For the love of Ray J. What people do for 15 minutes of fame, eh.

Wini---wow, 1300 bucks..Aren't mechanics only suppose to fix what you sent it there to get fixed for? Forgot what mad you take it in the first place. But a lot of those things wrong you would've had to get fixed by inspection time anyway. So, I guess it's just better to get it over with.

Well, TGIF ladies, nothing exciting going on with me. I wonder what's up with Cindy, she hasn't been on in so long....Have a good weekend everyone....

Just got off the phone wiht Dr. D's nurse.  She read the radiology report that says "IMPRESSION: No abnormalities detected."  Why do they call it an "impression"?  They're doctors and should be more confident in what they see.  So, it should say either "diagnosis" or "this is what there was or wasn't"  Then again, they also "practice" medicine. :-\

Next step will probably be for taxoplasmosis testing and an EEG.  I'll know for sure on Monday after Dr. D takes the weekend to figure it out.

Betty, congrats on your exam.  Be sure to let us know how you did.

Cristy, congrats on the job.  I hope it works out.  I'm glad about the attendence meeting, too.  It sounds like they are willing to let Robert advance as long as he can do the work.

Queen, anytime you're ready let me know.  I can always help someone else spend their money.

Wendy, good luck with the baby.  Are you still working?  Who watches the baby while you're gone?  I guess you've decided to keep your car, huh?  I don't blame you.

Co-op went well today.  My drama class is full of drama queens - especially the boys.  My research class is 4 highschool boys (the size of houses), 1 freshman boy (the size of a peanut), and 2 middle school girls.  It was intresting, to say the least.  Then, Hubby went and played basketball with them.  Poor thing.  He was Mr. Tough Guy until he got in the car.  We drove until they couldn't see us, then he pulled over so I could drive.  His legs were killing him.  He's taken 600mg of Ibuprofin and rubbed Bengay over every inch of skin from his neck to his toes.  I just laughed at him.  He's such a goofball.

Showers free, so I better go while I can.  Have a great Friday!

I get up before the baby wakes up in the morning for work and I'm only gone maybe an hour and a half tops most often. Billy gets her up and is usually feeding her breakfast by the time I get home.
My job is really quick. Its mostly checking in on Harold and setting his meds and clothing up for the day, tidying up whatever the biweekly house keeper doesn't do, doing his laundry, bulllying him into showering, buying whatever he needs, and keeping notes on his behavior and shenanigans, talking to his doctors and making sure he keeps appointments, refilling his medications, checking the milage on his car, checking his mail, checking his phone, searching his apartment for things like cigars or other things he should not have and reporting anything reportable to his sister.

Pretty cush job. I could work more hours but its really not neccessary and there is only so much of Harold I can stand in a day. I love the old fart but he is very annoying.

As far as raising Haley goes. I hope that she will wind up with one of her parents in the end. But not years down the road. I'm talking within the next several months. I think my hair is getting more grey. LOL

Oh...Cristy and Queen...I watch those shows too. They are my secret vice! I have report cards to finish this weekend so no wasting time....sure...LOL!

Morning ladies,

Queen, I may try to get some contacts when I get the money.  With my glasses, when I put my head down to like read, the glasses almost fall off.  It's very annoying.

Mum, "impression" is what's always put on those types of reports, i.e. x-rays, sonographs, etc.  It's just normal medical language.  The result's great!  I'm so happy she didn't have anything show up.  What do you do in your drama class?

Wendy, kudos to you for taking care of your granddaughter.  When my daughter and granddaughter lived with me, right after granddaughter was born, I would get up in the middle of the night with granddaughter, and warm up her bottle, change her diaper, then lay out blankets and pillows on the living room floor, and put on classical music and read to her.  Then when they lived with me when granddaughter was about 3, I would get her up in the morning and get her ready for preschool, then wake up my daughter to take her.  That was a crazy time, though.  Anyway, I think it's great that you're willing to do this.

Andrea, did the cable guy show up?  I have watched the Rock of Love bus, and it's pretty comical.  I don't watch it regularly.  I like the end the best, when he kicks someone off.  I also watch the Celebrity Rehab Sober House.  I really like that one.

