%$*#ing thrush.....
« on: January 30, 2008, 04:57:34 pm »
What a pain in the ass. Been poz for over a year now and it seems like everytime I look in my mouth the old fugus is back! Been on 2 scripts of fluconazole, one for 7 days and the other for 14 days with a double dose the first day. The shit works good but after about 2 weeks to a month it starts coming back, white patches and a very sensitive tongue. I have been taking acidophilus which is supposed to help with balance the little buggers in you. My doc seems hesitant to put me on low dose of fluconazole as a preventitive measure. I do smoke and the odds of me giving that up anytime soon are about ZERO! My last labs were good with a cd4 around 500 vl at 5000 and % at 22.5 still not on meds. Does anyone have any sort of advice beside meds, I have read that pure tea tree oil and water as a mouth wash twice a day works....

Nystatin mouth wash works pretty well for the thrush nastys.  You swish and swallow.