Well gals, my Biology teacher e-mailed eveyone their final grades.  I got an A-!!!  I was so excited when I got that e-mail yesterday, I could have run through my neighborhood naked (well, maybe not that excited).  I certainly didn't expect that.  I'm still waiting for the grade from the other class, which should be posted on my school's website sometime Monday or Tuesday.

I have nothing exciting going on today.  I'm going to go to a local grocery store and get a few things.  I'm also probably going to do some reading.  I'm reading an excellent book about crime reporting.  It has several true stories that have been run in newspapers or magazines over the years involving crime stories.  They're very interesting.  I'm also reading a book about courtesans (kept women) from long ago.  It's about their "virtues."  It's entertaining.  I'm also probably going to try to figure out how to get to my online class, which doesn't start until Monday.  You ladies have a good day.

Good Morning!

Betty-Congratulations on your A! Are you done now?

Well the cable guy came and fixed my tv...YAY!! He said that someone broke off some thingy where the hookups are. He thinks that a technician did it trying to find someone else connection. I didn't care as long as the the tv worked again. Anyways...I am doing report cards this weekend so I am hunkering down. I have to go the market and I am supposed to go to a wedding this afternoon but that is it. No procrastinating...Did I just say that?  ;D

Have a good weekend ladies!!!  :) :)

Morning Ladies----

Well, I am going freaking nuts without my cable. I plan on paying the 155 to get it back on even though it was a lame ass reason for them to turn it off. I have over a hundred dvds and I am getting tired of watching them already. Thank the Goddess for Warcraft...

Well, the car might be fixed today. There is someoone out there now working on getting the old catalytic converter off but the pipe that goes from the converter to the exhaust broke and I need a new one. I was hopeful but there is nothing that can be done about it until check day unless my friend puts it on his card. But he hasn't offered to, I am just hoping he will since we both get checks on the 3rd. Everybody cross their fingers and toes.

I was downloading more movies. Not sure if anyone is into video games but I am. But even if you're not, I am sure you've heard of Resident Evil. They made 3 movies with Milla Jovovich in it...Anyhoo, a new Resident Evil movie came out called Resident Evil: Degeneration, except this is based more around the video games and has CGI animation, I think that is what it is called. Long story short, I downloaded it, from what I did see, it is pretty good but I am going to have to start from the beginning again. I also downloaded The Dark Knight...

I gotta run friend is here. Now they are saying I may have gotten the wrong catalytic converter and still need the tail pipe and another muffler cause the muffler has holes in it... :-\

WOOHOOOOO.   Betty got an A!!!!! You go , girl. I knew you would do well. I am so happy for you.                                                           Queen, I hope the car gets fixed and your cable gets turned back on.                Nothing going on here, just stuck in the house. It is raining  and the rain is expected to turn to snow. I am wishing for 10 inches but we will probably only get a dusting. I will keep hoping, I'll check in later. Hope everyone is safe and warm. Later.   Cristy

Well, this day has turned into an emotional rollercoaster...What was suppose to have been a good day has gone to shit in a matter of hours....

I did end up getting all the parts for the car, which was an extra pipe which came up to 35 bucks and another 30 for a new muffler. My friend paid for it and knew that my bff couldn't pay it all back at once and was willing to accept payments. I call her to tell her the news and she gets pissed off at me for getting the extra parts even when I explained she didn't have to pay it all back right away. Then has the nerve to say that she would've gotten the extra parts when she could but yet she doesn't even have anyone to fix the damn car. Her mechanic got into the car accident a few weeks back. What do I plan to do? I am still getting the car fixed tomorrow morning but she will not be getting it back til she pays what she owes me. She can take her time if she wants but I refuse to let this car sit in my driveway another 3 months waiting on her ass.....

And after that, I ended it with Rey. I don't want to go into the details. I am hurting about it now but I think it's for the best. Let's just say I deserve more than what he is willing to give. On, the bright side, there is still two guys left. The one from the personals is looking promising too plus it would keep me from having to worry about the disclosure issue. Thing is he is in NY, Queens to be exact and I am not sure how a LDR would work out. Let's call him Big D, shall we... ;D Then there is Orlando who lives about 5 hours from me. Who just bought a car so he could come see me but we know he bought it for other reasons too... ;D I like him but I think he has some issues and then I would have the disclosure issue to deal with....What is a Queen to do?

I am just pissed and hurt right now........ :'(

I'm at work right now, but thought I'd check in quick. Nothing happening here.

Betty -  :) :) :)  CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :) :) :)
;D  I knew you could do it!  ;D

Queen - I'm sorry you had such a bad day. I have no advise on what a Queen should do, but just wanted you to know someone is here to listen.

Vivyt - I'm glad your cable is back.

Mum - I'm glad that mini's CT showed no abnormalities. I know how hard and frustrating it is when you don't know what is wrong. I'll keep her in my prayers and on the prayer chain.

I'm doing the "Betty got an A in Bi-o-lo-gy" boogie.  A little butt wiggle, clap, turn, shuffle left, shuffle right, another butt wiggle, clap, half-turn, hand wave, strike a pose, jazz hands, half turn (repeat and continue to post)

Queen, sounds like you're having some tough times. I'm sorry, I really am.

LM (Lucas's mom): Thank you for your prayers, we covet them.  I'm anxious to see Tuesday what Mim's numbers are doing on Tuesday.  The Lipid doc gives us a print out of the results.  Since we have her lipid and ID labs done at the same time, I'll know everything but her load.  We see her PID on Friday and I'm praying, HARD, that we can go in singing "Hit the Road, Jack!"

We've also set up an appointment with an Occupational Opthomologist.  He uses all sorts of really cool techniques to help with tracking problems, among other things.  He gives different computer programs to the kids to work on with funky looking glasses.  When they finish one program, we mail it back to him and he mails us the next in the series.  Which program depends on the specific issues.

I know people who have used him for all sorts of issues and LOVE him.  It's quite a drive, but he takes our insurance at no cost to us, so we're going.

Alrighty, I'm getting winded from my Betty Boogie - dizzy, too.  Also time to get everyone ready for church.  It's blue blazing cold, but the sun is shining and the snow has missed us.

Everyone have an awesome day!

Morning ladies and thanks for the congrats,

Andrea, I have 8 more weeks, then I'll be done.  I'm glad you got your cable back.  How are those report cards coming?

Queen, I'm glad you're going to be able to get the car fixed.  I'm sorry about Rey, but it sounds like you got a couple in your side pocket, so that's good.....

Cristy, you really want 10 inches of snow?!  Have you lost your mind?

#1 mom, thanks for stopping in and for the congrats.

Mum, (hee), I'm picturing you dancing.  You have more energy than I do in the morning.  It's really cold here also, though we've had no snow either.  Good luck Tuesday.  I'm curious to know what Min's numbers are also.  That opthalmologist sounds like a great doctor; I'm glad you found him.

Last evening I went to a guy's house from the HIV support group.  They had a get-together (dinner, visiting).  It was really fun.  I was the only HIV+ woman there (as usual).  The leader is female and she was there, along with a couple other ladies who have been involved with the group.  They didn't stay too long though.  So, it was me and seven guys (all gay).  We had a blast, talking and laughing.  I didn't know about this happening yesterday morning; the guy whose house it was at called me yesterday, early afternoon.  I'm glad he did.  Otherwise I probably would have really been bored and pulling my hair out.

So today,  I'm going to figure out how to do the online class (hopefully I can without drama).  And the usual stuff....dishes, clean the cat's litter etc.  I talked my landlord into getting a recyclable container last week, so I'm going to go around and see what I want to throw into it (and what I can throw into it).  There have been a couple things I've thrown in there that I've had to take out.  I need a list of what can and can't go in.  Other than that, nothing else happening.  My brother should be over tonight for more of 'The Wire.'  I can't remember what season we're on, but I think it's season 4.  You ladies have a good day.

Morning ladies,

Wendy, thanks.  How are things with grandbaby?

Netta, my father used to smoke with his oxygen on.  He told me he would forget to turn off the oxygen.  I was always expecting on the news to hear about his house blowing up, but nothing ever happened in that regard.  I can't believe they closed down the schools for an inch of snow.  It's only 7F degrees out right now, but we haven't had any snow in the last few days, and I'm so glad.  We've had our fair share of snow this season.

Not much going on this morning.  I couldn't get onto my class yesterday (the online one), so today I'm going to try to get on.  If I can't, I'll be heading to the school to have the secretary fix things.  Other than that, I plan right now on going to the Y.  Nothing else.  You ladies have a good day.

Betty, I hear you!  We have a dusting of snow, but it will be gone before long.  It's 7F right now with a windchill below 0.  I'm suprised they haven't posted a 2hr delay because of the cold.  The buses run on diesel and they have to warm the engines to un-freeze the gas.  The news just announced that NYC schools are closed today - the 1st time since January 2004!  We've never gone a year without schools closing at least 3 or 4 days during the winter (mostly due to flooding) They've missed so much school this year that the kids have to go until June 8th and school boards are talking about starting school the middle of August.  That would reduce summer to about 6wks.

We're not supposed to get anymore snow, but it's stinkin' COLD!

You asked about my drama class.  We're doing a puppet skit and 2 "real people" skits.  We're making puppets with paper-mache heads.  The kids will be able to paint the faces, and make the hair and clothes.  Even though there are only 3 kids in the puppet skit, I'm letting all the kids make one.  The art class is going to paint our background for us.  I have 2 AS kids in the class - our middle son and another 9yr old named Nathan.  They are a hoot.  I know when 1 raises his hand, the other one will, too.  They've only met twice, but they act exactly alike.  It's so funny.  Next week, I'll be getting another AS little guy named Carter. He and my son are good buddies.  I MIGHT have hair left by May.

The boys and Hubby are just about over their croop.  Of course, mine is still holding on for dear life.  I found some meds that work.  I made it through yesterday with only 1 breathing treatment and 2 doses of meds.

Not much going on today.  Mim and I will be heading out tomorrow at 6am.  She has to have her bloodwork done before we see her lipid doc at 8:45a.  She'll have her fasting lipid panel and her HIV labs.  We'll find out this afternoon if Dr. D wants to add taxoplasmosis.  I'll let you all know what happens.

Have a great Monday!

Good Morning Ladies!

Betty- You are so close! What class are you trying to take?

Mum- Your classes are going well? How are the kids?

Queen- Sorry to hear about Rey but it sounds like you are rebounding... ;)

Netta- Snow! In Georgia!? My dad has some family out there and I have never heard of it snowing!

Wendy- How are things going with your granddaughter?

Well it's Monday and I'm almost finished with report cards. They are due tomorrow so what I have left I have to finish tonight. They are done online and sometimes it takes sooooo long! I just have some Language Arts grades and comments left...UGGHHHH!

On another note...I have mentioned that I have been having "down moments" and really it just isn't getting much better. I'm good at pretending and "functioning" if that's what you call it. Things just aren't getting better. My mom emailed me about how I am pulling away from the family and that I don't talk to anyone or ask how she and her fiance are doing. She wants to know what my "plan" is and that it doesn't have to be this way. I told her that I am just trying to make it through each day and if it wasn't for Vivian (my dog) and my job I wouldn't have anything to get up for. My therapist thinks that I need to start on some medication because I'm just sinking lower and lower. I just don't care anymore. I've never felt this way and I don't like it but I can't get out of it, you know? I've also gained weight and that doesn't help. I'm not motivated to do anything about it. Ok....I know, boo hoo, boo hoo. I don't want to be a downer... :) Just kind of unloading.

Have a good day ladies!

I hope you start feeling sunny soon.

I can't believe they closed down the schools for an inch of snow.
They do it all the time down south. We are not accustomed to driving in any freezing weather conditions.
Snow generally turns to ice and southern people just cant drive on ice. The snow we get is most often gone within 24 hours. Replaced by dirty slush and black ice. Its a safety issue. Too many people get injured and killed when the road conditions are frozen. So city officials will close schools and city offices if the weather is too bad for southern drivers.

Hello, ladies. Hope everyone has had a good day.                           Betty, I lost my mind a long time ago ::) ;D, you just noticed? We got about 2 inches of snow and it closed down schools and most of everything. Robert and I went out and played a bit but I don't like the cold so we came in. We did get a lot of ice, and it will be worse in the morning cause everything melted and it will refreeze tonight. The low is going to be 11 degrees.                                                                          Betty, the outing  on Saturday sounds like fun. glad you got to go.                     Minismum, I will be wishing for the best possible results for her.               Wendy, I second your whole post .
I hope you start feeling sunny soon.

Except for the part about you being rotten ;D, you seem like a unselfish person to me.                                                              Anyway, I start back to work tomorrow. I got put back on the schedule today for 4 lunches T-F and Sunday. I will be glad to be back at work, maybe I can lose the 20 pounds I've gained from PeppridgeFarm cookies, my junk food of choice here lately.                    Queen and Andrea, hope you ladies get to feeling better. Have a great night.     Cristy

Hi everyone. Lucas has his eye surgery in the morning. We have to be at the surgical center at 0715. If you pray, please add Lucas to your prayers. We got about 4" of snow here. All the roads were plowed, but will freeze overnight. Hopefully we'll be able to get out of our road. After that we'll be fine traveling. The surgical center is only about 10 miles away.

Vivyt - You can unload any time you need. If your therapist is recommending medicine, maybe you should try it. About 6 mo after my hysterectomy I was having killer mood swings. I'm talking suicidal to homicidal in the blink of an eye. Now I take a bioequivalent hormone replacement therapy and am as normal as I get ;). I know that's different from your situation, but the point is better living through chemistry saved me ;D.

Mum - I'll be praying for mini's blood tests.

Well, tomorrow's going to be a busy day. I better hit the rack. I'll post when I can to let everyone know how Lucas did.

Howdy ladies,

Mum, thanks for the welcome and invite. I see that you have a house full as well. I'll tell ya right now, kids lose their damn minds when they hit puberty. In addition to the 6 kids at home, we have 2 cats (Pete and Repete), Beagle (Boo), another dog of the Hines 57 variety (Captain Morgan),and a 4 1/2 foot long green iguana (Fluffy). Fluffy is my baby. Can't wait for it to get warm, he likes to go for walks.
I'll try to post a pic of him, he's huge.

Anyway, gotta finish up some paper work before I get to go home. Hope to get to know some more of you ladies. Have a great day.

Just real quick, thank god there is another gamer in here! Queen, what type games do you prefer? And where was this stuff when I was a kid? I had Pong!

Morning ladies,

Mum, I didn't know your boys and your hubby had croop.  Ugh.  Good luck with Min's bloodwork.  She's probably already had it by now.  I'm anxious to find out what the results are.

Andrea, maybe you should follow your therapist's advice and try an antidepressant.  Opinions here vary widely.  I can tell you that I've been on one or another the past three & 1/2 years, and that's one of the big ways I stay alright without going over the edge.  I know I have a chemical imbalance, and many people do.  Not everyone needs medication, but some of us do.  It's worth a shot, don't you think?

Wendy, yes, I lived in Alabama for awhile, and everyone freaked out even when there was just frost outside.  I understand people don't know how to drive down there; you know, we deal with black ice a lot up here, I guess we've just learned how to drive on it (or not drive and have accidents).  Usually the accidents caused from stuff like that up here are pretty minor.

Cristy, I'm sure it will feel good to be back at work.  Pepperidge Farm, aye?  Mmmm.

#1 mom, Lucas is in my thoughts.  Please let us know how everything goes.

Fruitloop, welcome to our family!  I look forward in getting to know you.

I'm not going to the Y today.  I have a stomach virus, and was up and down all night with the runs.  So, I'm going to stick close to home today.  My landlord will be over in a couple hours to get rent and I have a couple other bills to pay.  I'll be working on homework for one of my classes today also.  It's the online class.  I really hate it; there's so many different programs the class uses and I am not computer smart at all.  Seriously, I was so frustrated yesterday when trying to figure it all out, I was almost in tears.  Which is very unusual for me.  If I can't get it down by tomorrow, I'm heading to the school and telling the secretary to show me how to do it.

Other than that, nothing else going on.  I talked to my daughter last night; she's doing alright and says she's really starting to show.  She also said she's getting her tubes tied after this child is born, but she's unsure if the hospital she's giving birth at will allow tubals, as it's a Catholic hospital.  She has a doctor's appointment today, and will find out when she talks to her dr.     Anyways, you ladies have a good day.

Hi everyone. Just a quick post. Lucas had his eye surgery today. So far the surgery appears to be a success. During the surgery his heart went into SVT (very fast heart rate) several times. The first several times it slowed with out the Dr. doing anything, but the last time they had to give him medicine to slow it down because it was over 200 and was not slowing. He has an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist in the morning.

Hey Ladies--

I don't think I reported in since the weekend. So here it goes, the drama still goes on with the car. It finally has gotten fixed, it just has to have the gasket put on it, without it, it is kind of loud cause air is getting in the exhaust. My bff might soon be ex, decided to send her son over to get the car while I was gone. I think she tripped and bumped her head. I'll just say that instead of going on a rant which is what I have been doing part of the day.

I am still pining for Rey which I could just kick myself for. Oh, don't get it twisted, I am not depressed but just misses the time we use to spend together. Now I have to think of something to do in place of him. The guy from the personals, Big D has done a Houdini all of a sudden...So, I am like  ??? and wtf? So now I am down to one. And he is 6 hours away...

Time Warner tried to jack me today. When I spoke with them on the phone they told me all I needed to pay was 155 but when I went into the local office it got jacked to 274....Yeah, well, they know what they can do for me...*bends over and moons them*.....f*ckers. I think  I am going to try to get satellite but that is going to have to wait til next month. I'll just make due with the internet and dvds. Which now my dvd player is acting funky and a movie is stuck in it. I am about ready to throw the s.o.b.

Tonight I am going to start back on my meds. I wanted to make sure I had some trees in case I get to feeling sick to my stomach or something. I am nervous like when I first started them. But I think I will be fine, meaning no resistance. We shall see in May when I go back to see my ID doc. I am still doing my little exercises for my stomach around the house. I am going to look into a membership somewhere. I thought this was cute...I went to a store today to get cigarettes and actually got carded. I thought the girl was carding me but I wasn't sure being partially deaf and all. So when I asked her to repeat what she said, I think I kinda scared her. But to make her feel good and me, I told her my age and said if she had to card me then I consider it a compliment.

*starts singing I'M TOO SEXY and struts down the catwalk*

PS--Fruitloop, I play all type of games..For the computer I am into Warcraft right now but has played most of the Diner Dashes, Wedding Dashes. I also like hidden puzzle games. As far as game systems go, I can't afford a PS3 and use to play the Resident Evil games for the PS2 along with The Sims, The Godfather, and Scarface...It's good to have another gamer aboard because I don't think the ladies here know what I am talking about when I mention Warcraft.....

Welcome Fruitloop...just typing that makes me smile  :)

Queen- That car has been causing you nothing but problems. I hope you get it resolved

Betty- You're taking a computer class, right? Do you have to or do you want to? I really have a difficult time when it goes beyond basic stuff.

#1Mom- I'm glad the surgery went ok. That's too bad that now he has to see a cardiologist. Did the doctor say why his heart rate was going up so high?

Cristy- Did you decide to go back to your old job?

Win- Thank you... :)

Not much going on. I go to see my ID doctor on Saturday and my therapist wants me to talk to him about going on Lexipro. I was on it for a few months before I was diagnosed. I cried my eyes out at my session today but that's a good thing. There's just so much...anyways, report cards are done so that is a relief. Next week we have parent conferences. I'm tired just thinking about it. Is it June yet?? LOL! Ok, ladies....I am going to watch some T.V. and go to bed... :)

Good night...sleep tight!

Morning all,

Latrice, I can't believe this is my last grading period.  It really went by pretty fast.

#1mom, please keep us updated on what the cardiologist says.  I hope everything's alright with Lucas.

Queen, so do you have the car now, or did your soon to be ex-bff take it?  That would really suck if she did.  I know how much you need it.

Andrea, I have to take the online class if I want to be done by May.  I don't like having to take something online.  I don't really do well without a "live" teacher.  But, it's something I have to do.  Good luck with the Lexapro.  Most people I know who take that have pretty good success stories.

Nothing exciting.  Tonight starts a new class at the school-Anatomy and Physiology.  I hope the teacher doesn't try to race through the book like the Biology teacher did.  You all have a good day.

Hey ladies-  its been a few days.  I really skimmed.  I'm very busy today.

Mum-  glad that mini had a good report...I also find the term "unremarkable" strange for reports, with regards to you "impression comment".

Thanks Queen for the response.  That sounds like a great camera.  The higher the megapixels...the better the resolution.

I've had a busy last few days but I need to vent ladies.  I went out with my ex husband (we're good friends, if you're new to the thread).  It was an urban cool pub that everyone frequents and on this particular day an nba game was playing.  The guys next to me said that the player was wearing a mask because he was HIV.  I looked at them and said, "a mask to do what".  And they said cover him if he had a blood spill.  Before I could think, he said,  besides, ..."his sweat is killing us".  I looked at my ex and said wtf?

It takes a lot to push me  and this pushed me.......I want to scream "I am HIV"

Morning,

You ever been so tired that you forget how to spell? I seriously just spell checked "morning" to make sure I had it right. Been crazy here at work. Spent all night last night installing new fire/tornado alarms campus wide. Got home around 5:30 am, ate and took meds, got the kids up and out the door for school, and spent most of the morning yelling at the dogs to stop fighting. Gave up on sleep cuz I had class to get to.  Then spent all tonight here at work running around making sure all the new alarms work campus wide. Caffeine has been my best friend today! Wore out!

Camille, there are certainly plenty of idiots out there. It's almost like they have 2 brain cells. The first cell is having a seizure and the second one is mugging the first.

#1 mom, how's your son doing?

BT and Viv, I've done a few online classes myself and they can be a pain in the ass, depending on the system that your school uses. My advise is stay in touch with the instructors. Couple of mine even arranged to meet in person at school to go over material.

Queen, I have yet to try Warcraft, I want to though. It looks great. I can't afford a PS3 either, so I have the old xbox. I've been busy with Elder Scrolls and Fable for a while now and sometimes mix it up with the Socom series when I feel like blowing stuff up. Every now and then I have to give one of the kids a beat down with Madden NFL, just to remind them who's boss.

Well, I just got called on the radio so I gotta get. Have a great day all.

Morning ladies,

Happy, thanks for checking in.  What's going on with you?

TreDai, I peaked at your wedding pictures thread.  Those are really nice pictures.  I wish you all the happiness in the world.  And good luck getting Ryan White assistance.  I don't know what state you live in, but I don't see why you wouldn't get some help.

Camms, wow.  Isn't it amazing that today, with all the information out about HIV/AIDS, how ignorant some people still are?  And more than ignorant, foolish, because they choose not to get educated.  Those kind of people are the ones who really piss me off.  I would want to set the record straight.  I'm very open to people about having HIV.  And most people, especially once they get to know me (not that I'm all that or anything), are pretty accepting.

Fruitloop, what kind of work do you do?  It sounds awfully busy, plus your busy schedule at home.  Wow, no wonder you overindulge in caffeine.   I do hope you get a chance to rest and get some sleep.

The Anatomy class last night went pretty well.  Tonight I start an independent study called "Topics in Psychology."  I guess we're going to study different personality disorders.  I really like the instructor, so that should go well.  The instructor last night was pretty entertaining.  I have most of the work done for my online class for this week; I just have to take a quiz.  Quizzes and exams always make me extremely nervous.

It's supposed to be up to 57F degrees today.  I'm probably going to go to the Y in an hour to exercise.  Other than that and class, I do need to go to the store for a few things.  You ladies all have a good day.

Anyone want to start the new thread?

Well, someone definitely needs to start a new thread. As for the car, I am waiting for the guy to show up to put the gasket on. I can't creep if you can hear me from a block away... ;) And no, Betty, my ex-bff did not get the car. I wouldn't give it to her anyway, everything is in my name. And I just got the insurance back on it on the 3rd. She can have it back when she pays me for what I just had fixed and for the labor. It's day 2 of being on meds, I am still feeling a little queasy in the morning when I get up. But I am sure that will go away in a few weeks. I still don't have a pcp yet and no more refills on my Lantus.

Tre--Wow, you met your hubby on MySpace, that's cool. I am a major flirt over there. Did meet someone off of there but just recently ended it with him. But I did just hear from someone I use to date back in the day when I lived in Harrisburg. It has been like 8 years since we talked and I see on his profile that he is single, so no telling what could happen.... ;)

Camms---Sorry about the incident. Something like that has never happened to me though I have been called an aids infested bitch by my one sister..And she works in the medical field, even more ignorant coming from her..go figure... ::)

That's about it for me, gonna try to enjoy this nice weather we're about to have....
